Chasing Her To The End

Chapter 6: Mother and daughter's day

The next morning on the 15th of January, 2023 while Giselle was in bed with her daughter asleep, a call came in, jerking her out of her sleep.

How could she have forgotten to put her phone on do-not-disturb?

Reluctantly, holding her daughter close to her body, she reached for the phone that was placed on the drawer right beside her bed.

Her eyes were blurry as she looked at the screen so she had to close her eyes for some time. However, the call ended as she didn't answer on time.

After a few seconds, the phone began to ring again and when she opened her eyes this time she could now view the screen. Then, she saw that it was Rolland FaceTiming her very early in the morning.

"Do I disturb you, pretty?" With his lovely soothing voice, he asked in a British accent after she answered the call.

"You know you are," she said in a soft tone. "Of course, you disturb me, you are always early to wake," she sat up in her bed. .

"I'm sorry, pretty lady. I just wanted to talk to you, I have forgotten that our time zone is quite different," he continued, speaking in a British accent.

"Next time don't forget," she yawned and stretched, running her fingers through her hair. "I won't be going to work because I have a mother and daughter's day with my baby today."

"I see. I was also to remind you that you'd need an assistant over there. It is necessary and you should have an interview for that. I will suggest you involve yourself in the interview so you'd be able to choose, not only by application but by appearance. Others will help you with the interview so you do not have to worry so much about it."

"Should that be tomorrow?" She was grumbling.

"I miss you already, Giselle…" he said at the same time Giselle spoke so had to reply to her. "Of course. However it pleases you, my Queen.

"Thank you, King and of course, I miss you too. Dinner was great with my baby but not having you or Farida with me, made it quite incomplete."

"Just accept this moment as one where you and your daughter would spend quality time with each other. Farida and I have been in between."

"You are right," she always loved the way he viewed things, it was mostly positive.

"Hearing your voice and seeing your swollen beautiful face has made my day. I should leave you to sleep more," he was signaling to her that he was ending the call.

But until dawn arrived, even while she was brushing her teeth in the bathroom, they were still on call. They had said goodbye five times, yet another topic always rose and the conversation ended up lasting for two hours.

"Mommy," Daisy woke up and began to look for her mother. "Mommy, where are you?" She cried this time, causing Giselle to walk out of the bathroom.

"Mommy is here, you don't have to cry," lifting her daughter to sit in her arm, she said.

"You sleep with me but I do not see you again," she pressed her head on her Mom's shoulder.

"I'm sorry, next time I'll take you with me to the bathroom."

"I'm hungry, Mommy," Daisy said, playing with her Mom's long hair as she rested on her Mom's shoulder. She had stopped crying since her mother already assured her of next time.

"We'll know what we are eating after dressing up for today. If you take your bath on your own today, I'll get you two of what you need when we go out. Deal, my baby?"

"I want two ice creams," she declared in her tiny voice.

"You'll get it if you take your bath by yourself, without Mommy's help," in a singsong tone, Giselle said to her.

"Then I will," Daisy said determinant and left her mother's arm.

Giselle watched her daughter take her bath but had to help her in some ways. She watched her little girl brush her mouth as well and assisted her in adding lotion to her skin, styling her hair and dressing her up completely.

"Do you like today's look?" Giselle asked her daughter.

"Yes!" She nodded as she looked at her appearance in the mirror.

"Want a picture?"

"Yes!" She faced get mother who took pictures of her and saved it.

"We'll take more when we go out for mother and daughter's day."

"Yaaay!"

Her daughter's happiness is her happiness. Giselle got dressed up and left her room for breakfast.

Breakfast was swift. After some time, Giselle walked with her daughter to her car and placed the little girl in the back seat while she sat in the driver's seat.

Firstly, they visited the park and tried some tricky games. It was fun for both mother and daughter.

Daisy went down the slide and played on a seesaw with one of the kids whose parents were conversing with Giselle. They talked about how parenting can be hard and fun at the same time.

People didn't recognize Giselle as the CEO of Eve Company because she did not look as professional as she always did.

After a lovely time in the Park, Giselle bought the ice cream she promised her daughter and headed to the aquarium where she used to love when she was a child. As a child, she loved the aquarium because she saw new beautiful things that looked like food but as an adult, she loved the aquarium because it was peaceful and calm to one's soul.

She wanted to watch it again and feel relaxed.

Daisy finished one of the ice creams before getting to the aquarium, remaining the other, which she wanted but Mommy said later.

When Daisy saw the bluish appearance of the aquarium and how it felt like they were underwater, she giggled and hop even as her Mommy was holding her hand.

"What's that, Mommy?" She pointed to a sea creature but her mother didn't know.

"I do not know the name of that but I know that this is a shark, he's wicked and eats the little fishes," Giselle was only playing with her daughter as she knew that the little girl would grow and understand why larger fish like sharks feed on the little one.

"How cruel. I don't like sharks," Daisy concluded.

"I don't either."

"This place is betiful!" She said aloud. "I like to come again again again."

Giselle giggled. Her little girl was still working on her vocabulary but she was better than some kids, even though her accent wasn't totally American.

"I knew you'd love it."

With that, they explored as much as they wanted and it was very fun. Pictures were taken for memories and moments were made. It was a beautiful day for both mother and daughter. Rolland was right when he said it was time she spent quality time with her daughter and created beautiful memories.
