A hundred years ago, blood fell upon humanity as Gods contested for the Earth's domination. They created gates on every continent, humanity named them "Hexes". From them, monsters known as "Outsiders" ravaged both rural and urban areas causing the population to be on the brink of extinction. 

All hope seems to have been lost until…

The Gods took pity on the human race. They bestowed them with supernatural abilities. These people were called the . With these strange powers, humanity had started to fight back and the world was starting to adapt again with the changes. 

Hexes were monopolized and hoarded for their rare resources, causing the world economy to depend on the power hiding beneath the gates. Because of this, the hunter system was introduced to discover hidden awakened talents from normal people. Guilds were formed by powerful hunters in order to gain dominance over the Hexes. To prevent instability and future conflicts, governments around the world established their own Hunter Agencies.

A new era was flourishing as new awakeners were being enlisted by the Guilds everyday. However, not everyone is fortunate to be awakened with high ranking class and abilities. It is now common knowledge that the highest class-possible for a hunter to be awakened is the X-Class. Hunters in this class are often working in hiding and inclusivity within the Agencies and Guilds. On the other hand, the lowest rank is considered to be "G", possessed by a Filipino Hunter by the name of Mike Sandoval.

A loser indeed…

In the outskirts of Tondo, Manila, Mike Sandoval once again joined a raiding party led by the S-Class hunter, Tesa Dela Cruz. Her complexion is undoubtedly considered as one of the most beautiful in Asia. She got famous because she awakened with the rare class of Saintess. With her power, she assembled one of the most powerful raiding groups under the Sarimbal Guild– The White Crusaders. They are the group specialized in using the coveted skills of divine power and are mostly religious. They are responsible for clearing the recent Pasig "Black" Hex incident that killed more than 100,000 people in Metro Manila. Normally, in order to qualify as a member of this group, a hunter should be at least B-Rank and should possess immense weaponry. However, this time is different as Mike Sandoval temporarily joined the raiding party.

Outside, the Saintess is happy that a hunter is joining her powerful party but deep within, she is extremely agitated. The public had known her as the kindest hunter in the Philippines but the Military classified her as "highly dangerous" because she is a former serial killer. Her identity was not disclosed by the Military in exchange that she will be a semi-autonomous criminal. It is because of this reason that she was disqualified from establishing a guild despite having the skills and financial capacity. It also disabled her from having an absolute raiding power that hunters normally have.

Actually, she shouldn't be raiding a dungeon today because of her circumstances. Fortunately, under the hunter code, Semi-Autonomous criminals that are awakened as high-ranking could not have a temporary absolute raiding power in any measures unless it is with the reason of training a weak hunter under his or her specific hunting group.

She found a perfect opportunity to hoard a high ranking dungeon alongside her underlings. But still, she hates Mike.

"Once we succeed in raiding this Black Hex, we will divide the loot from it. Of course, the drop from the boss will automatically be given to me as I am your Party Leader, do you have any problem with that?," Her voice sounded soft yet threatening.

The knights swung their heads from left to right indicating their agreement to the female hunter's rule.

Certainly, no one would dare to speak against her when…

"Excuse me?," Mike Sandoval raised his slim hands and spoke in the midst of the crowd, "Is it possible to have our loot share be increased if we are gonna work twice as hard?"

Tesa is infuriated when he hears the absurd proposal of the weak hunter in front of her. How dare this weakling speak against her rule when in fact she is already being generous despite having her pride shattered for resorting to a lowly human like him! After all, Mike is not supposed to be getting anything from the Hex, she just wants to keep her good image and hide her greedy side to her soldiers and now this?!

She closed her eyes for a minute and hid her short temper. She would not be triggered by this lowest of the lowest, not now!

"Fine, but I'll have to strip your pay to 20,000 pesos. It is against the Hunter code for a weak Player to have a salary of more than 20,000 pesos when he or she is going to have a share of the loot."

Mike sighs and thinks for a minute before speaking again, "Deal," a smile plastered on his face.

The Saintess seriously nodded and declared to the White Knights, "We must be careful as we are going to raid a Black Hex, gates like this are normally prohibited from even a high ranking raid party like us, it's just that our guildmaster is a powerful individual within the organization. We should not fail him!"

"Yes, Saintess!"

Finally, they entered the Black Hex. While the soldiers are enthusiastic, Mike Sandoval is full of sadness as his payment for this raid was lowered by 30,000. He badly needed the money for his sister who was infected by a deadly virus that slowly eats her life. The only thing that kept her alive up until now are the potions which were made by the Alchemists that cost more than his salaries per bottle. The share that he is gonna be getting from this raid be better enough to sustain his sister's life for another day.

Just another day…

"Guard the flank, the kapres are surrounding us!"

The saintess commanded the soldiers to stay close together as she is about to unleash her divine magic spell.

As the beasts were surrounding them from all sides, white dust began to accumulate within the surroundings then the Saintess shouted.

"Heavenly Casting, 3rd circle…"

The dust which was not so visible in the naked eye before began to form into white orbs that are brimming with mana. An unanticipated flash enveloped the hunters and their surrounding area.

"Ophanim!"

The orbs formulated into circular mana blades that fired endlessly at the creatures.

This is the power of the class "Saintess", she could manipulate divine energy into any form without limitation as long as she has enough mana.

The circular blades continues to slash the monsters that are coming their way. But just like the blades, the monsters also did not falter but instead became more violent. They started thrashing themselves towards the defenses of the party, causing the group to start having casualties.

Although the Saintess is a powerful hunter, her abilities are not infinite. Once her mana went down, she would not be able to cast multiple spells at the same time, making her as good as a normal civilian.

This is the worst possible scenario for a raiding party. This is not part of the Saintess' plan of a quick sweep. They anticipated a hoard of monsters but never as large as what they are facing right now, affecting their supply limitations.

"Damn it! How did everything went against my plan?!"

But at the critical moment, Vincent, renowned for his Mana detection skill and one of her most powerful Templars, reported to her that they found a short-cut towards the what could be a boss dungeon.

"It is in the direction of the East!"
