Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 372: Statham's Decision

Perched on a branch, Statham excitedly observed the camp, assessing its defenses.

Although he could tell that the shelter had recently been attacked, he was also not in good condition, so he still had to be very careful.

After some time, he confirmed that the guards were armed but seemed poorly trained and ill-prepared for a serious threat. They were probably thinking that there wouldn't be another attack since they had just fended one off...

That certainly made sense since the Zombies around would still take quite some time before they could spawn.

'It won't take long before the night comes…' Statham muttered as he took his time to recover while observing the shelter. These Survivors had just survived the Boss Raid, and they must've received decent rewards. Furthermore, those Survivors even wore the same type of uniform as police officers.

It seemed that they had a better defense with this set of clothes.

After some time, he could see the flicker of a campfire in the center of the encampment, where a handful of humans sat, talking and eating.

'Go ahead and make your bodies delicious before I take your lives…' Statham muttered.

Their blood would be fresh and potent, perfect for his needs.

Statham's mind raced with various strategies to ensure that no one would be able to escape his attack…

He needed to strike quickly and efficiently, taking what he needed without drawing too much attention. Just like before, he couldn't let himself be surrounded since he had no idea what kind of Talent they were hiding.

As the dusk fell, Statham knew that it was the perfect time to attack. His eyes were fixed on the weakest point in the camp's defenses.

As one of the guards wandered away from his post, Statham seized the opportunity.

He swooped down silently… His bat form allowed him to move undetected.

Whoosh~

Transforming back into his Vampire form just before landing, he grabbed the guard from behind, sinking his fangs into the man's neck. The guard's struggles were brief, and his life force quickly drained. It only took him less than 10 seconds to fully consume the life force of the guard.

Nonetheless, the guard seemed to be only Level 10 and was barely enough for him…

Still, after feeling the rush of fresh blood coursing through his veins, Statham's injuries began to heal. His bleeding had already stopped, and some strength was slowly returning to him. Discover exclusive content at empire

He then slowly dropped the lifeless body and moved swiftly through the camp, targeting isolated individuals and draining them quickly…

Thankfully, this shelter's Barrier wasn't working yet, or perhaps they didn't have a barrier at all.

Within minutes, he had taken enough blood to fully recover.

However, the guards seemed to be using a signal from time to time, and as soon as they noticed that some of them weren't replying, they were able to tell that something had happened to the other guards!

Just like that, the camp was soon in disarray. Some of them even started panicking as they discovered the bodies of their fallen comrades.

Statham, on the other hand, felt his strength renewed from the fresh blood he had consumed. Then, it was followed with a surge of confidence.

"Come!"

He wasn't done with the humans yet. The taste of their blood had only whetted his appetite, and he intended to drain every last one of them.

As he moved through the camp, he was able to drain two more Survivors and as he was ready to strike again, a sudden movement caught his eye.

A couple appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, to intercept him. The woman had striking green hair, and the man had jet-black hair. Both were clad in SWAT uniforms, and they were eyeing him as if trying to look for his weakness…

Statham had no plans of greeting them as he bared his fangs…

Without hesitation, the two Survivors raised their pistols and fired at Statham.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The Vampire's enhanced reflexes kicked in, and he dodged the bullets with supernatural speed, his body started twisting and contorting to avoid the deadly projectiles.

It seemed that his Bloodlust, Charm, and Confusion weren't effective against this couple…

Statham's eyes narrowed as he assessed his new opponents. He had no idea who they were, but their skill and coordination were evident.

What he didn't know was that these two were top rankers on the leaderboard. The man was Lancelot, the Clan Leader of the Overlord Clan, and the woman was Lesley Cotton, one of the strongest survivors of Region 2.

Lancelot and Lesley moved in perfect sync as they started using the effects of their pistols…

Statham could tell that the bullets aimed at him may look simple, but he knew that their penetration ability was off the charts. He was able to tell this because of his Danger Sense Skill.

'Tsk… I didn't expect to meet two elite Survivors here…' Statham frowned. Perhaps, if the Spirit Points of these two were at the peak, he would truly get into trouble.

Lancelot's shots could almost predict his movement as it would always follow his movement. Furthermore, the man always aimed at his vital points while Lesley used her agility to flank him… Lesley wasn't as good as Lancelot, but she was still fast and able to get a bit closer to the Vampire and shoot him!

Statham realized he was outmatched.

These two, if grouped together, were strong fighters, and engaging them in a prolonged battle would be a mistake.

He needed to escape before they could corner him. In any case, he already recovered some of his strength. He'd rather not get himself injured even more until he was able to recover even half of his real strength… Once he was back at his peak, it wouldn't be too late to take his revenge.

For now, he had to find a cave where he could hibernate.

With a swift motion, Statham transformed into a bat and darted through the air.
