Chapter 19 Sun Moon Mountain Range 3
Yilin and Yiluo exchanged glances, then began eating quickly, but they deliberately avoided the rabbit meat and Chinese cabbage dishes.
Behind the inn’s counter, Xiao Er observed the three of them intently. He couldn’t help but feel puzzled. Had they detected something? If so, why didn’t they inquire further? They didn’t touch those two dishes; could it be they simply disliked them? Xiao Er’s thoughts swirled with confusion.
After their meal, Yilin settled the bill. The innkeeper, still eyeing them suspiciously, handed her some change.
Yilin took the money and walked out of the inn with Yemo in her arms. Those who had been preparing to cause trouble in the inn decided against it upon seeing Yemo being held.
They might rob for money, but children were off-limits.
Yemo lay on Yilin’s shoulder, casting her dark eyes upon those individuals. Then she turned her head and spotted Ye Yan and Ye Tian approaching with a sizable group.
Naturally, Ye Yan and Ye Tian saw Yemo ahead of them.
As Yemo’s intense gaze met Ye Yan’s, he couldn’t help but shiver.
It seemed like a wise choice to accompany the Crown Prince and Prince Bailiqing.
“Yan’er, what’s wrong?” Prince Bailiqing inquired, noticing Ye Yan’s focus on something ahead.
“It’s nothing, I’m just looking at my fifth sister,” Ye Yan replied with a gentle smile. “Your Highness, there have been some rumors circulating about this inn lately. How about we proceed directly into the mountains?”
Prince Bailiqing was well aware of the recent inn rumors, and she had brought two elders along to the Sun Moon Mountain Range as a precaution. Curious about what Ye Yan was observing, she agreed, “Alright, we’ll head straight to the Sun and Moon Mountains.”
With her plan to impress Ye Yan, she wanted Yemo to witness that even His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was taken with her.
Yemo was being carried by Yilin, so she noticed that Ye Yan and the others didn’t enter the inn but followed them instead.
“Yilin, put me down,” Yemo requested.
Following her request, Yilin lowered her, and Yemo turned around to face Ye Yan and Ye Tian. “What are those two trying to do? They’re still tailing us.”
“Pay them no mind; let’s continue,” Ye Mo said indifferently, striding forward.
Seeing their rapid pace, Prince Bailiqing couldn’t help but be surprised. “Your Royal Highness, let’s catch up.” She gazed at Ye Yan and mustered a bashful smile.
Initially apprehensive, the prince agreed upon seeing Ye Yan’s smile. “Very well, let’s catch up.”
Ye Yan, Prince Bailiqing, and her entourage then hastened their steps to join Ye Mo’s group. However, once they entered the Sun Moon Mountains, they couldn’t locate Yemo and her companions.
“Why are they so fast?” Prince Bailiqing found it puzzling. She had seen them moments ago, so why couldn’t she spot them now?
Ye Yan and Ye Tian shared the same curiosity.
The maids being swift didn’t strike them as odd, as they were known to be highly skilled. However, Yemo’s rapid pace intrigued them. Could it be because she was being carried?
