Harry Potter's : Fantastic Beasts Guide

Chapter 61: Wingardium Leviosa

In the days following David's receiving permission to explore the Forbidden Forest, he spent much of his time wandering the woods alongside Hagrid. This forest, known for its magical and sometimes dangerous creatures, was a place of both wonder and trepidation. One of their notable encounters was with Aragog, the enormous eight-eyed spider. David felt a mix of fear and awe as Hagrid assured him that Aragog was merely expressing friendship, despite the spider's intimidating presence.

On a lighter note, David experienced the thrill of flying when he received a Nimbus 2000 broomstick after a midnight duel with Harry. He enjoyed soaring around the castle, but his excitement was short-lived. Harry's newfound joy in flying was quickly overshadowed by rigorous Quidditch training led by Oliver Wood, who insisted that Harry needed to improve his skills if they were to have any chance at winning the Quidditch Cup. This left Harry with little time for anything else, including completing his homework, which David helped him manage.

Meanwhile, Ron became an enthusiastic supporter of Harry's Quidditch endeavors, always cheering him on during practice sessions. However, it seemed that Ron's dedication to supporting Harry left him little time for his own studies. In contrast, Neville found himself sitting next to David during classes, relishing the opportunity to learn without fear of criticism from Professor Snape, who often targeted David with harsh remarks.

As Halloween approached, the atmosphere at Hogwarts transformed into one of festivity. The corridors were adorned with pumpkin decorations, filling the air with a sweet scent. In class, Professor Flitwick introduced an exciting lesson on magic spells. Each student found a feather on their desk, which would be used for their spellcasting practice.

Professor Flitwick announced that they would be learning a floating spell today. He encouraged students to guess what they would be doing with the feathers. Hermione quickly identified it as the Levitation Charm, "Wingardium Leviosa," showcasing her knowledge and earning points for Gryffindor.

Under Professor Flitwick's guidance, students began practicing the spell. He demonstrated how to wave their wands correctly while reciting the incantation. As they practiced, Neville struggled initially but received encouragement from David to focus on his wand movements.

The lesson was filled with laughter and excitement as students attempted to make their feathers float. Amidst this joyful chaos, Professor Flitwick celebrated Neville's success when he finally managed to levitate his feather, marking a memorable moment in their magical education.

This blend of adventure in the Forbidden Forest and lessons in magic created an engaging narrative for David and his friends as they navigated life at Hogwarts—filled with challenges, friendships, and magical discoveries.
