Chapter 347: Scared? Don't be.
The Blue Crystal City was in upheaval against the tyranny of the slave ruling over them.
At first, many were apprehensive of the new king's wrath, but after three days and nothing happening, their confidence was boosted. Thugs and gangs became unruly, declaring the outer city their domain.
Those who supported or did not join their uprising had their property set ablaze.
With all this going on, the few remaining clans in the inner city did not make a move to stop them.
To those in the outer city, this was a sign of surrender. Thus, the little remaining fear in their hearts disappeared.
While this was going on, the Sun clan was discreetly recruiting people.
With many slaves set free, there were quite a lot of young men and women to be recruited.
In three days, over five hundred people had been recruited, and their training had begun.
However, that was not the most notable thing happening in the inner city.
At the center of the inner city, a massive construction was going on.
Su Yen was not only planning to create a military department but also constructing the Nine-level Black Pagoda.
As time went by, the Nine-level Black Pagoda began to take shape. Even though many wondered why they were building such a massive pagoda at the center of the inner city, they knew not to ask unnecessary questions.
Inside the floating palace's main hall, Su Yen looked at the two old people standing in front of him: a man and a woman.
The old man was the Patriarch of the Sun clan, and the woman was the Matriarch of the Sheng clan.
"Your Majesty, the training of the soldiers is progressing as scheduled. The first five hundred men should be available for battle by the end of this month," Patriarch Sun reported respectfully with a deep bow.
"Good. Well done," Su Yen responded calmly.
"Your Majesty, the construction of the pagoda should be complete by the end of this month," Matriarch Sheng reported respectfully and gave a deep bow.
"Good. Both of you have worked hard, but you must not get complacent. Soon, your clans will be rewarded," Su Yen said, looking at them calmly and gesturing for them to leave.
After the departure of the two clan leaders, the space in front of him trembled, and a spatial crack appeared.
From the spatial crack, a spider emerged. It was the Space Eating Spider, still recovering.
"Your Majesty, I have reverse-engineered all the teleportation formations. Now, people can come and go," it reported and fished out a jade slip from its storage ring.
"I've recorded all my knowledge on spatial formations and the modification of the teleportation formations in this jade slip."
Su Yen waved his hand, and the jade slip flew toward him. Without hesitation, he placed the jade slip on his forehead, and instantly, a stream of massive information rushed into his brain.
If Su Yen had been an ordinary person, the massive inflow of information would have made him unconscious.
As for him, it was nothing.
It took him a minute to sift through the sea of information and understand it quickly.

Even though he wasn't an expert in spatial formations, he was no longer a novice.
After arranging his thoughts, he looked at the Space Eating Spider and said, "I never knew your knowledge about spatial formations was this deep."
"Your Majesty, this is nothing compared to my fellow race members. As a space beast, we're attuned to spatial formations. If this part of the universe were not separated from the rest of the universe, I would have acquired more knowledge than this," it responded calmly, but its voice was laced with pride.
"Enough of your bragging. Go to the outer city and imprison those causing trouble for the past couple of weeks."
"Yes, Your Majesty," the Space Eating Spider responded respectfully and disappeared from its spot.
Many thought the new tyrant king was scared of the people in the outer city or that the tyrant king was not as powerful as they proclaimed him to be.
But now, everything was about to change.
In the outer city, a seemingly ordinary small spider appeared at the corner of a street and turned to look at a building surrounded by guards protecting it.
The guards were looking for human intruders and did not notice the ordinary spider appear and disappear into the space around the building.
A few minutes later, the spider departed from the building, but the building was not the same again.
After the spider departed, a wealthy merchant arrived in his luxury carriage and prepared to enter the building, only to hit an invisible wall.
The guards protecting the building saw this and were stunned, but they still decided to find out what was happening, only to be stopped by the invisible wall.
Watching such a bizarre scene, the guards and the merchant were stunned. Still, they tried everything to break the invisible wall, but everything was futile.
Instantly, the peaceful atmosphere inside the building became heavy, reeking of tension.
Their leader came out and attacked the invisible wall, but the result was the same.
Now, even a fool knew something was definitely going on.
Looking at the invisible prison, the merchant was scared silly and escaped from the building without using his carriage.
Unbeknownst to them, this was happening throughout the outer city.
After more than ten houses had been placed under compulsory house arrest, the news spread throughout the city.
It was then they remembered the calm new king who had taken over the city. Previously, they thought the king was weak and scared of them, but now, they realized how wrong they were.
It was not that he was weak or scared of them; he wanted to capture everyone all at once.
Inside the guard barracks, all the guards were pacing back and forth in panic.
Patriarch Li was brought out from his prison cell and looked at the panicking guards and chuckled.
"Don't tell me you're scared right now?" he taunted, looking at the guard commander.
"Don't forget you're still my prisoner, and I can decide to kill you right now," the guard commander threatened.
"Really?" Patriarch Li looked at the guard commander as if he were looking at a fool.
Suddenly, a powerful aura erupted from his body, shocking everyone. This was the aura of a peak expert at the Golden Core Realm.
"Y-You…." The guard commander stuttered with fear and shock marring his face.
He was only at the Early Golden Core Realm. How could he defeat a peak Golden Core expert?
"Scared? Don't be. I won't deal with you. Right now, you should be worried about His Majesty's wrath."
Thud!
The guard commander fell on his butt in fright. He knew he had kicked against a solid hard steel, and now it was too late for regret.
