Fate: Question And Answer System of Traversing Heroic Spirits

Chapter 161: Chapter 161: Unboxing

Iskandar sighed dramatically. "Alas, why am I not in this picture?"

Gilgamesh smirked. "It just proves the gap between you and me."

"Tsk, that's really irritating," Iskandar muttered, crossing his arms.

The effect of the Royal Travelling Incognito that Gilgamesh had obtained. It allowed him to grant himself an invincible state for one minute, twice a day. Iskandar's Shield had its merits, but both of them acknowledged the unique advantages of each item.

Iskandar studied the image again, his brows furrowing. "But the First Emperor in this picture feels a little… different."

He handed the ceremonial dress depicted in the photo to the First Emperor for a closer look.

The First Emperor examined it thoughtfully. "It does seem a bit different. It resembles me in my youth, but not exactly."

Chihiro kept his thoughts to himself, silently noting, Of course, it's different. The one in the picture is from the Lostbelt, not you, the First Emperor of Pan-Human History.

Iskandar clapped his hands together, breaking the moment. "Alright, hurry up and open the boxes! Let's see what everyone got."

"I know, I know."

Artoria, who was holding her treasure chest, felt a flicker of curiosity. This was her third time opening a chest.

The first silver chest she had opened had rewarded her with a motorcycle, but the subsequent bronze chest had contained only a ceremonial outfit called Vegetarian Supper.

The effect of Vegetarian Supper was to summon a modest vegetarian meal once a day to stave off hunger. While it helped alleviate the lack of food in the Throne of Heroes, it had no meat and came in small portions.

"Ding! Congratulations to group member Artoria for obtaining the Job Change Card!"

"Hmm? Job change?"

Artoria held up the card, examining it closely. For a moment, she couldn't figure out what it was for.

"Um, Chihiro, can you take a look at this?"

Unable to figure it out on her own, she turned to Chihiro for help.

Chihiro took the card, studied it briefly, and soon understood its effects.

The Job Change Card allowed a Servant to randomly change their current class once a day. However, the change came with limitations.

First, the Servant needed to have an alternate class form available; otherwise, the card would not work.

Second, the change only affected their current class designation, not their skills or abilities.

For example, if Artoria used the card, she could transform into her Alter, Christmas, Swimsuit, or even Maid alter versions, but not into Lily, Lion King, or Bunnytoria.

This was because Lily and similar versions were entirely separate manifestations based on alternate experiences in her life.

Similarly, if Diarmuid were to use the card, he would likely transform into a Saber, as that was the only other class available to him.

After Chihiro explained the card's functionality to Artoria, it took her a while to process everything.

"A card that lets you change classes, now this is interesting!"

Gilgamesh scoffed, barely glancing at it. "Hmph, a worthless trinket."

It was clear he had no interest in changing his class.

Chihiro turned to Artoria. "Do you want to give it a try?"

"Well..." Artoria hesitated, her expression conflicted. The thought of using the card made her uneasy, especially since it might transform her into her swimsuit form with its… less-than-modest outfit.

Chihiro noticed her hesitation and shrugged. "In that case, why not let someone else try it first?"

Artoria nodded quickly. "That's fine with me."

Chihiro looked at the First Emperor, "Would you like to give it a try? Didn't you once mention you weren't satisfied with the way you are now?"

"...No."

The First Emperor paused, then spoke with a solemn expression: "If I use this card, it would imply that I think my current body is inadequate."

"I will not back down. Even in this aged body, I will make others recognize one thing."

"I, Qin Shi Huang, am no weaker than anyone else!"

"Pah, pah, pah!"

"Well said!"

Iskandar clapped his hands, laughing heartily.

"Now then, what about you, Diarmuid?"

Chihiro turned to Diarmuid and asked, "Haven't you always wanted to compete with Saber in swordsmanship?"

"I..."

Diarmuid hesitated briefly before shaking his head. "No, I'll pass. I came here to prove my worth as a Lancer, and I can't abandon that halfway through."

Though he knew that becoming a Saber would significantly enhance his strength, Diarmuid had his own principles.

Just like the First Emperor, to give up now would be akin to admitting fear.

Chihiro: "..."

Oh dear, it seemed no one wanted to use this thing just yet.

He had been curious to see what everyone would look like in different classes.

For now, there was no other choice but to return the card to Artoria and wait for someone to use it later.

"Ding! Congratulations to group member Diarmuid for obtaining the Magic Item – Passion and Fury!"

Looking at the two swords, one red and one yellow, in the image, Diarmuid froze in surprise.

He recognized these swords instantly. They were his magic swords from his lifetime.

The yellow one was Beagalltach, and the red one was Móralltach.

It was said that in his life, Diarmuid would wield Beagalltach in situations he deemed less dangerous, using a measured and calm approach. But in life-and-death scenarios, he would bring out Móralltach, his ultimate weapon.

Móralltach was a gift from Manannán mac Lir, the Celtic god of the sea and the Otherworld. It was said to be a sword capable of killing with a single strike, granting guaranteed victory with the first blow.

This sword was Diarmuid's most powerful weapon, bringing triumph to him and despair to his foes.

Chihiro couldn't help but be surprised. Diarmuid was unexpectedly lucky, drawing an item associated with his Saber class bond.

If Diarmuid were to transform into a Saber and use this card, his power would increase exponentially.

After reading through the effects of the item, Diarmuid understood its significance, but he still showed no intention of changing his mind.

Besides, the item wasn't entirely useless in his current form.

When equipped, it allowed him to summon projections of Beagalltach and Móralltach, though these were not true Noble Phantasms. They were functional replicas, sufficient for use in battle.

Even though Diarmuid was currently a Lancer, he had not forgotten his swordsmanship.

By using this item, he could combine his expertise in both spears and swords, a combat style that suited him perfectly. Unfortunately, his class constraints had always limited him to dual spears or dual swords.

Next, it was Hassan of the Hundred Faces' turn to open their treasure chest.

"Ding! Congratulations to group member Hassan of the Hundred Faces for obtaining the Magic Gift – Al-Bukhour Incense!"

"This… this is a gift from the Old Man of the Mountain!"

Al-Bukhour Incense was King Hassan's Valentine's Day gift, a token with no combat-related effects. Its only ability was to soothe the mind.

Upon realizing that this was a gift from King Hassan, Hassan of the Hundred Faces was overwhelmed with emotion.

They carefully set the incense aside, then knelt and bowed their head reverently.

To them, King Hassan was akin to a god, the pinnacle of their faith.

Receiving a gift from such a figure was nothing short of a divine blessing.

Finally, only the First Emperor's silver treasure chest remained unopened.

"Ding! Congratulations to group member First Emperor for obtaining the Noble Phantasm – Universe Ring!"

"A Noble Phantasm!"

It seemed the First Emperor had the best luck out of all of them so far.

"The Universe Ring… so this is that guy's treasure," murmured the First Emperor as he held the bracelet-like artifact in his hands.

The Universe Ring was an item that many would recognize. In Chinese mythology, it was the treasure of Nezha, the Third Prince.

There was even a connection between Nezha and the First Emperor.

Ying Zheng had once recovered the remains of an artificial human created by Taiyi Zhenren during the Shang Dynasty and used them to research flesh-mechanization technology. This discovery ultimately led to the creation of Xiang Yu.

Those remains belonged to none other than Nezha.

In the Lostbelt, Ying Zheng used this technology to achieve mechanical ascension and immortality. However, in Pan-Human History, Ying Zheng chose to embrace his mortality and pass away naturally.

The Universe Ring had the ability to expand and contract freely. Normally, it could be worn as a pair of bracelets, but in battle, it transformed into a sharp circular weapon.

What made it unique was its voice-activated functionality.

Shouting "Go!" would send it flying toward an enemy.

Shouting "Stop!" would make it halt mid-air.

And shouting "Return!" would bring it back to the user's hand.

Once mastered, it was like controlling a semi-autonomous drone.

"Here, take it."

After examining the Universe Ring briefly, the First Emperor casually tossed it to Chihiro.

Chihiro blinked in surprise. "Huh? You're giving it to me?"

The First Emperor waved dismissively. "I have no interest in playing with such trivial things. Take it as a reward for your efforts."

And with that, all the silver treasure chests had been opened.

Well, except for Gilles de Rais's chest, but since he had locked himself in his room, no one bothered to check on him.

Iskandar clapped his hands eagerly. "Alright, boy! It's your turn now. Open up that golden treasure chest so we can see what's inside!"

All eyes turned to Chihiro, filled with curiosity and anticipation.

Without hesitation, Chihiro opened the chest.

"Ding! Congratulations to group member host for obtaining the Otherworld Random Draw Card!"

Chihiro's eyes lit up. This was a truly rare and valuable item.

The Otherworld Random Draw Card worked similarly to the lottery rewards from the previous quiz session, allowing the user to acquire items from non-Type Moon worlds.

However, whether the item would be something genuinely useful depended entirely on luck.

Because the rewards were tied to the quiz, the system ensured they were aligned with the desires of the recipients.
