Exiled Young Girl’s Territory Development Record: The Result of the Villainous Young Lady Who Was Exiled Before the Scenario Began and Did Whatever She Wanted for the People.

Chapter 38: The Exiled Young Girl Creates a Map

Since I was quite exhausted, I decided to take the rest of the day off and start working on the map the next day.

Oh, and just to clarify, when I say I’m creating a map, it doesn’t mean I’ll be doing the surveying myself.

First, I need to gather the skeletons necessary for map-making.

Since I had given instructions the day before, I expected the goblin skeletons to have gathered them by now.

I took Will with me and went out through the back gate. There, ten goblin skeletons were waiting for us.

“Lady, what’s the plan? You mentioned making a map, but…”

“Yes, that’s right.”

“…Are these guys able to make maps too!?”

“Well, I’m not sure if they can make maps directly, but what I need them to do is gather bones.”

“Gather bones?”

“Yes, look over there.”

“Is that… bird carcasses?”

“Yes. I actually made a skeleton from one bird before.”

“Ah.”

“Well, it’s probably faster if you see for yourself.”

I checked to make sure the wild bird carcasses had no lingering souls and promptly created skeletons from the bird bones. Various black-boned birds now stared at us.

“So, you are Bi-2, you are Bi-3, and you are—”

I named them sequentially up to Bi-13. I wanted to use ‘B’ for Bird, but it would overlap with the Wild Boar’s B.

“Okay, Bi-2, fly straight in that direction. If you find the edge of the forest or a road where carriages can pass, return straight away. Bi-3, go in that direction—”

I instructed the twelve bird skeletons to fly in different directions. They flapped their wings and flew off in response to my commands.

Oh, and please, no complaints about the physical impossibility of flying without feathers. I know it’s strange, but if you think about it, moving bones is already pretty unusual.

“Alright, that’s done. Now I’ll wait at home for their return.”

“Y-yes.”

“Oh! That reminds me!”

“What is it?”

“Oops, sorry. I meant to give orders to the skeletons, not to you.”

“Yes…”

“You skeletons, go find any kind of corpse. Birds or monsters are fine.”

The clattering sound of bones moving indicated their departure as they headed into the forest.

“Well, Will, let’s head back.”

“Yes.”

We returned to the village.

“By the way, how are the new residents settling in? Are they adjusting well?”

“Yes. Especially the men, they’re very excited.”

“Oh? Well, I guess it’s not surprising. All of them are really beautiful.”

“Yes. How did you manage to recruit so many beautiful women?”

“Well, remember I mentioned that Bolta was involved in slave trading and even went as far as kidnapping? It turns out he targeted beautiful women.”

“Ah! So that’s what happened.”

“Yes. Also, some of them had their families killed. Please keep that in mind and avoid spreading this information. They probably don’t want to talk about it.”

“Got it.”

We chatted about this as we made our way home.

After a while, Bi-2 returned. Since it had been sent towards Clarinton, it was the fastest to come back.

“Okay, can you tell me the distance? If the distance to the edge of the forest is more than ten times the distance between the village’s front and back gates, bow your head.”

*Clank.*

Bi-2 bowed its head.

Good, it seems to understand this much.

For reference, the distance between the two gates of the village is probably less than a kilometer. It might seem large for the village’s size, but that’s because the village is spread out with fields inside.

“Now, if it’s more than a hundred times the distance, bow your head.”

*Clank.*

As expected. It took five days with an ox-drawn cart to get to Clarington, so it couldn’t be that close.

“Now, if it’s more than a thousand times the distance, bow your head.”

This time, it didn’t bow its head. This seems about right.

Assuming the distance between the village gates is 500 meters, a thousand times that would be 500 kilometers.

Since walking speed is roughly 4-5 km/h for adults, it’s reasonable to assume it’s less than 500 kilometers.

“Alright…”

I continued asking for the distance to the forest’s edge and noted the information on paper.

Two weeks later, I completed the map from the southwest to the east.

To clarify, the map isn’t a detailed one with contour lines or anything. It’s a simple map showing major features like rivers, lakes, and cliffs visible from above.

What I confirmed, or rather reaffirmed, was that Scarletford is indeed isolated within the Demon Forest.

I also gathered information from Simon—Anna’s husband—and included towns and villages on the map. Unfortunately, every town was more than twice the distance from Clarington.

According to Simon, Clarington itself was originally a town developed by clearing the Demon Forest.

In other words, Scarletford was built further into the Demon Forest, protruding even more from Clarington.

Given this situation, direct trade with other locations besides Clarington seems quite challenging.

Of course, the simplest option would be to beg Bolta, but that’s absolutely out of the question.

There is the option to bypass Clarington and go to other towns or villages, but I doubt those involved in human trafficking would just ignore it.

If we continue without external trade, we’ll eventually run into problems.

So, it looks like we’ll need to create a new route through the Demon Forest…
