Genshin Impact: The God Incarnate

Chapter 33: Chapter 033: Memory of Dust

Morax sighed and waved his hand dismissively.

"Fine, fine. Let's go."

Compared to a game of chess with Vorthis, Morax found the idea of visiting Guizhong's territory far more appealing.

Not that he feared losing to Vorthis in a chess match—it was just that Vorthis's games were anything but straightforward.

As the inventor of many such games, Vorthis naturally possessed a keen understanding of them. Yet, after observing just a few matches, he would often devise ways to manipulate the rules to his advantage.

When challenged about his rule-breaking, Vorthis would respond unabashedly:

"As the creator, who understands the rules better—me or you?"

Faced with such an absurd yet logical argument, Morax always found himself at a loss for words.

Vorthis's behavior was outrageous yet strangely convincing.

"Let's go right now!" Vorthis grinned, clearly pleased with himself.

Morax could only shake his head in resignation. Dealing with Vorthis was always an exercise in patience.

After ensuring Liyue's protective barriers were secure, two beams of light shot into the sky, rapidly heading toward Guizhong's domain.

Meanwhile, Guizhong had completed her symbol of alliance, the Memory of Dust.

However, she had not yet found an opportunity to leave her territory and deliver it to Morax.

The constant skirmishes among neighboring gods over land left her wary of leaving her domain unprotected.

Little did she know, Vorthis and Morax were already on their way to her palace.

"Guizhong! I brought Morax to visit you!"

Hovering above Guizhong's palace, Vorthis called out loudly.

Guizhong, deep in thought, froze.

That voice—was it Vorthis?

And he said he brought Morax with him?!

Her initial surprise quickly turned into joy. A smile spread across her face as she hurried to the palace entrance.

"Vorthis, Morax! What brings you two here?" Guizhong greeted them warmly.

Morax sighed, glancing at Vorthis.

"It was Vorthis who insisted on coming," he explained.

"What do you mean? Brother Morax came willingly. Don't listen to his nonsense," Vorthis retorted with a playful grin.

Guizhong chuckled softly, her heart swelling with gratitude.

If Morax weren't present, she might have embraced Vorthis on the spot for his impeccable timing.

The Memory of Dust was ready, and now, she had the perfect opportunity to present it to Morax and solidify their alliance.

"Please, come in. Standing outside would make me seem like a poor host," Guizhong said with a smile.

Vorthis nodded eagerly. "Come on, Brother Morax, let's go inside!"

"Very well," Morax replied.

Led by Guizhong, the trio entered the grand hall of her palace.

At the center of the room, on a stone table, lay a gleaming, intricate metal creation, faintly glowing with golden light.

Vorthis's eyes lit up as he recognized the object immediately.

The Memory of Dust!

Though he hadn't obtained this artifact in his previous adventures, he was well aware of its significance.

His curiosity piqued, Vorthis leaned closer to examine it.

"Guizhong, what's that on your table? Is it something made with mechanical techniques?"

Guizhong turned and realized she had forgotten to put away the Memory of Dust in her excitement.

Caught off guard, she hesitated before responding, "Yes, it's a creation of mine, crafted using advanced mechanical techniques."

Guizhong hadn't intended to present it to Morax just yet, but faced with Vorthis's inquiry, she decided to explain.

"This represents the culmination of all my wisdom and craftsmanship," she said.

Morax, now intrigued, also began examining the artifact.

"What's it for?" Vorthis asked, feigning innocence.

Guizhong hesitated. The Memory of Dust was meant to symbolize her alliance with Morax.

Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself and stepped forward, lifting the Memory of Dust from the table.

She approached Morax with purposeful steps, her expression resolute.

"This is the Memory of Dust," she began.

"I have poured all my wisdom and skill into creating it. Within it lies not only my craft but also my heartfelt intentions."

Turning to Vorthis, she continued, "You asked about its purpose, didn't you? Well, it has no practical use. It offers no offensive capabilities, nor does it grant any significant benefits."

"Then what is it for?" Morax asked, puzzled.

"It is a symbol," Guizhong declared.

"A symbol of alliance."

Her gaze locked onto Morax's as she held the Memory of Dust toward him.

"Geo of God, Morax, will you accept my alliance?"

Morax stared at the artifact, momentarily stunned. The unexpected proposal left him at a loss for words.
