The moonlight illuminated the vast forest surrounding the headquarters of the Immaculate Moon Sect. Atop a hill, Yue Lian sat, her eyes closed, the Silent Moon martial spirit glowing faintly around her. Her silver hair, reflecting the moonlight, and her cold eyes made her look like a spectre in the middle of the night. She was the most promising disciple of the sect, but behind that flawless facade, there was a past that kept her chained.
In her meditations, her mother's face appeared like a recurring shadow. She clearly remembered the night her home was attacked by enemies from the rival sect. She was only seven years old when her mother sacrificed herself to save her, using herself as a shield against a lethal blow. Ever since then, Yue Lian had sworn that she would never allow her emotions to control her. Feelings were a weakness, and weakness meant death.
"Yue Lian," a voice said behind her. It was the sect master, a man with a stern look but a calm voice. "I've been looking for you."
Yue Lian slowly stood up, his face as expressionless as ever. "What's wrong, master?"
The old man walked towards her, his footsteps echoing in the stillness of the night. "There's an important competition coming up. The Eternal Sun Sect will be participating and I want you to represent our sect."
"The Eternal Sun Sect?" Yue Lian raised an eyebrow. She had heard rumors about them, especially about a disciple named Xu Tian, known for his arrogance and dazzling martial spirit. "If that's what you wish, I will do it."
"There's something else," the master continued, his tone more serious. "You might face someone who carries the spirit of the Blazing Sun. If the rumors are true, that young man could be the key to an ancient prophesied event."
"The eclipse?" Yue Lian asked, his voice calm but filled with interest.
The master ascended. "Exactly. When the Sun and Moon meet, it may be the beginning of a momentous change. We need to understand what your role in it will be."
Yue Lian clenched her fists. She did not like the idea of depending on another, much less someone with a spirit opposite to her own. However, her sense of duty towards the sect was unwavering. "If that is the will of the sect, then so be it."
"Remember, Yue Lian," the master said as he walked away, "true power lies not only in strength, but in balance."
When she was left alone, Yue Lian looked up at the moon. The thought of meeting the bearer of the Blazing Sun did not worry her, but something in her master's words made her uneasy. What kind of person would someone with such a bright and scorching spirit be?
The wind blew gently, bringing with it a deep silence. Yue Lian knew that her path was full of challenges, but she was determined to face them with the same coolness and precision that had always characterized her. His goal was clear: to protect his sect and prove that the Moon could eclipse the Sun.
