Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 373: Chat

Lancelot and Lesley fired at him, but the bat was too quick. It was incredibly fast at it weaved through the trees and disappeared into the night.

Lancelot lowered his pistols, and his eyes scanned the darkness. "He's gone," he said, his voice calm but alert.

Lesley nodded, holstering her weapons. "That's true… But what the f*ck was that? Why is a vampire here? Is that some sort of Talent?"

"It must be a Legendary Talent. We need to warn the others. That Vampire is dangerous, and he won't stop until he's satisfied. The other shelters might be in danger." Lancelot said as he knew that this Survivor with Vampire Talent wouldn't stop just like that.

Lesley agreed. Her expression was serious as she actually tried to use her Talent against the Vampire… Her Talent was actually a Legendary Grade called Petrifying Gaze.

Aside from those with equipment that had magic resistance or something similar, she had never met someone who could stop her Petrifying Gaze. Even Lancelot, who had the strongest defense among them, was still affected by the gaze, even if it only lasted for five seconds.

Because of that, she knew that her Petrifying Gaze could also affect other Survivors with Legendary Talents. Even if the Vampire was strong, she expected that he would still get petrified, even if it was only for a second. However, even if he did not have any artifact that could stop her Talent, the Vampire was still able to completely ignore her petrification skill.

That was definitely a dangerous criminal Survivor, and he must be killed immediately.

Because of that, the two of them didn't hide anything from the others and informed everyone in the Regional Chat about what had happened.

Soon, the chat was talking about the Vampire.

[ Miriam: What? A Vampire this time? I remember that we were warned about that strange Survivor with a talent to Transform into a Zombie. Now, we're dealing with a Vampire. ]

[ Travis: Interesting… I wonder if this Vampire has Blood Servants like Lesser Vampires or Thralls in the books. Right, I recalled someone telling us about this Survivor with Vampiric Skills. I forgot their names. ]

[ Alice Mae: That's me and my team. We found fifty dried-up corpses before. I thought it was a Zombie that sucks blood, but it must really be a Vampire, like what Lesley said. ]

[ Travis: Oh! I remember now. You guys found those corpses in that Castle you're supposed to siege. You must be living in that Castle right now. Is that location good? ]

[ Hector: Travis, why are you always online? Are you not trying to level up? Are you using some sort of slaves bringing Zombies to you to get looted? ] Explore hidden tales at empire

[ Travis: I pretend I didn't read that. ]

[ Liam: This is getting out of hand. First, we had to deal with Necromancers raising the dead from those Wild Shelters, and now Vampires? What's next? ]

[ Travis: Maybe we'll also encounter Aliens invading us. ]

[ Raze: Can you tell us where this Vampire last sighted? ]

[ Lesley: It's in our new shelter located at Sector 15 ]

[ Lancelot: That Vampire seemed to be injured, so it might look for blood somewhere to recover. If my guess is right, he can't drink Zombie Blood because they're contaminated or something. ]

[ Zara: We need to strengthen our defenses. If this Vampire can create Thralls, we might be facing an army soon. ]

[ Natalie: We just fought off a group of Necromancers from three Wild Shelter. They were well-armed and organized. Is there anyone here who thought of how to deal with the Necromancers and their undead summons? They're getting pretty annoying. However, their shelters have Automated Turret and are too tough to deal with. They can attack our camp, but we can't attack their base… ]

[ Travis: Same here. We had a run-in with some Necromancers. They were summoning Ghouls and Skeleton Warriors. However, those Necromancers were also limited by their dark energy. You should've noticed by now that they'll just escape once most of their summons are killed. You should aim to strike back this time.

Endure their assault and launch a special squad to ambush them once they start retreating. ]

[ Zara: That's true… It actually felt something off. Even though they knew that they would fail, they would still attack another shelter even if they lost a lot of their summons. They should've just waited to attack until they had a stronger force. It felt as if they were in a hurry. ]

[ Lyra: Are you telling us that they have some sort of a mission? ]

This comment made everyone think as they voiced their opinions.

Then, as they were chatting about the Vampire, the Zombie Transformer, and the Wild Shelter's Necromancers, a Ranker who rarely sends any messages in the Regional Chat suddenly made a comment and it stunned many.

After all, this was the known Rank 2 Survivor in the Leaderboard!

However, his message was the one that made them truly impressed!

[ Asad: The Necromancers are most likely otherworlders like us and sent to this world to survive against the Zombies and against us. The one who sent them here must be different from the one who sent us here. ]

As he said this, everyone immediately stopped chatting and considered this for a moment.

This was certainly a new perspective.

They had never considered other godly beings that could transport a huge number of people to another world. No, to be exact, they had no time to analyze this matter since they were ultimately too busy to survive.

Nonetheless, this information may not sound helpful at first, but because of this, they wouldn't just think of Necromancers as 'monsters' that were sent to them by the system to kill.

It seemed that they were just small pieces in a large chessboard that was going on!

Being a pawn or a chess piece doesn't seem to suit well with most of them…

[ Travis: Our level is just too low… Just level up and get stronger. ]

[ Shane: That's true… Everyone must focus on reaching a higher level first. Also, don't neglect your subordinates. This includes your friends, pets, recruits, and your clan. They must improve with you. ]
