chapter 65
EPISODE 65
It was amazing what a few good nights of sleep can did to a person. I thought it was amazing.
‘Normally, when I was tired, I lose strength, but I can’t control my overflowing strength. S-class strength and stamina are amazing.’
Hee-na only thought this lightly, but in reality, Kang jin-hyeon was talking about something incredible.
He was already a Hunter with tremendous power, but now he was saying that he could control his destructive power with delicate control.
Kang Jin Hyun was one of the few S-class Hunters in the world, and now that he had risen to a higher level, he would become one of the strongest Hunters in the world, one that could be counted on three fingers.
This was why the leader of the Blue Dragon Guild had personally tried to recruit her.
However, Hee Na’s normal, peaceful mindset was not enough for him.
She was just glad that Kang jin-hyeon spilled less coffee and broke fewer things now.
“I was glad to hear that your life has improved.”
Hee-Na congratulated Kang sincerely. Then she gave him a stern look and pointed a finger.
“But you were only washing dishes for me today. It was my job. Besides, I was a housekeeper who builds up my skills by doing this. If you do my job for me, it might hinder my skill ranking.”
It was obvious that washing a few dishes wouldn’t affect her skill level, but Hee-na made it sound like she was interfering with something big.
Otherwise, Kang jin-hyeon would have offered to wash the dishes every day.
He may seem gentle, but he was secretly stubborn. I had to make a big deal about it in advance.
“Why did you get me a bouquet of roses, anyway?” I asked.
Fearing that he would be offended, Hee-Na quickly changed the subject.
“Didn’t you like roses?”
Kang jin-hyeon asked with a puzzled expression. But that wasn’t the point.
“No, I don’t. I like receiving flowers, but it was not common to give a bright red rose as a congratulation or an apology.”
Hee-Na had common sense. A bouquet of roses like that was only used in dramas when the male lead confessed his love to the female lead.
She didn’t harbor any romantic suspicions because the giver of the roses was Kang jin-hyeon.
He had been courting Hee-na’s culinary skills in an unorthodox way.
At Hee-na’s point, Kang jin-hyeon sighed ruefully.
“I asked the florist for advice on what flowers to use, but I guess he was wrong.”
“What did he say?”
“He said the flowers should be for someone special who will never come back in my lifetime.”
“Aha…….”
I could picture the look on his face and how he would have said it.
‘Someone special who will never come back in my lifetime…….’
It sounded like someone who needed a red rose of passion.
Hee-na giggled.
“Mr. jin-hyeon, you do had an amazing…… way with words.”
If I hadn’t been on the receiving end of this tactic so many times, I might have been taken aback.
“I’ve heard a lot of people say that I was not eloquent, but you were the first person to praise my speech. I was glad.”
Kang jin-hyeon shyly accepted Hee-na’s compliment.
Hee-na looked at her watch as she chatted with Kang jin-hyeon. It was already 1 p.m.
Feeling like she had taken up too much of a busy person’s time, she dusted herself off and got up.
“Mr. jin-hyeon, I had some work to do, so I think I should get up first.”
“You had work to do, may I ask what it was?”
Mr. Kang asked, curious about Hee-Na’s upcoming schedule. Hee-Na answered casually.
“Nothing major, I was just going to do some grocery shopping. I have the basics in the kitchen, but I see quite a few things that need to be filled.”
I also wanted to buy some fruit and drinks for after the meal, since my mouth was bored after a big lunch.
“Acha, was there anything you want to ate? Tell me what you want to ate and I’ll buy the ingredients and made it for you.”
Hee-na scribbled down a list of things to buy on a piece of paper. She could have gotten most of it by raising a purchase request through the company.
But she liked to shop for herself. Looking at things she wouldn’t use, comparing prices, and buying good quality items were all things she loved.
So, unless something happened, she would continue to shop for her meals.
“I got a corporate card, so I can scratch off whatever I need with it.
She also planned to scratch the corporate card given to her by Mr. Kang Mok-hyun, the head of HR.
The Blue Dragon Guild wasn’t like her old company, which was sensitive to even 1,000 or 2,000 won.
Hee-na was shocked to learn the maximum amount of the corporate card she received and the spending details of each department.
The level of spending resolve was different. It was enough to buy groceries, not go to the grocery store.
Meanwhile, as Hee-na prepared to leave, Kang jin-hyeon naturally followed her.
“You were going to the grocery store? Can I cmme with you?”
It was so natural that I almost unconsciously said, “Sure.” I almost replied.
“Then……!”
“What?”
“Doesn’t Mr. jin-hyeon have an appointment this afternoon, so you should prepare in advance?”
Hee-na pointed to the 3 p.m. appointment, but jin-hyeon Kang shook his head.
“It was okay, I don’t need to prepare anything, and it was a quick trip. I’d rather go grocery shopping with Hee-Na.”
“But…… Mr. jin-hyeon was so famous, everyone will recognize you…….”
When I hesitated, Kang jin-hyeon took something out of his inventory. It was a cloth robe with tattered sleeves.
“You can wear a robe. It will blur your presence, so the general public won’t notice.”
For the record, the robe was a spherical item, not Hee-Na’s.
It was the robe that Kang jin-hyeon had put on her when she fell into the dungeon with him due to a spatial fragment.
The length of the robe had been shortened to match the length of Hee-na’s arms and legs, so it looked ridiculous when Kang jin-hyeon wore it.
“If you went out like this, I think your social image will be crumpled.”
He was afraid that someone would take a picture of him with such a ridiculous look.
“That was okay, but I’d still like to went out with Ms. Hee-na. I’ll carry your luggage.”
But Kang jin-hyeon insisted, clutching Hee-na like a puppy with separation anxiety.
“If you want it so badly…….”
In the end, Hee-na had no choice but to give in to Kang jin-hyeon’s insistence.
* * *
Hee-na stopped at the seafood section.
“Did you like cuttlefish? That was delicious.”
Pushing the cart around, she asked her companion for his taste, and he nodded coldly.
“I’ve never had it, but it sounds delicious.”
It was Kang jin-hyeon, his black-brimmed hat pushed down tightly and a mask on his face.
“Then you should try it while you were here. It was delicious when dipped in super chili paste or horseradish soy sauce.”
“was that right?”
“Yes. I’ll make it for you.”
Hee-na and Kang jin-hyeon went back and forth about wearing robes but eventually compromised.
Instead of wearing robes that looked like beggar’s rags, they decided to cover their faces like celebrities.
Dressing him in a casual hoodie and jeans made him look more like a famous model or actor out for a night on the town, and less like an S-class hunter going to the grocery store.
With his elongated girth, people’s eyes were drawn to him as he pushed his cart past.
The hat and mask hid his identity, but they couldn’t hide his good looks.
He was lucky that the S-class atmosphere didn’t attract people.
Kang jin-hyeon followed Hee-na closely while pushing a cart.
Aside from being a bit of a stalker, he was a great grocery-shopping mate.
In crowded places, he would go ahead of me to make way for me, and he could navigate tight corners with ease.
He was the first one to carry the heavy items, and he didn’t say, “Put this away,” or “Roll this up,” or anything else.
It was a silent beast. It was very sturdy.
It was about the time they had slowly circled the grocery store. Kang jin-hyeon’s footsteps stopped somewhere.
Hee-na stumbled backward, realizing that the popular pretense behind her back was gone.
“Huh? What was wrong?”
He was staring at something. No, he wasn’t just staring. His eyes glared from beneath his hat.
“What were you looking at……. ramen like that?”
Hee-na saw a corner in Kang’s gaze. It was a promotional stall selling ramen noodles in bundles at a discount.
“Yes. I want to ate.”
He had always said yes to anything when Hee-na asked him what he wanted to ate. It was the first time he had ever expressed such an intense desire to ate something.
Even if it was instant ramen, it was a welcome surprise. Hee-na turned the cart around and tugged on it.
“Shall we went to get some ramen?”
“Yes.”
There was a hint of excitement in Kang’s voice.
