I accidentally Married the Leader of the Noble Path

Chapter 26 - Don’t take it seriously

“Cough, cough. We weren’t doing anything, just happened to pass by and found this herb field intriguing, so we came in to take a look.”

“If we’re disturbing you, we’ll leave right away,” He Qing added.

His two subordinates quickly chimed in agreement.

The three turned to leave but were stopped by Qin Nan’s cold voice.

“Hmph, come and go as you please? Not so easy. You’re here to sabotage my herb field, aren’t you? Seeking revenge?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. We were just passing by. Your herb field is perfectly fine, isn’t it? Don’t try to pin this on us,” He Qing said confidently.

“If I’d arrived a bit later, would this herb field still be fine? He Qing, oh He Qing, you’re really foolish. Even if you wanted revenge, at least wait until you’ve paid twenty silver coins first. Otherwise, once the field is destroyed, you’ll be the prime suspect,” Qin Nan said mockingly.

“You’re right… Why didn’t I think of that… I mean, I was just talking nonsense. Don’t take it seriously!” He Qing quickly changed his tone.

“Too late. I’m taking it seriously, and now I’m going to teach you a lesson, you petty villain. You dare to destroy my herb field? Courting death!” Qin Nan said coldly.

“Qin Nan, don’t push us too far! We haven’t done anything, and you want to make a move on us?” He Qing yelled angrily.

He Qing, being the village bully, had a fiery temper. Even knowing he wasn’t a match for Qin Nan, he wasn’t afraid.

His two subordinates grabbed the hoes they had prepared earlier, feeling more confident with weapons in hand.

“Leave it to me, hubby,” said Shangguan Rouyue.

“Get lost, you stinking woman!” He Qing sneered arrogantly.

Shangguan Rouyue sneered back. Without lifting a finger, an immense force pressed down on the three men, pinning them to the ground. Their mouths filled with dirt as they struggled in vain, even sustaining internal injuries.

Only then did the three remember—Shangguan Rouyue was a powerful cultivator, someone they couldn’t afford to provoke.

They’d hit a steel wall this time.

Qin Nan strolled over, looking down at them with a smirk.

“I was wrong! Just let us go, and I’ll bring you twenty silver coins tomorrow!” He Qing pleaded.

“Do you think twenty silver coins can solve the problem now? You wanted to destroy my herb field, something I worked so hard to cultivate,” Qin Nan said.

“But the field isn’t destroyed…” He Qing muttered.

“That’s only because you didn’t have time to act,” Qin Nan replied, stomping on He Qing’s head, forcing him to taste the dirt.

The two subordinates were terrified and begged for mercy.

Qin Nan ignored them. He knew these types would forget their lesson without a deep, unforgettable punishment.

He grabbed a thick wooden club from somewhere and broke each of their legs with a single strike, their screams echoing like ghosts wailing.

Afterward, Qin Nan dragged them into the house, treated their injuries, and bandaged them up. He even gave each of them four large packs of medicinal herbs.

“Don’t worry. As long as you take the medicine properly, you’ll be able to walk again in a month without permanent disability,” Qin Nan assured them.

Hearing this, the three breathed a sigh of relief. Their greatest fear had been becoming crippled for life.

“Oh, by the way, the cost of the medicine is one gold coin per person. You’d better pay up quickly, or I’ll start charging interest,” Qin Nan added with a smile.

“…” The three were speechless, almost in tears—especially the subordinate who had opposed the plan to destroy the herb field. His luck couldn’t have been worse.

“Now, scram,” Qin Nan ordered.

Supporting each other, the three limped away.

After closing the door, Qin Nan and his wife returned to bed.

“Honestly, just as we were getting started, they had to come and ruin the mood. Breaking one leg each was already merciful,” Qin Nan grumbled.

“Hubby, you should focus more on your cultivation,” Shangguan Rouyue said shyly.

“Isn’t this a form of cultivation too?” Qin Nan replied with a mischievous grin.

Shangguan Rouyue’s face turned even redder.

Despite being a married couple, she still blushed like a maiden. Qin Nan found it utterly endearing—every night felt like being a newlywed, and it filled him with pride.

The rooster next door crowed loudly, signaling the start of a new day.

Both Qin Nan and Shangguan Rouyue woke up almost simultaneously.

Qin Nan sat up straight, stretching with satisfaction as his joints emitted crisp popping sounds. Strangely enough, his body felt increasingly energized and vigorous.

People often said that indulging in certain activities too often would drain one’s vitality and leave them weak. Yet, despite sharing countless nights of passion with Shangguan Rouyue, Qin Nan never felt drained. On the contrary, he felt brimming with energy, his cultivation even progressing more smoothly than before.

“Maybe it’s because of my physique,” Shangguan Rouyue said.

“What kind of physique do you have?” Qin Nan asked curiously. Although he had always suspected that his wife’s constitution was extraordinary, he had never thought much about it. Her incredible cultivation at such a young age was already proof enough of her remarkable talent and unique physique.

“The Supreme Mysterious Pure Yin Body,” Shangguan Rouyue answered.

“The… what? Supreme Mysterious Pure Yin Body?” Qin Nan was stunned.

“You’ve heard of it?” Shangguan Rouyue asked, tilting her head in slight suspicion.

“I haven’t!” Qin Nan quickly denied. “It just sounds really impressive, so I was surprised.”

In truth, Qin Nan knew all too well what this physique entailed. The Supreme Mysterious Pure Yin Body was one of the rarest and most powerful constitutions in the cultivation world. Those blessed with it were destined to become legendary figures—assuming they survived their early years.

He never imagined that his wife would possess such a supreme physique.

Moreover, there was another reason why men envied this body—it provided extraordinary benefits during intimate moments. Not only would it not drain a man’s energy, but it could even enhance his vitality and cultivation.

Qin Nan silently mused to himself. No wonder he felt invigorated every day despite their nightly activities. It was all thanks to his wife’s miraculous physique.

Suddenly, an idea sparked in his mind. If this was the effect without dual cultivation techniques, how much better would it be if they actually practiced such techniques together? His thoughts veered into wicked territory as he decided he had to find an opportunity to introduce dual cultivation into their lives.

However, he knew Shangguan Rouyue would undoubtedly notice the change and question where he had learned such techniques. He’d need a solid explanation.

As for Qin Nan’s own physique, it was the most basic mortal type, with below-average attributes. Compared to Shangguan Rouyue’s Supreme Mysterious Pure Yin Body or Yang Xiaoqi’sIce Spirit Mystique Physique, his natural constitution was leagues behind.

Still, Qin Nan didn’t let this disparity discourage him. He believed that once he mastered his demonic cultivation techniques, his body would transform. Even obtaining a supreme physique wouldn’t be an unattainable dream.

By now, the two had risen from bed.

Without needing to be asked, Shangguan Rouyue prepared a basin of warm water. She returned moments later, soaking a cloth, wringing it out, and gently wiping Qin Nan’s face. Her movements were tender and meticulous.

After finishing his face, she continued to clean his body, wiping away the sweat from the previous night. Her caring actions exuded the air of a gentle, devoted wife.

Once she had finished tending to him, she hesitated before speaking. “Hubby, could you step outside for a moment?”

“Why?” Qin Nan asked, feigning ignorance.

“I need to clean myself,” Shangguan Rouyue said.

“Do you need help with that?” Qin Nan teased.

“No, I can manage on my own. Just step outside,” Shangguan Rouyue insisted.

“I won’t get in your way if I stay here. Why do I have to leave?”

Shangguan Rouyue’s face flushed an even deeper shade of red. She glared at Qin Nan, realizing he was being deliberately difficult. Her husband was growing increasingly shameless with each passing day, yet she found herself helpless against his mischievousness.
