Game Of Thrones : Merchant of Two Worlds

Chapter 117: 117. The Earl of Spark City

The titanium alloy sword stood out with its incredible sharpness and durability, far surpassing the qualities of ordinary stainless steel. Its hilt was engraved with intricate patterns, giving it an air of mystery and sophistication. At the center of the hilt was a thumb-sized blue gemstone . The sword's overall design made it look like something out of legend.

However, the blue gemstone wasn't a real sapphire; it was a synthetic blue diamond. Despite being inexpensive—only a few hundred coins—it looked even more stunning than a natural sapphire. Its blue was brighter, purer, and more vibrant.

Jason Liu had spent 40,000 yuan to have this sword custom-made, which was quite a high price. But when he held it in his hands, admiring the dazzling blade and luxurious craftsmanship, he felt the expense was worth every coin.

After delegating company tasks to Lin Xiaohan, Jiang Chuchu, Regina, and Oliver, Jason brought his new sword, named Stormsong, along with the first shipment of goods from the warehouse, and traveled to Westeros.

By then, the stone castle he had been constructing for three months was finally complete. Today marked the day he would officially move in.

Jason began the day by asking Martha to sew a flag for his newly established Easter family—called the Starfire Flag. The flag was raised atop the castle, signifying his arrival as its lord.

The flag featured a gray background with a golden garden at its center. Six burning golden stars surrounded the garden, while a golden flame resembling a phoenix stood at the heart of the design. The combination of gray and gold gave it a distinct and noble appearance.

Wearing the Spark sword at his side, Jason officially declared himself Lord Jason Easter, the Earl of Starfire City, in front of his employees, soldiers, and followers. His family's motto was simple yet inspiring: "A single spark can start a prairie fire."

Hearing the news of Jason's move, townsfolk from the nearby Winter Market and farmers from surrounding villages came to help him settle in. Many of them had sons serving as soldiers in Jason's growing army.

Together, the townsfolk and soldiers' families moved piles of goods, clothes, and bedding from Martha's house into the castle. Jason's new home, a fortress-like stone structure, was modest yet strong and practical.

The layout of the estate was well-planned. The main castle housed Jason and his immediate staff. In front of it, a spacious storefront had been built, complete with a small courtyard. On the east side of the estate, barracks were constructed for the soldiers, alongside an armory.

The barracks included two rows of stone houses, each with ten rooms that could hold up to eight people per room. However, with only 110 soldiers under his command, most rooms housed just five or six men.

For convenience, Jason had arranged for septic tank toilets to be built on the outer edges of the barracks to keep unpleasant odors away from the castle. The soldiers also had a small training ground in front of the barracks, though it could only hold about 40 men at a time.

On the west side of the estate, there were living quarters for Jason's store employees, including Susan, Venissa, and Bella. A kitchen, a well, and a laundry room were also located nearby.

Behind the main castle stood the warehouse—the largest building on the property, taking up nearly a quarter of the land. Surrounding the entire estate was a sturdy stone wall over three meters high, providing security and protection.

As the soldiers' families helped unload goods into the warehouse, Jason's staff, including Lena and Venissa, worked on setting up his bedroom on the second floor of the castle. They spread soft bedding Jason had brought from modern times onto his bed. Meanwhile, Mike, dicken, and Bud carried in wooden furniture—wardrobes, chairs, and bookshelves—crafted by local carpenters.

Thanks to a pre-installed water tower and modern plastic pipes, the entire castle was equipped with functioning toilets and running water. This was a significant improvement over the traditional iron pipes commonly used in Westeros.

The soldiers moved into their barracks with great excitement. Each young recruit carried their bedding, washbasins, toothbrushes, towels, soap, and other essentials, while their younger siblings helped carry extra clothes and shoes. The soldiers' families, especially the women, cleaned and scrubbed the barracks and storefront with enthusiasm.

Martha, overseeing the move, instructed the soldiers' fathers to assemble wooden shelves and counters for the store. By noon, the entire castle was cleaned and set up, thanks to the hard work of everyone involved.

Grateful for their help and eager to win the loyalty of his followers, Jason announced a grand banquet that afternoon. He invited all soldiers and their families to join the feast, which was met with cheers of excitement.

The tavern owners in Winter Market were delighted with the news, as Jason ordered all the food and drink needed for the event from their establishments. Soon, carts loaded with barrels of ale arrived, and soldiers eagerly unloaded them onto the grounds.

Farmers brought cattle and sheep to be slaughtered for the feast. Women prepared the meat, rubbing it with olive oil and spices, while men threaded the animals onto wooden spits for roasting. The grills were set over roaring fires, filling the air with the mouthwatering aroma of sizzling meat.

Wooden tables borrowed from nearby homes were arranged across the school grounds. The cooks worked tirelessly, bringing out platters of food: white bread, braised pork, fried pork chops, pigeon pie, creamy chicken, beef stew with potatoes, and vegetable dishes like tomato scrambled eggs and cold cucumbers.

The feast was a sight to behold. Farmers and soldiers' families looked at the tables with glowing eyes, their mouths watering at the array of dishes. However, the banquet had yet to begin, and they dared not touch the food until Jason gave the signal. Parents kept their children at bay, shooing them away from the tables while they sniffed the tantalizing smells wafting through the air.

Jason's generosity left a deep impression on everyone. It wasn't just a feast—it was a statement of his leadership and care for his people.
