Chapter 34: Medical Ninjutsu
Medical Ninjutsu!
As the saying goes, medicine and martial arts are not separate paths. To truly understand the human body, one must create a more efficient training method tailored to themselves—maximizing the power of their abilities.
"You must have a deep understanding of the human body!" Kakashi's advice rang in Yuma's ears.
"Good advice, Kakashi. But now I need to ask Lin a few questions," Yuma said, his mind already racing.
Yuma walked over to Nohara Rin, who was busy with her medical ninjutsu training outside the training grounds.
When Rin saw Yuma approaching, she looked at him with curiosity. "Yuma-kun, is something wrong?"
Yuma, suddenly more serious, grabbed Rin's hand, his voice solemn.
"Rin-chan, I have a request!"
"Eh?! Y... Yuma-kun, please, go ahead," Rin stammered, startled by Yuma's sudden intensity.
Rin felt her heart race. Yuma, usually so calm, was now acting with such gravity. What could he possibly want from her? She blushed, her mind racing with various thoughts.
"Please, Rin-chan, teach me medical ninjutsu!" Yuma said earnestly, bowing deeply to her.
Rin, surprised, hurriedly helped Yuma back up. "No, it's no problem, Yuma-kun! I'll teach you seriously!"
Yuma's request left Rin flustered. She hadn't expected him to ask for something so serious.
Rin had always known that medical ninjutsu was tough to learn, even for the most talented. Every technique in the field is typically ranked B or higher, requiring extraordinary chakra control. Rin herself was a medical genius, and she knew firsthand how hard it could be.
Still, she had witnessed something extraordinary—Yuma had already learned Medical Jutsu in just one morning. She had seen him restore a fish to life with it, and now, her mind was racing. Could it be that Yuma truly was a genius?
Rin was so stunned that she couldn't find words. Her amazement only deepened as she thought about the difficulty of medical ninjutsu.
Obito and Kakashi, who had been observing from the sidelines, were equally shocked.
"Kakashi... wasn't medical ninjutsu recorded as one of the hardest to learn?" Obito asked.
"You're right... Obito. The difficulty of learning medical ninjutsu is why there are so few medical ninjas in the world," Kakashi replied.
Obito, unsure of what to think, grew suspicious. "Then why did Yuma learn Medical Jutsu so quickly? Is he really that much of a genius?"
Kakashi, on the other hand, felt a bit ashamed. As a child raised in the shadow of his father's legacy, he'd always been praised for his natural abilities. But here was Yuma, learning things with such ease that it made Kakashi question his own efforts. He'd never seen someone so dedicated to their growth, especially someone so young.
Kakashi realized that Yuma wasn't just a genius by bloodline—he was working hard to improve himself in every way. Yuma was not content with just being gifted; he aimed to master taijutsu and medical ninjutsu, too.
Kakashi, feeling a sense of determination, promised, "I'll catch up with you soon!"
At that moment, Yuma finished using Medical Jutsu and put the revived fish aside. Kakashi, still surprised by the sudden burst of motivation, didn't know what to make of it. But he understood that Yuma's progress was not due to pure talent—it was the result of his entry ability, "Medical Genius," allowing him to learn medical ninjutsu faster than anyone else.
Yuma continued, "I may have learned the techniques quickly, but I still have a lot to learn. Mastering a technique just shows that I can grasp it fast. But curing diseases and saving lives is a whole different challenge."
Just then, a voice interrupted. "That's right... kid! You're not arrogant, but you still have a long way to go."
The four of them turned to see Namikaze Minato arriving with the Sannin.
Minato smiled. "I ran into Jiraiya and decided to bring him along. Tsunade insisted on coming too."
Without waiting for further words, Tsunade stepped forward, her eyes sharp. "Enough talk, kid. Show me how you used that Medical Jutsu you just performed!"
Tsunade had been impressed by Yuma's use of Medical Jutsu earlier and now, after seeing it from a distance, she was eager to see it up close. What exactly was going on with this young Uchiha?
