In the final stage of the "Bloodborne Curse," players will face a choice of three possible endings, and all choices must be made in front of the "First Hunter Germain."

After meeting certain conditions, in one of the endings, players must fight against the boss commonly referred to as the "Moon Presence." After defeating the boss, they must pay a price and enter a new cycle.

Whether this counts as "victory" has always been a matter of debate.

If this is the case, Germain understood. This is a subtle hint.
