Chapter 3 The strong is respected 3

Seeing those people approaching, Yilin and Yiluo greeted them unceremoniously and engaged in combat with the killers.

The two of them executed lethal moves without hesitation.

The killers hadn’t anticipated Yilin and Yiluo being so powerful. One of the killers glanced at his companions, nodded, and then approached the carriage.

Their target was a seven-year-old child who was not currently outside and must be inside the carriage.

As long as they killed the child, they would have completed their mission.

The killer was on the verge of entering the carriage when a silver needle flew toward him.

The silver needle pierced through the carriage curtain and struck the killer directly in the eyebrow.

The killer twitched for a moment, then swayed and fell from the carriage.

The other black-clad men were somewhat surprised by this turn of events. Could it be that there were experts inside the carriage?

“You three, go and deal with the people in the carriage,” the killer who was fighting Yilin ordered.

As soon as he gave the command, three individuals headed towards the carriage.

However, this time, before they could reach the carriage, they were struck down by flying silver needles.

Inside the carriage, Ye Mo glanced at the three individuals slowly falling, and a slight smile curled on the corners of her mouth.

Yilin and Yiluo swiftly dispatched the killers and found a letter on the leader of the assassins.

“Miss,” Yilin climbed into the carriage and handed the found letter to Ye Mo.

Yemo reached for the letter, opened it, and began to read.

When she saw the name of the sender, Ye Mo sneered, “Fifty thousand gold coins. It appears that my life is quite cheap.” Upon hearing this, Yilin inquired, “Miss, what should we do with those killers outside?”

“Sever the heads of the three individuals, place them in the carriage, and take them back to her,” Ye Mo replied, setting aside the envelope. “She’s given me a surprise, so I should at least return the favor with a surprise of my own.”

Yilin smiled and remarked, “I’m afraid the young lady will be startled when she sees her gift.”

“Go,” Ye Mo said softly, reclining on the soft couch without any further words.

Her sole responsibility was to provide the gift; whether it resulted in a surprise or shock was not her concern.

“Yes,” Yilin acknowledged, turned around, and exited the carriage. She and Yiluo soon returned carrying three wrapped parcels.

When the driver returned after receiving the order, he appeared somewhat frightened upon seeing the corpses, but he nevertheless drove the carriage away from the location.

Half an hour later, the carriage arrived in the imperial capital and proceeded to the General’s Mansion situated in the southern part of the city.

The coachman halted the carriage and communicated through the curtain, saying, “Young lady, we’ve arrived at the General’s Mansion.”

“Very well,” Ye Mo replied. She opened the curtain of the carriage and disembarked first, followed by Yilin and Yiluo.

Yilin held two swords in one hand and something wrapped in black cloth in the other, while Yiluo carried two similar items.

As Ye Mo gazed at the grand entrance of the “General’s Mansion” emblazoned with dragon and phoenix imagery, a sneer graced the corner of her mouth.

She knew she was expected here today, yet no one awaited her, not even a servant. The people of the General’s Mansion were truly something.

Approaching the entrance of the General’s Mansion, Ye Mo was about to enter when she was intercepted by the guards stationed there.

“What’s the meaning of this?” Yilin inquired, her expression slightly frosty, as she looked at the guard.

The guard cast a glance at the trio and replied, “The General’s Mansion is not a place for the likes of you. Leave immediately.”

“Get lost!” Yiluo shouted angrily upon hearing this, “Open your eyes and see clearly. Stand your ground. Before you is Yemo, the direct descendant of the General’s Mansion.”
