Earth With Dungeon: Saving the World With an Economic Boom

Chapter 236.1

Chapter 236.1. Satan

Sakimori collected the cores of the demons he had annihilated, grinning as he checked his status board.

“Oh… These guys are all maxed out, huh? [Adversity Growth] gave me 4,750 status points.”

“Were the demon generals’ stats maxed too? I thought there’d be some difference.”

Shizuku said, picking up a demon general’s core, with a surprised expression. So, Satan and his group had the same level stats?

“Yeah. It’s probably the skills that made the difference in strength. Demons aren’t as omnipotent as in fairy tales, after all.”

Serika was gathering the scepters, halberds, and weapons from the higher demons, humming cheerfully with a satisfied smile. The weapons must’ve been powerful, though the battle ended before they could show their strength.

“In a six-person party, we can even beat this army. That’s Sakimori, CEO for you.”

Sei’s words were admiring, almost respectful, causing my brows to furrow. Of course.

“Six people, huh? Me, Shizuku, Serika, Yukika, Sei.”

“Kou.”

I counted on my fingers—yep, six people. Did I miscount? Should I call that out? I felt like I heard a girl’s voice from somewhere.

“Sat-chan can move through buildings to where her companions are. It’s one of the [Housework] skills, [Help]. She rarely reveals herself to enemies though.”

Shizuku casually explained, waving her index finger. So, they knew she was with us from the start, huh? You could’ve told me too.

“I think I should start learning [Housework] too. Living alone is tough.”

Isn’t housework kind of overpowered? You control buildings, right? I see now why Shizuku and the others were once the strongest party.

“You won’t get any attack skills if you do, master.”

“I understand that Sakimori-san’s wife would need attack skills.”

“Yes, yes. We have to divide roles properly. Anyway, let’s allocate those status points.”

Before anything goes sideways, I decide to allocate my points.

So, here’s what it looks like:

The status distribution for me, Shizuku, and Yukika hasn’t changed. This is my first time checking the others’ stats. Except for Yukika, everyone’s stats are extremely skewed. It’s kind of funny.

In terms of roles: I’m a mage. Shizuku’s a swordsman, Yukika’s a fighter, Serika’s a gunner, Sei’s a priest, and Kou is…

“A maid. If she has tea leaves, she can restore spell uses while camping. Also, she automatically heals companions during combat—a strong job.”

Shizuku proudly puffed her flat chest. A maid class, huh…

“I don’t get it, but whatever. So, do you think the fight against Satan will be easy? In my experience, the boss of the next dungeon rank usually shows up, right?”

“An S-rank boss… I think Satan will still be the boss of this A-rank dungeon, but now I’m starting to get worried.”

“Hm? So, from A-rank onward, it’s a boss of the same rank?”

It used to always be a boss one rank above, right? Has that changed?

“S-rank stats are on a whole different level. A-rank maxes out at 10,000, but S-rank goes up to 25,000. And they can fully use level 7 skills, so they become incredibly, incredibly, incredibly strong. It’s designed so humans won’t give up fighting.”

“If the enemies are too strong, people will lose hope. Dungeons are always good at offering just enough of it.”

I shrugged in exasperation, drinking a mana potion. I’d run out after the last battle.

As I felt my mana recovering, I suddenly became dizzy and staggered.

For some reason, I wasn’t feeling well. Why? Checking my condition, I realized—it was like the feverish sensation before leveling up. My body felt like it was burning.

Was it because I absorbed a lot of mana after defeating all the demons? But it shouldn’t be possible to level up this quickly. There’s a limit to how much mana a human can absorb at once…

“Something wrong, Sakimori?”

“Nothing.”

Serika asked, noticing something off about me, but I shook my head. Hmm, has my mana absorption ability increased? Am I surpassing human limits?

“Looks like you’re about to level up. Maybe it’s because you’ve become something more than human since acquiring Dark Mode?”

Before I could finish my thought, Shizuku interjected, making me chuckle. That mode really is something beyond human, huh?

“You say that like it’s no big deal. Well, whatever.”

I don’t feel all that different, so I’ll worry about it later. For now, I stow the cores we collected into the equivalent exchange store. We’ve got 3,000 rare A-rank cores… unbelievable. And even 4 special ones.

“It’ll be fun to trade them in later, but for now, let’s go take down Satan.”
