Broken Shackles: A shaman's path to supremacy

Karl kicked open the door and a shadow shot out towards him.

The shadow's speed was slightly above a normal person before the world changed and would probably be the doom of any other person.

However, Karl was currently Three times faster than a normal person before the arrival of the apocalypse. His reaction speed had become simply good and his guard was up so in the face of the sudden attack he did not panic.

Taking a step back, Karl used [Earth spike] as it impaled the shadow, however surprisingly, the shadow was still fine after being impaled.

The shadow was actually a huge zombie.

The zombie was over 2 meters tall and its body was surrounded by fat that acted as a protective layer. Its two bloodshot eyes glared at Karl and his group with fury as if it could feel pain and tried to moved, but the spike prevented it from moving.

Karl again used [Earth spike] this time aiming at it's head and killing it, however it still didn't die but blood flowed down from it's wounds, hoping it'll die of blood lost and did.

Although Karl was surprised that the zombie was quite resilient, his attention was soon drawn to a skill scroll that was shining with a purple light.

[Nature Whisperer: Command nature to bend to your will, stop tearing winds, calm raging seas, summon rain clouds at will amongst many other abilities.]

Karl eye's went wide seeing the skill an immediately used it, thinking of the practical applications were endless and not dependent on offensive or defensive type situations.

He could use it to alter one vs one battle, large scale battle and much more, but for now there isn't any use of the skill.

The pharmacy was a multi-story building. However, Karl's group had no intention of inspecting the entire building.

The first thing they did was to fill there backpack with fever medicine, cold medicine, medicine to relieve stomach pain, even medicine for muscle pain, and some vitamin pills. Ten minutes later, their backpack was filled with boxes containing all kinds of basic but essential medicine for any human .

Next, Karl found several plastic bags and then began to inspect the shelves one by one.

As Karl searched for gauzes, band aids, alcohol, and stored them in their backpacks.

Suddenly the group heard several howls outside the building as Patrick rush to where Karl is at.

"We got a problem, Giant dogs outside the building, no more than 12 in number" he said.

Hearing this Karl regroup with the others on the second floor.

"Leah we'll kill them from here" Karl broke a window by kicking it, glass shards fallen to the ground shattered and alerted the dogs.

"Patrick, Trish you guard the stairs incased they'll use it to reach us. Krass, and Matt you'll try to kill as msny of them while not being noticed" Hearing Karl command everyone went to position.

Karl looked outside the window looking at dogs hoping to find it's leader, he noticed a dog as big as a car and looked different than the others in it's group, was looking at him.

'That must be there leader' Man and beast stared each other eyes.

Karl immediately used [Earth spike] below the leaders chest, however upon hearing the ground vibrating jump away dodging the earth spike.

Howl!

Seeing that the leader dodged his attack, Karl used all his curses on the leader and [Earthbound totem] slowing everything around his group.

The leader felt that being weakened, howled commanding the others to kill them immediately rush inside the building, but others tried to climb up the building but was shot down by both Karl and Leah.

Seeing that there aren't anymore dogs scaling the building, both decided to help Patrick and Trish as both we're apparently struggling but the narrowed pathway on the stairs lessened their burdened.

Whoosh

A wind blade passed Patrick's side and sliced a dog's head. Patrick looked behind and saw Karl and Leah rushing towards him.

"Watch out, don't get distracted" Karl shouted.

Hearing Karl's shout he immediately turned his head only to see a giant maw nearing his face closed biting head.

Luckily Matt saved him, as he struck his bat above the dog's head and killing it.

Boom!

An explosion was heard as the group looked towards the sound, they spot the leader of the pack of dog rushing towards Karl.

The leader currently being slowed down by the [curse of slow] and the totem, giving Karl enough time to react and activate dozen [Earth spike].

Several spike jutted out the ground piercing the dog, but was shallow allowing it to break the spike.

"We just need to wear it down" Karl said, while looking at the dog bleeding from it's wounds.

Hearing Karl's voice the group, only tried to wear it down as Leah harassed it with her wind blade, while Patrick and Trish deflected it's attacks, as Krass and Matt attack if it over extend it's attacks.

While Karl was replenishing his magic reserve and stayed out of the fight.

Six minutes later, the dog falled to the ground as it doesn't have the strength to stand anymore.

Seeing the dog falling, Karl decided to kill before the others can do.

Suddenly a giant spike impaled the dog. suprising but and looked at Karl clearly annoyed by the sudden kill-steal.
