BLOOD AND BEAUTY

As they stepped into the palace, winter felt a familiar sense of grandeur wash over her. The high ceilings, the sparkling chandeliers, and the polished marble floors all seemed to whisper reminders of her new status as Ryker's wife.

Kaida, walking beside her, nodded to the guards as they passed. "Welcome back,your highness," One of them said, bowing slightly.

Winter smiled acknowledging their greetings,her eyes darting to the corners of the palace looking for her husband,"where is Ryker," she asked immediately when she saw Elara.

"Ah,his majesty has gone on a trip and we aren't sure when he will be back, " winter's heart skipped a bit as she processed Elara's words. She felt a pang of disappointment and worry but she tried to keep her emotions in check. "Do you know where he's gone?" She asked,trying to sound calm.

Elara hesitated,her expression changing,"as his majesty's wife,you will have to handle his duties for the time being," She said finally,her voice filled with uncertainty. Winter's heart sank at the thought of shouldering the royal duties but she steeled herself ready to prove herself as a capable partner in Ryker's absence.

As she turned to leave,her eyes darted to ryker's study. Winter's eyes lingered on Ryker's study,a sudden determination burning within her,she knew that if she was going to prove herself then she needed to learn more about the kingdom's policies and its ... And the best place to start was by reviewing ryker's papers and documents.
