Hokage Teacher: With Dimensional Teacter System

Chapter 24: Chapter 25: Potential Needs to Be Properly Stimulated

On Saturday morning, the trio of Obito, Shisui, and the others began their training according to Mu Yue's instructions.

Obito started by practicing the basic taijutsu techniques under Mu Yue's guidance. After an hour, Mu Yue allowed Obito to rest, handing him a bottle of water and wiping off his sweat.

Obito suddenly felt something was off. Although Mu Yue was a good teacher, it wasn't normal for him to be this considerate. Giving water was one thing, but wiping sweat was something teachers usually wouldn't do, maybe just offering a towel at most.

"Obito, I believe you still have a lot of untapped potential," Mu Yue said with a smile, capping the bottle of water that Obito hadn't finished and placing it on the ground.

"No, no, no! I believe my potential has already been fully unlocked by you, teacher," Obito said, feeling his forehead, freshly wiped of sweat, begin to sweat cold.

"You're underestimating yourself," Mu Yue shook his head.

"How about this? During your fight with Kai, if you get hit once, you'll have to do an extra question during the rest period. That should completely bring out your potential. Even if that doesn't work, at least your theoretical performance will improve from all the extra questions."

"Teacher, that's not a good idea. What if I get hit hundreds of times? I don't mind doing the questions, but I'm worried you'll tire from writing them all out," Obito said, trying to show he was thinking of Mu Yue's well-being.

Obito had no choice but to come up with this idea quickly. Given a choice between doing extra questions and fighting with Kai, he'd rather take the latter.

"I'm glad you're worried about me, Obito," Mu Yue said, wearing a grateful expression.

Just as Obito thought he might escape the extra questions, Mu Yue's words took a turn.

"I knew you were a considerate kid, so I've already prepared a stack of questions for you. You don't need to worry about running out of them," Mu Yue said with a smile, pulling out a stack of papers, indicating that there would be plenty of questions.

"If this isn't enough, I can have my shadow clones write some more," Mu Yue asked with a grin.

"That's enough! Enough!" Obito began shaking his head frantically. The pile of questions Mu Yue held seemed almost insurmountable.

Despite the blazing sun, Obito felt a chill running up his spine, as though the warmth of the day had nothing to do with his growing dread.

Not able to avoid the extra questions, Obito decided to take a different approach. Since he couldn't escape them, he'd just try to minimize the amount he'd have to do.

He immediately gave Kai a subtle signal, hoping he would ease up on the intensity.

Kai, seeing the signal, flashed a bright, toothy smile and gave Obito a thumbs up, indicating he was ready to fight.

"As for Kai, if you don't land a single hit, you'll have to do fifty questions. Every time you land a hit, you'll reduce that number by one, but the maximum reduction is forty," Mu Yue continued.

Kai's expression changed suddenly, becoming serious, and he gave Obito a thumbs up in return.

"Go all out? I don't know about this," Obito groaned, clasping his head with both hands, already dreading the inevitable flood of questions coming his way.

"To maintain our youthful spirit, we must reduce the questions to a minimum!" Kai's eyes were now filled with fiery determination.

Obito didn't want to do the questions either, but he had no choice.

The battle that followed saw Kai unleash a full-powered assault, attacking Obito with 120% of his speed, chasing him relentlessly.

Unwilling to face the pile of questions, Obito was forced to unleash his own hidden potential. After being hit multiple times, his movements became much quicker.

Mu Yue watched with satisfaction as both of them showed great improvement. With a nod, he thought, There's still much more potential to be unlocked.

After they had exhausted themselves, the battle came to an end.

Obito had been hit over thirty times, which meant he had to complete more than thirty questions, while Kai only had to do a handful.

Mu Yue was pleased with the results. At this rate, with continued training, it wouldn't take two months before Hinata Homura would no longer be a match for them.

"It's a pity… Rin's talent isn't as great. If I had taken her on as a disciple, it would have been easier to push Obito," Mu Yue mused.

For the sake of maintaining a low profile, he wasn't particularly eager to train anyone who wasn't his disciple.

There was actually a better candidate—Kakashi.

Rin might only be able to motivate Obito, but if Kakashi were there as well, both Obito and Kai could be motivated at the same time.

Kakashi certainly had the talent, but unfortunately, he wasn't likely to become his student since Kakashi had already been promoted to Chuunin two years ago.

Mu Yue stayed with them until noon, joining them for lunch, and then he left two shadow clones behind before heading to the Third Hokage's residence to begin his tutoring duties.

Perhaps because he was still at work, Mu Yue didn't see Sarutobi Hiruzen himself but instead encountered a middle-aged woman with a single ponytail, Sarutobi Hiruzen's wife, Sarutobi Pipa.

"Lady Pipa," Mu Yue greeted her.

"You must be the teacher, Yusheng Mu Yue, that Hiruzen mentioned," Sarutobi Pipa said, recalling Hiruzen's description of Mu Yue and then asking.

Mu Yue nodded in acknowledgment.

"Asuma is waiting for you in the backyard," Sarutobi Pipa directed. "But I must warn you, Asuma is a bit rebellious. Please be patient with him. If he truly becomes unmanageable, just let me know."

"I will. I have some special techniques to deal with rebellious students," Mu Yue said with a smile, then followed the directions to the backyard.

Upon arriving at the backyard, Mu Yue saw a boy of about nine years old, lazily leaning against a tree with a blade of grass in his mouth, exuding an attitude of indifference.

Mu Yue assessed him with a skill check.

Name: Asuma Sarutobi

Chakra: 1100

Potential: A+

Noticing Mu Yue's arrival, Asuma spat out the grass, but instead of standing up, he directly asked,

"Are you the Yusheng Mu Yue who's going to tutor me?"

Before Mu Yue could answer, Asuma quickly continued,

"Let me be clear, if you can't help me surpass my father, the Third Hokage, then you can leave. I'm not interested."

Asuma thought he'd give the tutor a challenge and take control of the situation.

Just as he was waiting for Mu Yue's reaction, Mu Yue shook his head and said,

"Of course, I cannot."

"Then leave," Asuma waved dismissively, returning to his reclining position.

He didn't believe Mu Yue would just leave.

"Alright, I'm leaving. I'll let Pipa know that you don't need a tutor," Mu Yue said as he turned to walk away.

Seeing Mu Yue actually walk away, Asuma's mind raced. What's going on? Isn't he supposed to try and persuade me or something? Why is he just leaving?

"Hey, hey, wait! Don't go!" Asuma shot up, calling out to stop Mu Yue.

It seemed that the teacher hadn't even started yet and was already walking out. Asuma knew he'd surely be scolded by his mother.
