Lore

Kromer hailed from N Corp, an organization steeped in zealotry and savagery, where she rose to prominence as the "One Who Grips," the leader of its fanatical Inquisition. Even from a young age, Kromer harbored a visceral hatred for prosthetic users, viewing them as impure affronts to humanity. For Kromer, prosthetics symbolized the loss of human integrity, a distortion of what she considered "wholeness." Her self-proclaimed love for humanity was, paradoxically, expressed through horrifying acts of violence.

Her rise began with her alliance with K Corp, which allowed her to freely terrorize Calw, a Nest known for its prosthetic industry, in exchange for supplying footage of her atrocities for K Corp's Singularity experiments. Behind her sadistic crusade was an unrelenting obsession with the purity of flesh—a fixation so intense it consumed her very being and those around her.

During her time at school, Kromer found an opportunity in a boy named Sinclair, whose naivety and hesitation toward prosthetics made him a perfect pawn. She viewed Sinclair not as an individual, but as a vessel for her ideals—a blank slate to mold into her perfect partner. His hesitation about prosthetics and his naïve, kind nature made him the ideal candidate for her influence. Kromer believed that only she could save Sinclair from his perceived weakness and guide him to his "true self," one that aligned with her twisted vision of humanity.

This obsession led her to manipulate and torment Sinclair, all under the guise of helping him. She relished his suffering, interpreting his pain as proof of his need for her guidance. To her, every tear and every moment of hesitation was a step closer to breaking him down and rebuilding him in her image.

When Kromer slaughtered Sinclair's family, she saw it not as an atrocity, but as a necessary act to free him from the shackles of his past. In her distorted mind, this was an act of love—a way to purify Sinclair and bring him closer to her. She ensured he survived, not out of mercy, but because she believed his suffering would ultimately bind him to her.

In a later confrontation, Kromer reenacted the horrors of that fateful Christmas, hanging innocents on pikes and mocking Sinclair with her vision of "human purity." Reaching the Golden Bough, she distorted, revealing her monstrous self—a reflection of her unrelenting hatred and obsession. Her distorted mindscape was a realm of endless corpses, representing her twisted ideal of humanity cleansed of impurity. Even in this state she confronted Sinclair on the hills of Calw, her obsession persisted. She spoke of a "mirror world" where he fought alongside her, hunting down prosthetic users as her partner in her crusade. This vision was not merely a delusion, but the ultimate expression of her twisted love: a world where Sinclair had accepted her ideals and stood by her side.

Ultimately, Sinclair, with help from his allies, found the strength to resist her manipulations. Kromer's reign ended when Demian delivered the final blow, cleaving her in half and silencing her fanaticism forever.

Dialogue Examples

Summoning Line:

"So, a heretic calls upon me? No… you are different. So be it, let's purify this world with hammer and nail!"

Bond 1:

"You are not what I expected. But even heretics can serve a purpose, I suppose."

Bond 2:

"Do you know Sinclair? A boy with untainted potential, one who would reshape the world with me. He resists, but I see his true self, even if he cannot."

Bond 3:

"The weak cling to prostetic and abandoned their true self. But Sinclair… he was different. I saw the spark in his eyes. That is why I chose him, why I still yearn to shape him into what he was meant to be."

Bond 4:

"My form may change, but Sinclair remains constant. He will understand one day—the world I dream of, the purity I offer. He will accept it."

Bond 5:

"Sinclair… you cannot run forever. Even here, in a world unknown to us, I feel your presence. The Grail may grant my wish, but my true desire is him. To mold him, to make him understand, to love me."

Wish for the Holy Grail:

"I do not need salvation or glory. All I need is Sinclair. I need him to see the dream I hold dear, to stand beside me as we purify this broken world together."

Like:

"My dear Sinclair's… his struggles, his resistance. They are proof that he is alive, that he can still be shaped into perfection."

Dislike:

"Prosthetics, machines, heretical constructs—they are blights upon humanity. They are abominations!"

Kromer's Relationship Sheet

Sinclair (Limbus Company Bus):

"My Sinclair, wandering aimlessly yet destined for greatness. How tragic it is to see him surrounded by filthy heretic and corruption. But even now, I know I can shape him into his truest self. He resists, but he does not understand—resistance only makes him more beautiful."

Sinclair (The One Who Shall Grip):

"Yes, this is the Sinclair I dream of—the pure, untainted lamb, unshaken in his resolve. Look at him, standing tall, his hands free from the machinery of heresy. He is perfection incarnate. My Sinclair. He is mine."

Sinclair (Cinq Association - South Section 4):

"This Sinclair… he bears the weight of false authority, wielding a blade for those who have no vision. Yet even beneath that polished exterior, I can see the cracks. He could still be mine. I will remind him of who he truly is."

Sinclair (Dawn Office):

"This Sinclair is a pitiful soul lost in his meaningless purpose, helping others those beneath him. But I see his potential. His light has not yet been extinguished. I will bring him into my fold, away from that wretched life."

Damien:

"Damien… that venomous snake who dared to taint my Sinclair's mind, who ripped him away from me. He called himself a savior, but all he did was fill Sinclair's head with lies. That wretched heretic deserves nothing but death."
