Douluo : Diary System in Douluo Continent

Chapter 139: Chapter 138: Emotional Outburst – Tang San: Xiao Wu, Run!

Under the watchful eyes of the group, Ning Rongrong suddenly fainted. Zhu Zhuqing swiftly caught her and, puzzled, wondered why Rongrong had collapsed so suddenly. Clearly, Su Ming had done something.

Zhu Zhuqing nodded at Su Ming before carrying Ning Rongrong to the wooden dragon. Tang San also glanced at Su Ming in surprise. Moments ago, he had sensed a significant mental power fluctuation. He hadn't expected Su Ming's spiritual abilities to be this advanced.

In reality, Ning Rongrong hadn't actually fainted. She had merely gone along with the act. Su Ming had underestimated the strength of her spiritual power, which had been enhanced by the system. To avoid causing her discomfort upon waking, Su Ming had controlled the intensity, ensuring she wasn't truly unconscious.

Oscar had once held some goodwill toward Su Ming. On Su Ming's first day at the academy, he had gifted Oscar a storage soul tool and upgraded his dorm. However, things had grown subtly awkward since then. Was it when he mentioned his interest in pursuing Ning Rongrong? Oscar guessed it was, and their relationship had cooled since then, though they hadn't known each other for long.

A few days ago, Su Ming had publicly pointed out the limitations of Oscar's Flying Mushroom Sausage. While its current usefulness wasn't in question, Su Ming had made it clear that the skill would be almost obsolete in the future. Although Oscar knew Su Ming was right, resentment still simmered in his heart. The critique stung his pride, especially since he had hoped the skill would earn admiration from others, particularly Ning Rongrong. Now, everyone viewed it as mediocre, leaving Oscar feeling bitter and unbalanced.

Tang San, on the other hand, felt complicated. While he appreciated Su Ming's honesty, he also experienced a perverse sense of satisfaction. Over the years, Su Ming had overshadowed him repeatedly. Tang San didn't believe for a second that Su Ming could handle the Titan Giant Ape—a top-tier, hundred-thousand-year soul beast. Su Ming was surely walking into a death trap.

And if Su Ming did die… would Xiao Wu finally become his sister again? Tang San couldn't deny it: his feelings for Xiao Wu had grown increasingly difficult to suppress.

But Xiao Wu didn't move. Instead, she stayed by Su Ming's side. Tang San hurriedly shouted, "Xiao Wu, teleport over here! Don't let Su Ming's efforts go to waste!"

Xiao Wu ignored him. Her plan had always been to return to Star Dou Lake with Brother Su Ming. It had been a long time since she visited her home, and this felt like bringing a boyfriend to meet her family. A pang of sadness struck her as she thought about how nice it would be if her mother were still alive. However, she believed that Brother Su Ming would eventually find a way to bring her mother back to life. She only worried about the side effects of such a feat—how severe could they be?

Although much had just unfolded, it all happened quickly due to the urgency of the moment.

Er Ming (the Titan Giant Ape) didn't stop them from leaving. Instead, he turned his gaze toward Su Ming and Xiao Wu. Having fulfilled the tasks Xiao Wu assigned him, it was time for them to go.

Er Ming extended his massive right hand, reaching for Su Ming. Su Ming offered minimal resistance, feigning exhaustion. His face paled as his spirit power seemingly drained, and in the blink of an eye, Er Ming grabbed him.

As Su Ming was captured, he shouted to the others, "Run, quickly!"

At his command, the wooden dragon shot out at tremendous speed, carrying the others away. Ning Rongrong, still "unconscious," felt her soul power rapidly recovering. She guessed the wooden dragon was transferring some of its energy to her—a testament to Su Ming's skill. After all, if the wooden dragon could absorb a soul master's power to replenish itself, it could also reverse the process to restore its rider.

Caught in the Titan Giant Ape's hand, Su Ming could feel the immense pressure surrounding him. Silently, he cursed Er Ming for his lack of gentleness. Though his physical body was strong, it wasn't durable enough to withstand Er Ming's full grip.

Unbeknownst to Su Ming, Er Ming had already reduced his strength significantly. Otherwise, Su Ming's condition would have been far worse.

Xiao Wu, seeing Su Ming captured, grew anxious and teleported to his side, kicking at Er Ming's massive hand. Her attacks, of course, had no effect. Er Ming was baffled by her actions. What was Xiao Wu trying to do?

Without much thought, Er Ming used his other hand to gently scoop up Xiao Wu. From a distance, Tang San's eyes reddened with frustration as he yelled, "Xiao Wu! Use your teleportation to escape! Hurry!"

But Xiao Wu didn't. Tang San couldn't understand why she wasn't fleeing. Was it because of some restriction? Perhaps the Titan Giant Ape had used its domain to suppress her?

Tang San's imagination ran wild, growing increasingly distraught. Watching Xiao Wu recklessly attack the Titan Giant Ape—a creature she couldn't even scratch—he realized something devastating. Xiao Wu's feelings for Su Ming had already surpassed the bounds of sibling affection.

If he didn't act soon, it would be too late.

Tang San's suspicions were partly correct. Xiao Wu's teleportation was indeed limited under the absolute power of a hundred-thousand-year soul beast. However, Er Ming hadn't actually restricted her movements. His left hand was only loosely holding her, far gentler than his grip on Su Ming.

Xiao Wu's emotions toward Su Ming had subtly shifted over the past six years. His unwavering kindness had touched her deeply, filling the void left by her mother's absence. It was no longer the love of a sibling—it was something more, something romantic.

The Titan Giant Ape, watching Zhao Wuji and the others retreat on the wooden dragon, made no move to stop them. With Su Ming and Xiao Wu in hand, he turned and left.

Tang San stood rooted in place, his emotions finally exploding. He realized he didn't just want Xiao Wu as a sister—he wanted her as his lover. When had these feelings begun? Perhaps from the very first moment he saw her, he had fallen in love.

As for Su Ming? Tang San didn't care. If Su Ming died, all the better. Then Xiao Wu would finally be his.
