Gaming in the Underworld: Βασιλιάς

Chapter 4: New Deities

A lot of my skills were gone, mainly the blessings. That didn't bug me too much since I still had plenty of powerful skills and perks. I was confused however when I read through my perks as things had shifted around. Skill descriptions had also changed making me wonder just how much had been affected and how the effects of said skills had changed. Shrugging I looked at the new perk that was at the bottom of the list.

It was a perk that sounded a bit dangerous in my hands as I could potentially go around and make everyone gods. Thankfully it was mentioned that I could easily take someone's divinity if I wanted. I scanned the changes one more time before closing my system screen and looking at the two women.

"So, who wants to be a goddess?"

[Scene Break]

Turning people into divine beings turned out to be much more complicated than I thought. Selene went first, since it was technically a Perk I didn't know how I was supposed to go about converting my fiancée into a goddess. Thought in retrospect I should have figured that it would be something much more dramatic. I simply had to 'WILL' it to happen and without warning a blinding light engulfed Selene.

The sexy goth hybrid doubled over with a grunt of pain as the light intensified even more making me want to look away but I persevered. Moments later the light disappeared and Selene was left looking confused as she examined her hands.

"Feel any different?"

She hummed, "Stronger maybe, I can't really tell."

I cast Observe on her and waited for the system to display her stats.

Selene Lvl. 1

Race: Divine (620 Years Old)

Title: Goddess of the Moon

HP: 13,000,000/13,000,000

SP: 200,000/200,000

MP: 100,000/100,000

Allegiance: Blake Corvinus

Affection: 100

Status: Life Mate

Bio: Selene has avenged her family by striking the killing blow on Viktor, the man who slaughtered her family. Her goals realized she now seeks to build a life with Blake Corvinus formerly Corvin, her life mate. She has been gifted divinity by Blake Corvinus making her into the goddess of the moon after the disappearance of Artemis.

It had worked, I had turned Selene into a goddess. Her domain confused me though. I had thought that Artemis was still the goddess of the moon. I did remember her being strangely absent from the rest of the Olympians and decided that it was something I'd need to look into. If one of my mates were getting roped into duties they didn't want to do, I wanted to know beforehand so that I could do something about it.

"I worked, you're the Goddess of the Moon now, fitting given your name."

"Isn't there already a goddess of the moon?" Lena asked.

"I believe so, which brings up a few questions I'd like answered. Which I'll have to go back to Olympus for." I replied with a defeated sigh.

"We'd be more than happy to accompany you after Lena is gifted divinity." Selene added.

"Right, let's get this over with."

I raised my hand and pointed towards Lena, I focused a bit more on what I wanted to happen and Lena was engulfed by the same light as Selene had been in earlier. Lena bit back a yelp of pain as the divinity changed her body at the atomic level. She straightened out after a few moments and mirrored Selene in checking herself for changes. Lena hummed after several minutes of patting herself down.

"Selene was right, other than the feeling of being… more. Not much has changed."

I looked at her stats with Observe as well hoping that there would be no more surprises.

Lena Lvl. 1

Race: Divine (680 Years Old)

Title: Goddess of Prophecy

HP: 15,000,000/15,000,000

SP: 200,000/200,000

MP: 1,000,000/1,000,000

Allegiance: Blake Corvinus

Affection: 90

Status: Mate

Bio: Born to the leader of the Nordic Coven, Vidar, Lena has had the ability to gaze into the Sacred World beyond death. Her constant contact with the Sacred World has gifted her with prophetic dreams and visions. Once bonded to Matthias Corvinus, she is now mated with Blake Corvinus. She has been granted dominion over prophecy separate from the domain Apollo controls. She seeks that which may come not that which is to come.

Lena had a more straightforward 'domain' from what I understood from her bio. It was interesting to see that she was only a few decades older than Selene but she had quite a bit more magical power. I attributed this to the fact that Selene was a more physical fighter whereas Lena liked to utilize the powers she had gotten from her constant access of the 'Sacred World'. I was still on the fence as to what exactly that place was. According to Matthais it was sort of an afterlife but not really. I didn't want to start thinking about what lay beyond the veil. Seeing that me and my mates were immortal and now exceedingly difficult to kill, I saw no problem in not worrying about it.

"Goddess of Prophecy, not bad. Not really a big change but I guess only time will tell."

"Prophecy is not meant to be taken to heart, it only hints at what may come."

"Never put much stock into the whole palm reading nonsense either."

"Palm Reading and prophecy are two different things Blake." Selene said.

"Well, they're both layered in mysticism revolving around reading someone's fate and what not, I prefer to make my own fate."

"Fair point." Lena conceded.

"Except when you're thrust into being the king of a bunch of gods and goddesses." Selene smirked.

I let out a groan, "Please don't remind me, we need to get back soon."

"What about Luna and Aurora?"

"They can come with. I'll smite anyone who messes with them."

"We can just have Bill babysit them for a bit, or even Tia." Selene supplied.

"Should be fine I suppose, though I think everyone would like to meet their new Princesses."

"I didn't think about that, our daughters are princesses now."

"As if they weren't before that. They had Blake wrapped around their fingers as soon as they learned to talk."

"Right, enough of that. Let's get going." I quickly spoke hoping to cut the conversation off before it devolved to a round of teasing my less than conventional parenting skills.

I was new to the whole being a parent ordeal, I tended to just give the twins whatever they wanted whether it was a new animal in the Pocket Dimension for them to chase around or all the sweets they could stomach. If my princesses wanted it, they would get it. It didn't matter if that animal didn't really exist or if that sweet they craved was only being made halfway across the world in another country, I would make it happen. Part of me reasons that I was making up for a childhood I never had, but I knew that I was just spoiling my kids. I was going to leave it to Selene to discipline our daughters. Logic was, they were girls and it would only make sense for a woman to be the one to tell them what was right and wrong.

We looked at each other one more time before teleporting straight to Olympus. The throne room had been cleaned up somewhat. Divines and Demigods alike milled about in small groups. Hera spotted me and walked up to me with an unreadable expression.

"Ready to address the crowds?"

I raised an eyebrow, "We're you expecting me to have a speech ready?"

"Well, I- right… I had thought that you'd have some things to say."

"Oh I have some things to say."
