Chapter 4: Chapter 4 - A New Devil Bat
As Hiruma and Sena walked toward the football pitch, Hiruma's sharp eyes were scanning the field, already strategizing plays in his head. But just before he could start barking out orders to the rest of the team, his attention was drawn to someone standing nearby, walking towards them.
Hiruma's eyes narrowed as he studied the unfamiliar figure.
"Who the hell is that?" Hiruma asked Hiruma, eyes still locked on the stranger.
Sena, catching the direction of Hiruma's gaze, turned to look as well. "Huh? Oh, I think that's TJ. He's the cousin of Mamori, who was picking him up at the airport yesterday. I think he just finished his registration today."
Hiruma's eyebrows shot up in surprise. He hadn't been expecting to see anyone else from outside the team hanging around the field. He didn't know much about Mamori's cousin, but with a body like that he was sure he would make a great football player.
"Hmm, Mamori's cousin, huh? I see..." Hiruma's mind quickly shifted to how he could use this new player to his advantage.
Sena, still slightly winded from Hiruma's earlier dragging, followed the quarterback as they jogged over to TJ. Hiruma's steps were confident, every movement purposeful.
As they approached, Hiruma gave a quick glance at Sena and smirked. "Better keep up, rookie. If you fall behind, I'll drag you again."
When they reached TJ, Hiruma didn't waste any time. "Yo, you. Who the hell are you?"
TJ turned his head to face the two of them, his posture still casual but his eyes now sharp, sizing them up as they approached. A small grin spread across his face as he recognized Hiruma immediately, having seen his intense presence around campus and heard about his leadership of the football team.
"I'm TJ," he said, his voice confident, but not cocky. He extended a hand toward Hiruma, who raised an eyebrow at the gesture. Hiruma wasn't one to shake hands with just anyone, but something about this guy intrigued him enough to indulge the formality.
"I'm guessing you're the one they call Hiruma, right?" TJ continued, his Japanese flawless, his accent barely noticeable. "I've heard of you."
Hiruma eyed TJ's hand for a second before shaking it firmly. "Heh, you've heard of me, huh? I like that. Don't get too cocky now, rookie. I've got my eye on you."
Kurita, the towering lineman, had been watching the exchange from a distance, his massive frame making him stand out even more. He ambled over to join them, his slow, deliberate pace making it clear that he wasn't in a hurry to engage in anything fast-paced.
"Whao, wassup Fatass you're here extra early today" said Hiruma.
"Good Moring Hiruma, Sena! This is the first time we've had 3 people since the clubs started. I Was so Excited I couldnt sleep. In fact I was so pumped I started Practicing at 2 a.m hahaha" Exclaimed Kurita
"YAHAHAHA, you guys here this idiot over here? Hiruma pointing at Kurita
"Ohhh, Hiruma who's this? a new Team member?" asked an Excited Kurita
"No Idea Fatass, we were just introducing ourselves before you came along." said Hiruma
"Hey," he started, his voice calm yet steady. "You must be Hiruma and Kurita, right?"
Hiruma's sharp eyes immediately locked onto TJ, sizing him up as he approached. Kurita, standing silently behind him, watched with his usual quiet intensity. Hiruma gave a small grunt of acknowledgment, his lips twitching into something that resembled a smirk.
"Yeah, that's us," Hiruma said, his voice cool and casual, but there was a hint of challenge in his tone. "And you are?"
TJ grinned, stepping forward and extending his hand toward Hiruma first. "I'm TJ Evans, Mamori's cousin. I just moved here from the States," he said confidently, giving both of them a firm handshake. "I'm looking forward to checking out the school, especially the football scene."
"Ohhh!? You play football?" Exclaimed Kurita, happy about the new potential teammate.
"YAHA! With me, Fatass and nerd over here, we only need 7 more people until we can play a game!" Exclaimed Hiruma as he fired fireworks and guns across the sky.
"Alright you Yankee, based on you being from America you already probably know how to play football at the very least. You came at the perfect time, were were just about to do our physical tests"
"Hey Fatass get ready to do the 40!" shouted Hiruma
