Doki Doki: A God's Life In A World He Didn't Want To Be In

Chapter 8: Familiars

Hikari was in class with Natsuki and Yuri, as his disk was always between them, his mask was back on as the teacher started to explain

The Teacher was man in his 30s as he had black hair and well defined suit

The Teacher looked at them. "Today we will leaarn about Familiar's"

The teacher walked to the front of the class, his voice commanding attention. "Familiars are magical creatures that bond with their summoners, aiding them in battle and other tasks," he explained, writing the word Familiar on the board. "They can range from small, weak beings to incredibly powerful entities. In many cases, a familiar can even influence the strength of its master."

Hikari sat quietly, his mask firmly in place, pretending to listen. Inwardly, he was only half-interested—familiars didn't seem to matter much to a god like him.

Natsuki raised her hand. "Can we choose what familiar we summon?"

The teacher smiled slightly. "Sometimes, yes. But most of the time, the familiar you summon is based on your magic affinity and personality. It reflects who you truly are."

Hikari couldn't help but smirk under his mask. What would my familiar be? He thought to himself sarcastically. A cat like Leahcim? Or something even worse?

Yuri, beside him, whispered. "Hikari, do you think you'll summon a strong familiar?"

Hikari glanced at her, his fake smile in place. "Maybe. We'll see."

The class continued, and the students were instructed to prepare for their first familiar summoning. The air buzzed with excitement.

Hikari looked at small paper, as it had a magical circle drawn on it, his eyes narrowed at it

Hikari just spoke. "It feels like we are trying to summon a demon"

Natsuki just spoke to him. "I know right, but these are giving by WSC"

Hikari just sigehd, the WSC or Wizard Safety Commission, he never Trusted then so up, as because of how similar they were from HSPSC from MHA, so he was not going to every trust then, but right now he needs to play along.

The teacher then spoke. "Remeber what every you get remeber it will 110% fit your self, there has never been a mistake"

Hikari sighed and then spoke in his head. "What ever I summoned is going to ask much Emotionless as me...or will be similar to the original Hikari that got killed, and why do I feel it is going to be Dragon or Hydra".

As Hikari pondered the implications of summoning a familiar, he couldn't shake off the unease brewing inside him. The teacher continued explaining the process, but Hikari's mind wandered back to his past—his previous life, the weight of being a god, and the emotional void that haunted him.

The teacher clapped his hands, bringing everyone back to attention. "Alright, class, it's time to begin the summoning process. Follow the instructions on the paper carefully. Remember, your familiar will be a reflection of your true self."

Hikari furrowed his brow. A reflection of my true self? He thought. What if the summoning only brings out the worst parts of me?

Natsuki leaned over and whispered, "You're thinking too much about this, Hikari. Just go with the flow. It'll be fine!" Her reassurance was faint, but it helped to ground him momentarily.

As the students prepared their circles, Hikari couldn't help but notice the excitement radiating from Natsuki and Yuri. They were hopeful, filled with dreams of magical creatures that could aid them on their journey. But Hikari felt no such thrill; instead, a sense of dread enveloped him.

The teacher instructed everyone to start the summoning. "Focus your energy into the magical circle. Speak the incantation written on your paper. Don't hold back!"

Hikari took a deep breath, aligning himself with the energy flowing around him. He traced the circle with his finger, the magical symbols glowing softly. As he began the incantation, the air thickened, crackling with energy.

"By the bonds of fate, I call forth a being from beyond! Appear before me, and grant me your power!"

In that moment, the circle erupted with a blinding light. Hikari squinted against the brilliance as a form began to materialize before him. It was tall and majestic, the outline shifting and shimmering. As the light faded, Hikari's heart raced at the sight before him.

Standing there was a creature with glistening scales that seemed to shift colors in the light—a dragon, just as he had feared. Its wings were vast, spanning across the room, and its piercing eyes locked onto Hikari, filled with ancient wisdom and a hint of mischief.

"So, you're the one who summoned me?" the dragon spoke, its voice deep and resonant, echoing in the classroom. "I am Valerion, your familiar, and I sense the burden you carry."

Hikari's mind raced. A dragon? Really? He had expected something, but this was beyond anything he could have imagined. "I… I'm Hikari. Why are you here?"

Valerion let out a low chuckle, "I am here because you called me. But know this, I am more than just a tool for you. I am a partner, and together, we shall unlock your true potential."

Hikari felt a flicker of something he hadn't felt in a long time—curiosity. "What do you mean by my true potential?"

"The power within you is dormant, waiting to be awakened. You are not just a god; you are a being of immense strength. But your detachment is a barrier you must break." Valerion's eyes glinted with determination.

Hikari considered the dragon's words. Could it be that he held more power than he realized? That there was a path to regain what he had lost?

As the class continued with other students summoning their familiars, Hikari found himself at a crossroads. He had summoned a creature that embodied the strength he yearned for, yet he also realized that true strength was not just in power but in the connections he could forge with others.

Natsuki's voice broke through his thoughts, "Hikari, look! I summoned a… um, a cat?"

She held up a small, fluffy creature with bright blue eyes and a mischievous demeanor. It was far from what she had hoped for, but it was clear that Natsuki adored it already.

Yuri, on the other hand, had summoned a delicate-looking fox with shimmering silver fur. "Isn't she beautiful?" Yuri said, her eyes sparkling with joy.

As Hikari observed the bond forming between his classmates and their familiars, he felt a stir within him. Maybe, just maybe, this dragon could help him not just regain his power, but also teach him how to feel again.

"Valerion," Hikari spoke, "if we're going to do this together, I need your help to understand not just my power, but myself. Can you help me with that?"

"Of course, Hikari. Together, we shall forge a bond that transcends the boundaries of magic and emotion."

With that, Hikari felt a newfound resolve. Perhaps the path ahead would be filled with challenges, but he was no longer alone. With Valerion by his side, he could explore the depths of his own heart, confront the ghosts of his past, and reclaim the true essence of who he was meant to be.

As the class ended, Hikari left the classroom with a flicker of hope igniting in his chest. The journey was just beginning, and he was ready to face it head-on, dragons and all.

As then Valerian turned into a Chibi as it's wings falyed and landed on his head

Hikari just blinked. "Will this is something".

Hikari blinked in surprise as Valerion transformed into a chibi version of himself, complete with oversized eyes and tiny, flapping wings. The dragon landed gently on Hikari's head, looking even more adorable than intimidating.

"This is much more comfortable!" Valerion chirped in a high-pitched voice, his tiny wings fluttering excitedly. "Plus, I can keep an eye on you like this!"

Hikari couldn't help but smirk at the sight. "So, you can go from terrifying dragon to cute little creature in the blink of an eye, huh?"

"Exactly!" Valerion squeaked. "And it'll help you lighten up a bit. You seem a bit too serious for a god!"

"Well, I have my reasons," Hikari replied, his tone a mix of amusement and seriousness. "But I suppose having a tiny dragon on my head is one way to change my perspective."

As he walked through the bustling hallways of the school, students glanced at the chibi dragon perched on Hikari's head, their expressions a mix of awe and envy. Natsuki and Yuri hurried to catch up with him, their familiars in tow.

Natsuki laughed, "Hikari, you look so ridiculous right now! But in a cute way!"

"Thanks, I think?" Hikari replied, rolling his eyes but unable to hide a small smile. "I guess this is what I signed up for."

Yuri's fox, which had taken to prancing beside her, glanced up at Valerion with curiosity. "Do you talk?" it asked, tilting its head.

"Of course!" Valerion chirped back, puffing out his tiny chest. "I'm here to help Hikari become the best version of himself. But I can also have a little fun along the way!"

"You're full of surprises, aren't you?" Yuri said, a bright smile lighting up her face. "I can't wait to see what you two get up to!"

Hikari felt a warmth spreading through him at their enthusiasm. For the first time in a long while, he found himself feeling a bit lighter, the burden of his past life easing just a little. Maybe this partnership with Valerion would help him connect with others as well.

As they reached the library, the trio entered, the smell of old books and parchment filling the air. Hikari led the way, determined to find answers about magical creatures and the nature of familiars. Valerion perched atop his head, observing everything with keen interest.

"What's our first mission, oh wise and powerful master?" Valerion teased, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

"First, we need to figure out what exactly we're dealing with," Hikari replied, scanning the shelves filled with thick tomes and scrolls. "I need to know if there are more creatures like you and what abilities they might have."

As they settled down at a table, Yuri began searching through the books, her face lighting up when she found a thick volume titled Magical Creatures of Our World. "Here it is! This might have some information on familiars!"

Natsuki leaned over, peering at the cover. "Let's see if we can find anything about dragons!"

Together, the three of them flipped through the pages, searching for illustrations and descriptions. Valerion, feeling adventurous, hopped down from Hikari's head and began to flutter around the table, examining the books with wide-eyed curiosity.

"Oh! What about this one?" Natsuki exclaimed, pointing to a page featuring a majestic dragon with shimmering scales. "This one looks just like you, Valerion!"

"That's a Fire Drake!" Valerion chimed in, puffing up his tiny chest again. "But I'm much cuter!"

Hikari chuckled, feeling the atmosphere shift as laughter and excitement filled the library. For the first time in a while, he felt a sense of belonging.

"You know, maybe this is what I needed—a fresh start, some friends, and a cute dragon companion," he thought to himself, a small smile creeping onto his face.

As the day went on, they discovered various magical creatures, learning about their strengths, weaknesses, and the unique bonds they shared with their summoners. Hikari absorbed the information, intrigued by the idea that each familiar had its own personality and role to play.

The more they delved into the lore of familiars, the more Hikari realized that perhaps this journey wasn't just about summoning power; it was also about forging connections and embracing the emotions he had long buried.

"You're getting a lot more relaxed," Valerion noted, now back on Hikari's head. "See? I told you this would be fun!"

Hikari nodded, his resolve strengthening. "Yeah, it really is. And I think I'm ready to explore what this world has to offer."

As they continued their research, the feeling of hope blossomed in Hikari's heart, a stark contrast to the detachment he had once felt. With Valerion and his friends by his side, he was determined to uncover not just the magic of the world, but the magic within himself.
