Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Team Training
Chapter 68: Team Training
As class time arrived, everyone in the classroom fell silent, and the teacher entered.
Just as expected, the teachers of Heaven Dou Academy's Sky Tier classes were all powerful Soul Emperors. The homeroom teacher for this class was a Level 67 Soul Emperor. When he entered, the room quickly grew quiet.
The teacher appeared to be a middle-aged man in his forties. "Hello, everyone. I'm Sun Xiang, the homeroom teacher of Sky Tier Class A. My spirit is the Giant Strength Bear, and I'm a Level 66 Power Attack Soul Emperor. I hope you all work hard so you can graduate early."
His introduction was brief, and he then asked the class to introduce themselves by name, spirit, and level. As Yang Potian had guessed, most students were between Level 30 and 35, with only a handful reaching Levels 35 to 40 and a few even surpassing 40.
When it was Yang Potian's turn, he shared his own spirit and level. Everyone quickly realized that he was the prodigy who had enrolled just the day before, which had stirred up the academy.
The content of the morning's classes was fairly straightforward—mostly general cultivation knowledge. For Yang Potian, it was only somewhat useful, far less than what he had already learned at home.
The morning consisted of three one-hour classes, all taught by powerful Soul Emperors. However, for Yang Potian, this level was no longer impressive; his own father had already reached the Soul Douluo rank.
During breaks, many classmates came over to introduce themselves, including the only Soul Elder in the class, who seemed interested in recruiting Yang Potian to the academy's main battle team. Yang Potian declined politely.
After class, Yang Potian ate lunch alone in the cafeteria, reflecting on how the morning had been a waste of time. The lessons had little practical value to him; he would have been better off meditating in his dorm.
With no classes in the afternoon, Heaven Dou Academy students were free to train. Most chose to spend the time in their preferred mimicry environments or go to the Arena for sparring.
Meanwhile, Yang Potian had arranged for his team to meet at Training Field #3.
At one o'clock sharp, everyone had arrived, including their support teacher, Mr. Li, as well as Dugu Yan and Ye Lingling.
Once everyone had gathered, Mr. Li took the lead, introducing himself. "Hello, everyone. I'm Li Xiang, a Level 56 Power Attack Soul King, with the Black Hawk spirit. I'll be assisting with team-related matters, so feel free to come to me with any questions."
After a few interactions with him, Yang Potian found Mr. Li to be straightforward and practical. He wasn't pretentious, which made things easier; Mr. Li would be a useful resource for the team.
After Li Xiang's introduction, the team members introduced themselves again. Ye Lingling, often veiled in mystery with her face covered, created a sense of intrigue, while Dugu Yan was familiar to most as they had all met previously at the Yang Clan.
Once introductions were done, Yang Potian addressed the group. "Today, our team officially forms. As most of you know, I'm strict with others and even stricter with myself."
"Starting today, each of you will run 50 kilometers with weights every day. Beyond that, focus on meditating to increase your spirit power. My goal is for all of you to reach Level 25 within three years. Once you've achieved that, you'll start daily solo and duo sparring in the Arena until each of you has earned the Silver Soul Badge."
The group was visibly taken aback, and several gulped nervously. With Tai Long and Bai Xiaofei both only at Level 21, reaching Level 30 within three years felt daunting. The challenge seemed intense, and the expectations high.
Seeing their reactions, Yang Potian reassured them. "You don't have to worry. I spoke to the deans yesterday, and the academy will provide the materials we need for medicinal baths. If you follow my training regimen, I guarantee each of you will reach the Soul Elder level within three years."
"In addition to your daily 50-kilometer weighted run, I'll design additional exercises tailored to your physical abilities. The rest of the time, meditate in a suitable mimicry environment. Heaven Dou Academy's mimicry fields are excellent; they'll help you achieve twice the results with half the effort."
Before anyone could respond, Yang Potian turned to Mr. Li and instructed him, "Mr. Li, please monitor everyone's training every day. Unless there's an exceptional circumstance, no one is allowed to skip training. I've also submitted a request for our medicinal bath supplies and other funding, which I'll need you to retrieve."
"If anyone faints or encounters any issues during training, please help them immediately. I may not always be on-site at the training ground."
Yang Potian handed Mr. Li a list detailing his requests.
Training Field #3 was spacious, larger than a soccer field, measuring about 200 meters in length and 100 meters wide. Yang Potian planned to convert it into an obstacle course featuring hurdles, fences, water pits, stone barriers, high walls, low-hanging nets, balance beams, and more. The goal was to strengthen his teammates' endurance, flexibility, and resilience.
The obstacle course would incorporate some military-style exercises from his previous life, honing their physical prowess, agility, and psychological resilience.
To Yang Potian, military training methods were the most effective for building practical strength. Once the team could handle these challenges, their combat readiness would be much improved. When they were ready, he would increase the weights and introduce more exercises.
This obstacle course would also be one of Yang Potian's main training routines, as it would enhance his agility and coordination.
Tai Long, being the heir of the Strength Clan, had impressive crafting skills. In just one day, he managed to forge all the weights needed, ranging from a few kilograms to several hundred kilograms.
Ye Lingling watched in disbelief; as a support-type soul master, she had never witnessed such intense training requirements. Fortunately, Dugu Yan was beside her, providing reassurance and helping her overcome her nerves.
