DC Heroes in Marvel

Chapter 172: C153(2)

"That's right," Anton admitted without hesitation. "Megatron is indeed under our control. He's in a dormant state and, for now, completely contained. If you wanted to eliminate him, it would be relatively easy."

Anton continued, his tone matter-of-fact. "So your assumptions are wrong. Even if Megatron dreams of using the AllSpark to conquer Earth and the universe, that's all it is—just a dream. Both Megatron and the AllSpark are firmly in our hands. What ability does he have to carry out these plans?"

He finished and looked at the two Autobots, waiting for their response.

What he had said was mostly true—he'd simply omitted certain details. How Bumblebee and Optimus Prime processed this information was out of his hands.

"This…"

Bumblebee was at a loss for words. He wanted to argue that Megatron wasn't the only threat. The Decepticons, Megatron's loyal followers, were still active, and some were likely searching for their leader. The earlier encounter with Barricade was proof of that.

The Earth was still in danger.

But as the words formed in his mind, Bumblebee recalled his earlier conversations with Batman and Cyborg. It was clear to him now that the Earthlings weren't ignorant of the Decepticons.

On the contrary, they appeared to have everything under control. Interference from the Autobots could potentially disrupt their plans. This realization left Bumblebee speechless.

Beside him, Optimus Prime's expression was complicated.

He hadn't expected this. Megatron, his rival for countless years and the enemy he had clashed with in so many battles, had been "captured" by humans?

Whether Megatron was a true prisoner or merely contained didn't matter. The fact that he was under Earth's control was undeniable.

Behind Anton, Tom and Keller exchanged glances.

They couldn't shake the feeling that Anton—Batman—was bluffing. But even if that were true, his statements had clearly rattled the Autobots. And that, in itself, was a small victory.

Indeed, having a reliable teammate who could bluff so effectively felt like winning a battle without even fighting.

Suddenly, the sound of approaching vehicles interrupted their thoughts.

A strange roar echoed through the junkyard, mechanical yet distinctly alien.

Everyone turned toward the noise, and what they saw left them stunned.

An armored car was approaching, its engine growling with an otherworldly ferocity.

Optimus Prime and Bumblebee stood ready, immediately recognizing the newcomer as a Decepticon—Bonecrusher!

Bonecrusher, on the other hand, was equally stunned upon arrival. Not only was Bumblebee present, but Optimus Prime as well?

Though Bonecrusher was known for his recklessness, even he wasn't completely ignorant of his limits. If it were just Bumblebee or Optimus Prime, he'd be confident enough to roll up his sleeves and fight. But both of them?

The outcome was obvious.

If Bonecrusher had the strength to take on both Optimus Prime and Bumblebee at once, Megatron himself would have crowned him leader of the Decepticons long ago!

Even Megatron wouldn't dare claim he could easily defeat both Autobots in a head-to-head fight.

It's worth noting that in Transformers 5, Bumblebee briefly faced off against Megatron. While Bumblebee was at a clear disadvantage, he managed to hold his ground, proving that he had at least some capacity to resist the Decepticon leader.

Similarly, Bumblebee also clashed with a darkened Optimus Prime in the same movie. Though the result wasn't much better, these battles confirmed that Bumblebee's combat prowess, while not exceptional, was far from weak.

Without hesitation, Bonecrusher turned and tried to flee.

But before he could escape, a silver figure appeared, hovering about three meters above the ground and blocking his retreat.

Who was this?

Bonecrusher eyed the figure with disdain. A mere human?

BOOM!

The next moment, a powerful sonic blast hit the armored vehicle, sending it flying through the air.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Bonecrusher rolled across the ground several times before transforming back into his robot form, finally regaining his footing.

"How is this possible?"

Bonecrusher's voice was filled with disbelief. He stared at the much smaller figure before him, utterly shocked that a human—a being barely a tenth his size—had struck him so violently.

"Is this... human power?"

Optimus Prime, watching from the side, was also taken aback.

His gaze shifted to the man called "Cyborg," who stood calmly, facing down Bonecrusher. This was the first time Optimus Prime had witnessed the extraordinary strength of humanity firsthand.

This power wasn't just comparable to many Transformers—it was arguably greater.

So this is why Earth's people are so confident, Optimus Prime thought. Batman, the Justice League superheroes, Iron Man, who played a pivotal role during the recent alien attack in New York—all of them seemed to possess abilities that made humans far more formidable than he had initially believed.

But before Optimus Prime could delve deeper into his thoughts, Bonecrusher, realizing escape was impossible, shifted his focus.

His red eyes glowed with murderous intent, and with a mechanical roar, he charged at Cyborg without hesitation.

Elsewhere, at a military base...

Meanwhile, Starscream had been monitoring Bonecrusher's progress while investigating the identities of the humans involved. Suddenly, his dashboard began to flicker, the lights blinking erratically.

For a moment, Starscream froze. His circuits buzzed with disbelief.

Bonecrusher's signal had vanished.

"Again?!" Starscream screeched internally. His frustration was palpable.

Why did it always end like this?

With Megatron still missing, the Decepticons only had eight active members on Earth. And now, another one had disappeared.

Starscream's metallic hands clenched tightly as he cursed his misfortune.

Starscream, Megatron, Barricade, Frenzy, scorponok, and Bonecrusher.

At the moment, three of them have been confirmed missing: Barricade, Frenzy, and Bonecrusher. To put it more accurately, Starscream knew in his heart that most of these three were likely gone.

In addition, Megatron, who had been missing from the start, also needed to be counted.

Starscream didn't believe Megatron was dead, so he continued to team up with other Decepticons, searching for any trace of their leader. The pair of glasses that had appeared in an online auction seemed to be a clue.

Barricade had been sent to find those glasses before he disappeared. As for Frenzy... well, he could only be considered unlucky. He chose to follow Barricade, and now, he was missing too.

Starscream focused his thoughts, speculating that Megatron might be in trouble and unable to escape.

"Agent in sector 7, Simmons..."

Suddenly, the results of his investigation appeared.

By matching data, Starscream had borrowed the authority of a certain general to access the military division base's internal network and uncover clues about sector 7.

Some of the information matched what had been found during the investigation by Blackout and Scorponok when they destroyed the military base in Qatar.

"NBE... non-biological aliens!"

Starscream hesitated. Could it be that Megatron had encountered trouble on Earth?

Since arriving on Earth, Starscream had struggled to solve a few lingering questions. The technological structure of humanity seemed alarmingly similar to that of the Transformers.

Though most technological civilizations in the universe follow similar paths, the technology on Earth seemed particularly close to that of the Transformers.

Whether it was fighter jets, cars, communication devices, circuits, or lasers, everything seemed inexplicably familiar, as though it were technology directly inspired by the Transformers themselves.

If it weren't for this, neither the Decepticons nor Autobots could hide so seamlessly on Earth.

"If Megatron is really controlled by humans..."

Starscream entertained a dangerous thought, one that made him incredibly excited: "He won't be dismantled by humans, right?"

If he is...

I can be the boss!

Starscream's mind ran wild with possibilities.

As a Decepticon who always coveted the leadership role and considered himself "like-minded" with Megatron in his hunger for power, Starscream eagerly wished for Megatron's downfall. That would clear the path for him to rise to the top.

To be honest, if it weren't for Megatron's terrifying power and deep prestige, which had survived for thousands of years—even after disappearing for long stretches—Starscream would have already claimed the title of Decepticon leader.

A lieutenant? That was far beneath Starscream's ambitions.
