Emperor Phoenix World

Chapter 31 Sun Moon Mountain Range 15

The elder, upon hearing Yemo’s response, snorted coldly and swiftly launched an attack against her.

Meanwhile, the man chose not to pursue Yilin and Yiluo but stayed behind to watch the confrontation unfold.

Yemo, not flustered by the elder’s approach, tapped her toes and gracefully evaded his attack, maneuvering away from his reach.

In response, the elder extended his hand, conjuring a fireball that streaked towards Yemo.

Positioned before a large tree, Yemo spun gracefully upward as the fireball landed harmlessly on the tree’s trunk. The ancient trees in the mountains, having endured the test of time, were resilient and not easily destroyed.

Realizing that his attack had failed, the elder moved in to pursue Yemo. However, a multitude of vines suddenly emerged and ensnared him.

The vines coiled around the elder, constricting him and leaving him gasping for breath.

Observing this turn of events, the man who had been spectating prepared to intervene and sever the vines.

Yet, just as the man readied himself to act, a fireball plummeted rapidly from the canopy above.

Startled, the man hastily dodged the incoming fireball.

As he avoided the fiery projectile, more vines emerged and ensnared the man, binding him alongside the elder.

Struggling fruitlessly against their constraints, the elder and the man attempted to break free but found themselves held fast.

“What’s happening?” Panic began to grip the man as breathing became increasingly difficult.

“It’s futile,” the elder muttered, looking up at Yemo on a nearby branch. “Our opponent’s strength surpasses ours by far. We won’t break free.”

Yemo, the supposed waste of the Qilan Empire, had trapped two seven-star intermediate magicians. The irony of the situation was not lost on them.

Descending from the branch, Yemo materialized in front of the immobilized pair, toying with a dagger in her hand. “Elder, your dedication is admirable. You’ve offered yourselves as a lesson for me. How considerate.”

Her tone dripped with sarcasm, a tone not lost on the elder and the man.

Yet, they remained ensnared by the vines under Yemo’s control, unable to escape her grasp.

“Ye Mo, if you’re not a waste, why accept such a reputation?” The elder regarded Yemo with genuine confusion.

Observing her control of the vines and her ability to cast fireballs, it was clear that Yemo possessed both wood and fire elemental magic. All this from a child of only seven years old.

If she was considered a waste, what did that make everyone else?

“It’s amusing,” Yemo retorted as she advanced toward them, the dagger tracing across the man’s face. “The Ye family cast me aside as a waste, and the emperor consented to my use as a sacrificial offering. It was you, Ye Mo, who willingly offered me up for sacrifice in pursuit of your own future. I am no waste. Why not take the opportunity to demonstrate it?”

The elder hailed from the palace, summoned here because of the Crown Prince’s visit to the Sun and Moon Mountains. Otherwise, he would still be at the palace.

“How did you learn about the sacrifice?” The elder gazed at Yemo, astonishment etched across his face.

“Is it so hard to figure out?” Yemo shot the elder a glance. “I won’t spare any of those who conspired against me. Keeping you alive would only spell disaster for me. My apologies, but if you seek someone to blame, look to your prince. It was his decision to instruct you to teach me a lesson in an attempt to curry favor with Ye Yan. If not for that, you wouldn’t find yourself in this predicament.”
