Haikyuu - I Am A Different Hinata!

Chapter 43: Chapter 43 - VS Tokonami (Final)

"Karasuno is completely different from what the old rumors said... it seems the rumors about them being an extremely strong team were true..." Tamagawa sighed, appearing resigned to defeat.

"Yeah, at the level they're showing, we don't have the slightest chance of even thinking about winning. Damn rumors that gave us hope," said Chaya, also seeming resigned to defeat.

"You can't win without believing..." Ikejiri thought, but accidentally said it out loud, making all his teammates stare at him.

"Oh, it's nothing... just something a friend said once..." he said, visibly embarrassed until the referee whistled for the second set to begin.

"Kageyama, power serve!" Daichi shouted to Kageyama, who jumped and executed a powerful serve that landed in Tokonami's court.

Subsequently, Kageyama stayed focused and managed to score two more consecutive aces for Karasuno.

"Looks like with Hinata and Kageyama, Karasuno's team has two problematic servers. Of course, Hinata's is on another level, but it's not like Kageyama's is anything to scoff at!" Iwaizumi observed.

"Of course! He learned to serve from me... you think someone trying to follow in my footsteps would be mediocre?" Oikawa boasted.

"Shut up!" said Iwaizumi while smacking Oikawa on the back of his head.

"But thinking about it after observing for a while, the main reason Hinata's serves are so problematic would be his change in approach that can come at any moment," said Oikawa.

"You're talking about the power?" Kindaichi asked.

"Yes, he switches from a serve more like mine focused on speed, which he can slow down for better precision, to one more focused on power. For players who aren't very good at receiving... this can be a big challenge," Oikawa analyzed.

Kageyama had managed to score five consecutive points with his serve until the moment he served again, this time towards Komaki, who managed to put in the effort and make the reception. Then Haga set the ball for Tamagawa, who managed to jump and spike the ball towards Asahi's block, which luckily hit the side of Asahi's hands and went out.

"I'm sorry!" said Asahi.

"No problem!" Tanaka comforted him before hearing shouting from the other side of the net.

"YEAH!" the Tokonami players shouted.

"We finally scored our point!" Komaki said excitedly.

"Now we can really get into the game, we can score many more points!" said Tamagawa.

"Guys..." said Ikejiri, approaching.

"You can't win without believing, right?" Tamagawa said, seeming excited.

"We can win!" Komaki added.

"Hey! Let's focus!" Daichi shouted before Chaya made his serve towards Tanaka, who easily managed to receive it.

"Nice receive!" said Kageyama, who decided to set for Tanaka on his right in position two. Tanaka managed to make a cross-court shot that passed beside Tokonami's double block and hit the floor immediately after.

6-1 Karasuno

"YEAH! ONE MORE POINT!" Tanaka shouted while clenching both fists and raising his arms in euphoria.

"HEY! STOP SHOUTING!" said Daichi, also shouting, making the match referee bring the whistle to his mouth and issue a warning, leaving Daichi embarrassed.

"Haha, this Karasuno team is weird... they managed to get a warning even while winning the game by a large margin!" said a spectator, laughing.

After Karasuno's point, it was Tanaka's turn to serve, and he put the ball in play towards Tokonami's court. They managed to receive it, and subsequently, the ball went to their setter, who set for Ikejiri. He gave his all to jump and hit the ball with all his strength after facing Hinata's block, and the ball hit Hinata's hands but easily returned to Karasuno's court.

"Free ball," said Tsukishima with his indifferent tone, and easily directed the ball to Kageyama, who decided to set for Hinata who was on his left in position four. This time he made a long set away from the net, giving Hinata space to think about the play. Hinata jumped and decided to hit with his left hand, executing an over-the-line attack that caught Tokonami's defense off guard, barely able to react.

The ball went to Tanaka again, who made his serve that this time ended up hitting the net and returning to Karasuno's court and hitting the floor.

"Damn it!" Tanaka raged at his own mistake.

"Forget it, let's continue!" said Daichi.

"Looks like we only score points from their mistakes..." Chaya observed.

"That doesn't matter, every point is an important point, we have to keep trying!" said Komaki, trying to have a positive thought that didn't help much, as the match continued with Karasuno's dominance until the end, even though Tokonami's players gave their best. The score ended with Karasuno's victory at 25-9, finalizing the 2-0 victory.

"I think Karasuno should have slowed down their pace, after all, they still have another game today..." said Kindaichi after observing the end of Karasuno's match.

"Well, most of Karasuno's players played seriously, but didn't you see that idiot was playing with his left hand since the beginning of the match? He was just playing around," said Oikawa.

"But does that matter?" Kindaichi asked, confused.

"Of course it does! Try to hit any attack with your left hand, I doubt you could even score a point," Iwaizumi responded.

"But at least we got an idea of the level they're at currently," said Oikawa as he turned to leave.

"Let's go! We still need to win our match!" said Iwaizumi.

The Karasuno players could be seen walking through the corridors of the Sendai City Gymnasium when they heard a voice.

"Sawamura!" said Ikejiri with some tears in his eyes, making Daichi and the rest of the Karasuno team turn to look at him.

"Win! Win for us!" said Ikejiri.

"Of course!" said Daichi, clenching his hands and then continuing on his way.
