Yeonjun's POV :

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off. Weird, I don't remember setting an alarm, It was weekend after all. I grabbed my phone to turn it off, only to find out that it was not coming from my phone. I furrowed my eyebrows, where was this sound coming from then? I got up from my bed, trying to find the source of the sound. I turned the lights on, but everything seemed normal. The alarm sound was gone now. Thinking it was nothing, I was about to go back to sleep, but something caught my eye. From my window, the scene of outside looked completely different, it felt as if I was seeing a whole new place outside. Instead of the backyard being there, there were woods. There were owls outside. The moon was shining brightly upon the woods, making it look very pretty. It looked scary but pretty at the same time. I was really confused, was I dreaming? But it looked really real to be a dream. I decided to go and check outside. Grabbing my phone from the nightstand, I turned the flashlight on and went outside.

The sky looked really pretty with all the stars and moon shining upon the ground. A slight wind was blowing too, caressing my skin. It really was a whole different place. I started walking towards the woods, to see what was there. I know it was really stupid, but I was curious. If this was a dream, then it was no harm in doing so anyways.

I had come inside the woods now, it was even more pretty from inside. There were purple trees surrounding me. I could hear the hooting of the owls from the outside. I saw some wooden sticks lying around. An idea came to my mind.

I gathered all the sticks together and tried to light up a fire from a stone. Luckily it worked. I sat down in front of it and rubbed my palms together. I wished my friends were with me as well, we would have so much fun together. A smile formed on my lips thinking about them.

Ever since my mom had gone missing, they were the only family I was left with. Sometimes I thought if the universe really hated me that much to take both my mom and dad away from me at such a young age. I still hoped that one day my mom would just magically appear in front of me, until then I would just keep waiting. Ji Ah's parents had asked me to move in with them, but I refused. I didn't want to be a burden on them. They still told me that I was welcome at anytime. I was really thankful for them, as well as for my friends. I wondered what would have happened if I never met them.

Suddenly a sound came from behind the trees, making me startled. I immediately grabbed my phone and turned the flashlight towards the trees, trying to see what it was. Another sound came, but I couldn't see anything.

Then I saw it, a giant cat like shadow, creeping towards me. I started to crawl back, as it kept coming towards me. The most creepy thing about it was, that it had two different coloured eyes, one blue and one green. It had an overall creepy aura surrounding it. It felt as if it was staring into my soul. I gulped, feeling genuinely frightened. That's when I felt a stinging sensation in my neck. I touched it and looked at my finger, only to see it covered in blood. My eyes widened and I ran out of there as fast I could. My foot tripped over something, making me fall down. I could not get up, no matter how much I tried. I tried to scream, but no sound was coming out. Suddenly everything went pitch black and then my eyes flew open.

I woke up, covered in sweat and looked out my window, only to find that everything was back to normal. The sun was shining outside, indicating that it was morning already. I grabbed my phone to check the time. It was ten am. I unlocked my phone and saw that I had 10 missed calls from Ji Ah. Oh shit, she was going to kill me. I cleared my throat and dialed her number.

Oh look, the sleeping beauty finally decided to wake up

I am sorry Ji Ah, I seriously didn't hear your call

Yeah yeah, whatever. Anyways, get ready by 12, I am going to pick you up.

All of a sudden? Why?

Geez, it's not like I am going to kidnap you Jun. Just get ready, It's my treat today.

Well then, I am going to take a shower now. Bye , see you at 12.

I put my phone on the bed and grabbed some clothes to change into. Going inside the bathroom, I locked the door and grabbed my toothbrush to brush my teeth. I stood in front of the mirror, ready to brush my teeth, but then my eyes landed on my neck, making them widen. But how was this even possible? I thought that was all a dream.

Then how did I get this cut on my neck, and that too in the exact place where it had stung in the dream. It wasn't large, but it was still noticable. If Ji Ah saw this, she would think that I had tried to harm myself again. I couldn't let that happen. I quickly brushed my teeth and took a shower.

I went outside and grabbed a different pair of clothes. I had to hide this cut.

Ji Ah's POV:

"What the hell! Why are you wearing a high neck in may?" I said, looking at Yeonjun, who was dressed in a pink high neck.

"I just wanted to wear this." He said.

"Really?" I asked, raising an eyebrow and he nodded his head. I just shook my head and grabbed his hand.

"We are going to go to the amusement park, from there we will head to a restaurant and then we will go to the arcade!" I said excitedly.

"You really do have the whole day planned, don't you?" He said, smiling at me.

"Of course I do. Now, let's go!" I said and started running, making him run with me as well.

We were currently sitting on one of the benches in the park, eating ice cream. I had my favourite chocolate and he had his favourite mint chocolate as always.

"So, how is your day going so far?" I asked.

"It's going great of course. How could it ever go bad with you?" He said. I smiled at that and looked at the kids playing in front of us.

"You remember when we met at the carnival that day?" I asked, looking at him.

"Of course, how could I ever forget that day?That was the best day of my life. I met my five best friends" He said, as a smile formed on his lips.

"It feels like yesterday, doesn't it?" I asked, thinking about when we used to be kids. He nodded.

"It does" He said, finishing his ice cream.

"I am done as well. Let's go to the restaurant now!" I said, getting up.

"Can we go to the arcade first? I am really not hungry" He said.

"Well, your wish is my command!" I said, bowing dramatically.

"My my, so much respect, that too from you. Where did the sun rise from today?" He said, looking at the sky. I slapped his arm playfully.

"Shut up bitch, let's go now" I said, dragging him away.

"There goes all the respect" He said.

"Damn why are you so good at this" I said, looking at the three plushies Yeonjun had collected, while I was still struggling.

"What can I say, I was born talented" He said making me roll my eyes.

"Care to grab one for me then, sir talented" I said.

"Why not, but I'll be charging money" He said.

"Wow, how nice of you" I said sarcastically.

"I was just joking" He said.

"I know. I was not gonna give you any money anyways" I said.

He picked two plushies and gave them to me. I looked at them happily.

"You picked a penguin! Now it's going to be even more fun teasing our penguin friend" I said happily. He chuckled and ruffled my hair.

"We should get going now" He said and we started walking out. I noticed him scratching his neck, he had been doing that a lot all day.

"Jun, is your neck okay?" I asked and he immediately put his hand down. Weird.

"Yeah, it's just this high neck irritating me" He said.

"I told you. It's may right now and it's super hot. But you didn't listen" I said.

"Yeah, but it's fine. We are going to head home after eating anyways" He said and I nodded.

"Hey, why don't you stay at my home tonight? It's been really long since we did a sleepover anyways. I'll call the other four giants too" I said. He seemed to be lost for a minute.

"Hello, Jun?" I said, waving my hand in front of his face.

"Oh, um yeah. I mean no, we can't do that tonight. Maybe some other day?" He said. He never said no to sleepovers, that was his favourite thing.

"But sleepovers are your favourite" I said.

"They are, Ji Ah. But I really am not in the mood today" He said.

"Fine" I replied.

"I am sorry. I promise we will have a sleepover next week" He said, smiling apologetically. I noticed him scratching his neck again.

"You should just fold your collar. Wait I'll do it for you" I said, grabbing his collar but he just yanked my hand away.

"No! I told you it's fine!" He said, raising his voice. That really startled me because he had never raised his voice at me before, in fact I had never seen him raising his voice at anyone.

"Sorry" I said, turning away from him. Realising his mistake, he immediately apologised.

"Oh no I am sorry. I really didn't mean to shout at you Ji Ah, it just happened by mistake. I am really sorry" He said.

Deciding not to make a big deal out of it, I smiled and nodded my head at him and grabbed his hand.

"It's okay. Let's go and eat now though, because I am really hungry. And the bill is on you because you shouted at me" I said and started to run. I heard him calling my name from behind and turned around and poked my tounge out, making both of us laugh.

How I wish you had told me the truth, at least then I wouldn't be drowning in regret now.
