DC HERO AT MARVEL

Chapter 202: Chapter 202 I Think I Can

Wonder Woman appearance left everyone stunned.

While the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had been somewhat prepared for her arrival—though still awestruck—they felt more of an anticipated excitement rather than surprise.

The ones most profoundly shaken, however, were the Asgardian quartet and Thor, who stood beside Wonder Woman.

The raw, unrestrained divine power radiating from Wonder Woman left Thor, now stripped of his own godly power but still retaining his knowledge and insight, utterly astonished.

"Diana Prince, Wonder Woman, where are you fro—"

Thor, unable to suppress his curiosity, began to ask.

Before he could finish, a powerful beam of high-temperature energy shot toward them from a distance.

It was the Destroyer, which had just been sent flying by Wonder Woman. Its body, previously caved in on one side, had completely repaired itself in an instant. Rising to its full height, it launched a direct attack on Wonder Woman.

Boom!!

With a single thought, Wonder Woman, in her Anton-imbued form, summoned her divine shield and the Sword of Hephaestus.

Clang!!

The high-temperature beam was fully blocked by the divine shield.

The terrifying beam split and diverted to both sides of Wonder Woman, slamming into the crater floor.

In mere moments, the crater was transformed into a molten "quagmire" of lava.

Only the very center, where Mjolnir rested, and the ground beneath Wonder Woman and Thor feet, remained intact under her protection.

At this moment, the rising temperature twisted the air at the crater core. To onlookers, Wonder Woman and Thor appeared blurred, their images distorted by the searing heat.

Gulp!

One of the agents swallowed nervously, gripped by the overwhelming display of power on both sides.

Hawkeye, watching this scene, looked grim.

Even with his Extremis-enhanced abilities to raise his body temperature, such an extreme level of heat would almost certainly vaporize him instantly, enhanced or not.

Meanwhile, the Asgardian quartet, now moved to safety by the agents, huddled together.

Having lost their ability to fight, they could do nothing but watch the battle unfold, powerless to assist their newly arrived ally.

"Wonder Woman, Diana Prince... Who exactly is she?"

Sif turned to her companions, who were in even worse condition than she was. "Have you heard of her before?"

"No," the Warriors Three replied in unison, shaking their heads.

Immediately, their gazes shifted toward Coulson, the mortal leader among them.

Sif continued,

"The divine power radiating from her is incredibly strong. This indicates she has noble godly bloodline—definitely not a human from Earth.

Yet, you Earthlings don't seem surprised by her appearance. So, you must know who she is."

"Yes," Coulson nodded, then added with some surprise,

"She Diana Prince, the daughter of Zeus and the Amazon Queen Hippolyta. You can call her Wonder Woman.

In other words, she Thor daughter. Since you're Thor comrades, how could you not know her?"

"What?"

Sif and the others were stunned, utterly astonished.

"She Thor daughter? Impossible! We grew up with Thor.

We've never heard of an Amazon Queen, nor have we ever seen Thor with a child… She cannot possibly be Thor daughter!"

"Oh?"

Hearing this, Coulson frowned.

He didn't think Sif and the others were lying, but he also didn't believe Anton was deceiving him.

This made things interesting!

If there was no Amazonian tribe in this world, then what was Wonder Woman true identity?

Coulson turned to look at Anton.

Anton, however, had no interest in explaining. Some things became harder to clarify the more one tried.

After all, he wasn't lying—Wonder Woman was the daughter of Zeus and Queen Hippolyta, just not from this universe pantheon.

Focusing on the scene before him, Anton narrowed his eyes and directed most of his attention to Wonder Woman avatar.

At this moment, Wonder Woman and the Destroyer clashed once again.

This time, the Destroyer controller, Loki, far away in Asgard, realized he was facing a formidable opponent.

He removed all limitations on the Destroyer, unleashing a terrifying and seemingly infinite energy that surged through its body.

Whoosh!

The power of the high-temperature beam increased.

Wonder Woman raised her shield to block it and swung her sword to counterattack.

Boom!!

Another tremendous explosion erupted, accompanied by a thunderous roar.

Flames shot into the sky, and lava exploded outward in all directions. In an instant, the area became perilous, forcing everyone nearby to dodge desperately to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

Thor remained standing beside Mjolnir.

He no longer expected to lift the hammer at this critical moment. Instead, he watched the fierce battle before him with a solemn gaze and couldn't help but shout:

"The Destroyer was created by my father as the ultimate weapon.

It holds near-infinite energy and possesses unparalleled self-repair capabilities.

To defeat the Destroyer, you must destroy it in an instant!"

An instant destruction?

Anton pondered for a moment. With a slash, he struck the Destroyer shoulder, nearly severing one of its arms.

Leaping back several steps, he watched as the Destroyer wounds healed rapidly within moments.

He knew Thor wasn't exaggerating. To defeat the Destroyer, it had to be completely destroyed in an instant.

That was precisely how it happened in the original storyline.

Thor regained his godly powers, lifted Mjolnir, and unleashed divine might to take down the Destroyer in one decisive strike.

It wasn't that Wonder Woman was weaker than Thor at full strength, but her divine powers differed significantly from Thor lightning-infused godly attributes in terms of explosive force.

That said, Wonder Woman wasn't without her own devastating moves.

Using the guardian bracelets on her forearms, she could channel her divine energy into a massive energy blast.

In some instances, this move could even harm Superman—though it depended on which version of Superman and his current state.

Regardless, its power was undeniable.

Whoosh!

Under everyone watchful eyes, Wonder Woman stowed her divine shield and the Sword of Hephaestus.

Spreading her arms, she prepared to bring her guardian bracelets together.

Everyone widened their eyes, realizing that Wonder Woman was about to go all out.

Those familiar with the movies, particularly the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, grew even more excited.

In the films, Diana Prince used this move to severely wound Ares, the God of War.

But in reality, what kind of power would this move unleash?

They held their breath, waiting for the result.

Boom!!

In an instant, the air vibrated, shockwaves erupted, the ground trembled, and terrifying divine energy rippled outward, plunging the world into chaos.

The Asgardian quartet and Thor widened their eyes, feeling the overwhelming energy around them.

"This level of divine energy…"

Sif gasped. "She must have the blood of a god-king in her veins! Could she really be Thor illegitimate daughter?"

"Impossible!"

Volstagg firmly rejected Sif speculation.

"For thousands of years, we've been by Thor side almost constantly. If he had an illegitimate daughter, we would've known.

But one thing certain—this woman, Wonder Woman, must have ties to the gods."

"I agree with Volstagg."

Fandral and Hogun nodded.

Meanwhile…

Far away in Asgard, Loki, seated on the throne and controlling the Destroyer, also foresaw the devastating strike coming.

He wasn't about to let Wonder Woman have her way.

Buzzing!

Loki commanded the Destroyer to operate at full capacity. Its internal energy surged to its peak, unleashing its ultimate power.

The metal joints of the Destroyer body—striped like a zebra—began to glow brightly with fiery red light.

The air twisted and boiled around it, and the ground beneath its feet melted into a lake of lava.

The Destroyer seemed to hover above the molten lake, its face locked onto Wonder Woman.

Both sides were readying their ultimate attacks.

Everyone watched without blinking, afraid to miss a second of the spectacle.

Boom!

The Destroyer unleashed a high-temperature beam packed with all its energy. It shot out from its face like lightning, hurtling straight toward Wonder Woman, its energy so overwhelming it sent chills down spines.

Under Anton control, Wonder Woman brought her guardian bracelets together after charging them with divine energy.

Boom!

The bracelets released an explosive divine energy wave.

In an instant, dust and debris filled the air, shockwaves rolled outward, and the ground quaked.

The transparent ripples in the air became tangible, spreading like waves on a lake.

An unparalleled surge of divine power manifested.

The terrifying energy wave met the incoming high-temperature beam head-on.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

At the point of collision between the divine wave and the beam, hurricane-force winds exploded outward.

The agents nearby were thrown off balance by the powerful gusts. Even Coulson staggered, his face tense with anxiety.

Only Hawkeye stood firm, though his expression mirrored his companions' unease.

It was fortunate such a battle was taking place in the wilderness!

Hawkeye couldn't imagine the devastation if this battle were happening in a city—it would have leveled an enormous area.

At the center of the crater, Thor stood beside Mjolnir, completely ignoring the seething lava and the marks of battle around him.

He fixed his gaze on the point of collision, awaiting the final outcome.

The power Wonder Woman had unleashed was on par with what he once wielded as the God of Thunder.

However, with the Destroyer operating at full capacity and controlled by Loki, the result remained uncertain.

Even Thor, with his wealth of battle experience, couldn't predict the conclusion.

Finally.

The turbulent air currents began to subside.

Wonder Woman stood in place, a large crater beneath her feet. She was breathing heavily, her chest rising and falling, clearly having expended significant energy.

But she was completely unharmed—not a single strand of her hair was out of place.

Opposite her, the Destroyer entire chest cavity had been blown open by the divine energy wave, leaving an unprecedentedly large hole.

Flames burned and swirled within the cavity.

The Destroyer face glowed intermittently with red light, flickering on and off, as though it were suffering from a power disruption.

"Energy core damaged?"

Thor instantly recognized the Destroyer current state.

Even so, his expression did not improve; instead, it grew darker.

"Damn it!"

"Wonder Woman strength is significantly depleted. She may not be able to sustain high-intensity combat any longer!"

At the same time, the Asgardian quartet standing near the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents also realized the Destroyer condition.

"To fight the Destroyer to this extent is already an incredible feat!"

"Don't forget, this is the ultimate weapon created by the All-Father, Odin, during his prime…"

"Even Thor, at his peak, would have a tough time dealing with the Destroyer!"

The quartet felt a pang of despair.

Thor, however, did not. His gaze locked onto Wonder Woman, and he couldn't help but shout a reminder:

"You've damaged the Destroyer energy core, but you haven't completely destroyed it… It still repairing itself! You're so close—just a little more!"

Wonder Woman heard him, but her flawless face showed no emotion.

Then.

In front of everyone—S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, the Asgardian quartet, Thor, and even Loki, the Destroyer distant controller—Wonder Woman began walking slowly toward the center of the crater, stopping beside Thor.

"What are you doing?"

Thor was visibly startled. Then, as realization dawned, his eyes widened in shock. He turned to his old friend and exclaimed in astonishment:

"You're going to lift Mjolnir?!"

"I think I can," Wonder Woman said calmly, her tone laced with unwavering determination.

It was as if…

She was absolutely certain she could lift the hammer.
