Genshin Impact: The God Incarnate

Chapter 32: Chapter 032: Will You Go or Not?

After bidding farewell to Vorthis and Morax, Guizhong left the Liyue territory.

Upon returning to Guizhong City, Guizhong gently touched the transparent, light white shield outside. As the shield's maintainer, Vorthis naturally felt the fluctuations in its power.

From the way the shield was knocked, it was a secret signal they had established.

After confirming the signal, Vorthis immediately cut off the power maintaining the shield, and the transparent, light white shield gradually began to collapse until it completely vanished over Guizhong City.

Once back in her palace, Guizhong spent her time contemplating one thing.

After conversing with Morax and Vorthis and visiting the Liyue territory, Guizhong became more certain of her desire to form an alliance.

Morax indeed lacked some ability in governance, but with Vorthis's addition, this weakness was remedied.

However, Guizhong did not believe that Vorthis's presence would become an obstacle in her alliance with Morax.

While Vorthis did possess great wisdom in governance, it seemed he did not focus on this matter.

With Morax's formidable strength combined with her own intelligence and technology, Guizhong was confident they could create the future she envisioned.

Moreover, they shared the same governance philosophy.

These factors strengthened Guizhong's resolve to form an alliance with Morax.

"If we're to form an alliance, then there should be a symbolic object representing our alliance," she thought.

With this in mind, Guizhong immediately began her design.

As someone proficient in mechanical engineering, she decided to create a dumbbell that would be almost impossible to use.

To master it, one would need intelligence surpassing her own!

And so it was decided!

Guizhong joyfully sat at her stone table, sketching out her design.

She intended to pour all her wisdom and technical skills into creating this dumbbell.

This dumbbell would symbolize the alliance between her, the God of Dust, Hagensus, and the Geo God, Morax!

As long as the dumbbell existed, she would never break the alliance!

However, if Morax treated even the symbol of the alliance as something disposable, it would be clear that the alliance no longer had any purpose.

But after extensive research and observation of Morax's deeds, Guizhong did not believe Morax would be such a person.

He was trustworthy and valued promises.

For an entire month, Guizhong immersed herself in the task, pouring everything she had learned into the creation of this dumbbell.

Finally, after a month's effort, she completed the dumbbell.

With the last rune and piece finally in place, the dumbbell, containing all her wisdom, was now complete!

The dumbbell floated quietly in front of her, its internal mechanisms rotating constantly, and a golden light emanated from its outer layer.

"I'll call you the Memory of Dust, as the symbol of our future alliance," Guizhong said with a smile, cradling the Memory of Dust in her arms.

At the same time, she hoped to one day personally present the Memory of Dust to Morax.

Meanwhile, Vorthis sat in the pavilion, bored, with his face resting in his hands on the table.

More than a month had passed since Guizhong, the God of Dust, visited Liyue and returned to Guizhong's territory.

There had been no news from her since.

"Ugh, when is Guizhong going to bring up the idea of an alliance?"

"I wonder if my butterfly wings can cause a storm..."

Vorthis mumbled to himself.

Although he wasn't sure exactly when Guizhong would meet with Morax, he was certain that he had advanced their meeting.

He had also invited Guizhong to visit the Liyue territory he had governed.

During their conversation over tea, they got along quite well. Logically, this should have moved the alliance's timeline forward.

So why, after a whole month, had nothing happened yet? Was this really the determined Guizhong from the records?

"Waiting like this is pointless," Vorthis muttered.

He had an idea.

Since Guizhong hadn't come forward to form the alliance, he could just take Morax and visit her territory.

But... what excuse could he use to bring Morax along?

Vorthis stroked his chin as he pondered this problem.

Aha!

Vorthis's eyes lit up as an idea struck him.

"Morax! Morax!"

Vorthis called out and ran to Morax's side.

Upon hearing Vorthis's call, Morax looked up and saw him rushing toward him.

Morax didn't sense the presence of any other Gods nearby, so it seemed like nothing major had occurred.

Sighing inwardly, Morax shook his head.

"What's up?" he asked.

"Let's go visit Guizhong, sister," Vorthis suggested.

Vorthis wanted to visit Guizhong?

"Oh, you can go by yourself. Why take me with you?"

Morax assumed that Vorthis was simply bored and wanted to visit the God of Dust.

After all, the two of them had a childish side and always got along well.

"I can't go by myself! What if something happens on the way?"

"But Guizhong said her territory is full of other Gods fighting over land. It's dangerous!"

Vorthis pretended to look frightened.

Morax sighed, unsure of what Vorthis was scheming this time.

Given Vorthis's strength as the God of Manifestation, Morax knew he could easily protect himself.

Even if he had grown somewhat lazy with time, his strength could still deal with other Gods if necessary.

Morax sighed again.

"Alright, tell me, why do you need me to go with you?"

Seeing that Morax had asked directly, Vorthis decided to be honest.

"Because I want to."

"And also, you've been holed up in your room all day studying stuff. You're turning into a stone!"

Vorthis said playfully.

"I was just..."

Morax began to explain that he was planning for the future of Liyue, but was immediately cut off by Vorthis.

Vorthis leaned in and looked at Morax with a grin.

"Just say yes or no. If not, let's play chess. It's been ages since I last played with you."

Vorthis made himself comfortable and sat down in front of Morax.

Is this the same trick again?

Morax fell silent.

In the end, between playing chess and going, he chose to go.
