A dimly lit, damp underground temple, illuminated by scattered candles, their flickering flames casting long, dancing shadows.

Massive stone pillars, over a thousand in number, supported the weight of the earth above. Each pillar was carved with the symbol of the ouroboros—the serpent eating its own tail, representing the cycle of infinity.

A temple dedicated to Ophis, the Infinite Dragon God.

At the center of the temple, on a circular stone platform, sat Ophis on an ancient stone throne, eyes closed, seemingly in deep meditation.

"Are they here yet?" a deep, masculine voice echoed from Ophis's lips.

The flickering candlelight revealed the figure standing below—a young man with silver, spiky hair and sharp features, dressed in a black trench coat—Vali Lucifer.

He leaned against one of the pillars, his voice laced with impatience. "Bikou, we still have a minute before Kuroka's supposed to arrive. Just be patient."

Vali's heart pounded in his chest. This temple, built to honor Ophis and used as a meeting place, was one of the Khaos Brigade's main bases.

The Khaos Brigade was comprised of many factions, one of them—the Old Maou Faction's—descendants of the Four Great Satans—decimated by Haru, they were effectively out of the picture.

The Hero Faction, a group of humans descended from legendary heroes, now controlled this territory.

Vali's position was… awkward. And it was made even more so by the fact that he'd… misplaced the Khaos Brigade's leader, Ophis.

Having a somewhat amicable relationship with Ophis, and having learned of her desire to meet Haru, Vali had agreed to help.

He'd asked his friend, Bikou, a descendant of Sun Wukong to use his 72 Transformations to impersonate Ophis, while Vali and Kuroka escorted the real Ophis to the Gremory mansion.

They'd agreed to meet back here in twenty minutes. But time was running out. If he stayed any longer, he risked arousing the Hero Faction's suspicion.

Vali and Bikou exchanged anxious glances, their eyes fixed on the teleportation circle in the corner of the temple.

Then, the appointed time arrived. But Kuroka and Ophis were nowhere to be seen.

Vali's heart sank. He was trapped in the Hero Faction's headquarters, and if his deception was discovered, he would face their full wrath.

And at this critical moment, Ophis, the naive Dragon God, was one thing, but Kuroka, the cunning Nekoshou… how could she fail him like this?

"That damned cat…" Vali muttered under his breath.

....

Meanwhile, in the Gremory mansion, Kuroka was relentlessly teasing a blushing Koneko, the younger girl's frustrated cries echoing through the hall.

Kuroka suddenly sneezed, then, after a brief pause, resumed her torment of Koneko.

....

"I'm going insane!" Bikou, his face transformed into Ophis's, sat on the throne with a look of utter misery.

Though he shared Sun Wukong's mischievous nature and had eagerly agreed to Vali's plan—impersonating Ophis to fool the Khaos Brigade—Ophis usually sat in perfect stillness on the central throne.

And they expected him, a hyperactive monkey, to impersonate a statue? He'd managed for ten minutes, but now, his ADHD was kicking in.

"Vali, let's go for a walk," he suggested. "If Ophis suddenly decided to take a stroll, it shouldn't arouse too much suspicion, right?"

"Fine," Vali agreed, his face grim. "And it's a good opportunity to escape. I doubt Kuroka's coming back."

...

Just then, a deep voice echoed from the temple entrance.

"Ophis-sama, are you within?"

"Yes, Cao Cao-sama. But… Vali-sama is also present," a guard replied.

"It's fine. Open the doors," Cao Cao commanded.

Vali's eyes widened. He looked at Bikou, who stared back in disbelief. "Get back on the throne! Now! Remember the expression I showed you—Ophis's expression. And don't you dare screw this up!"

"Are you kidding me?! Of all times…" Bikou groaned, but he quickly composed himself, forcing his face into an impassive mask as he sat on the throne, his head slightly bowed.

The doors slowly opened.

A man with a dignified face and neatly styled black hair, dressed in traditional black Hanfu, entered the temple.

Vali's eyes narrowed. "Damn it… it's Cao Cao."

Cao Cao. A name familiar to anyone who knew Chinese history. The ambitious warlord from the Three Kingdoms era, whose exploits were chronicled in countless stories and legends.

The Hero Faction, a group descended from legendary heroes and warriors—and this man, their leader, was no exception.

He was a direct descendant of Cao Cao, bearing not only his bloodline but also his name.

Cao Cao's arrival was the worst-case scenario. As the Hero Faction's leader, his presence meant their entire leadership had likely returned to this base.

For Vali and Bikou, hoping to escape unnoticed, this was a disaster.

Their hearts pounded as Cao Cao approached.

Ignoring Vali, Cao Cao walked directly to the throne, giving a curt nod to Ophis before speaking.

"Ophis-sama, we require more of your… serpents. Our supply is dwindling."

'Ophis' looked at Cao Cao, then slowly raised a hand. A flash of light, and a pile of ouroboros serpents appeared before Cao Cao.

Cao Cao took the serpents, his face impassive, and turned to leave.

As the doors began to close, his expression changed. He'd been so focused on the serpents that he'd almost overlooked the flash of light from Ophis's hand.

...

Ophis's power usually manifested silently, without any visible display. And Ophis herself always radiated an overwhelming aura of power.

Something was wrong.

He spun around, smashing his fist through the temple doors. But the room was empty.

Cao Cao's face darkened as he saw the faint glow of the teleportation circle in the corner. He turned to the Hero Faction members who had gathered at the sound of the explosion.

"Vali has taken Ophis. Pursue them! Now!"

Meanwhile, a teleportation circle materialized on a desolate mountain in the Underworld. Vali and Bikou stumbled out.

Bikou immediately summoned his Kinto'un, grabbing Vali as they soared into the sky. "Move! Move! They'll be right behind us!"

"Head for Gremory territory! They'll pay for this! Lead the Hero Faction there!" Vali's voice was cold, his face grim.

Bikou's eyes blazed with fury. "Gladly! And we'll settle the score with that Red Dragon Emperor and that damned Nekoshou while we're at it!"
