I accidentally Married the Leader of the Noble Path

Chapter 27 - Cultivation spot

Afterward, Qin Nan headed to the backyard and began meditating near the medicinal field.

To make it more convenient for her husband to cultivate, Shangguan Rouyue had specially created a small area beside the medicinal field, turning it into a focal point of the feng shui treasure land and a hub for Qi energy.

With some mysterious arrangements, the place became an excellent cultivation spot. Though it couldn’t compare to the training grounds of major sects, it was still more than sufficient—better than average, if not the best.

Qin Nan started with basic breathing exercises, then discreetly channeled his demonic cultivation technique, focusing on low-key growth.

When Shangguan Rouyue appeared, Qin Nan immediately ceased practicing the demonic technique.

She sat down cross-legged in front of him and began cultivating.

Like a vortex, her powerful energy attracted Qi energy from all over the valley to converge at their location.

Qin Nan felt his cultivation progress become even smoother, as if a fish returning to water. He knew this was entirely thanks to his wife’s support.

Being a Supreme Mysterious Pure Yin Body, Shangguan Rouyue shared an exceptional compatibility with Qin Nan due to their intimate relationship.

Whenever she cultivated near him, the abundant Qil energy she drew would naturally benefit Qin Nan as well, accelerating his progress.

Though it resembled dual cultivation, it wasn’t the same, as it offered no benefits to Shangguan Rouyue.

Given Qin Nan’s current level, he couldn’t possibly assist her cultivation—there was simply too great a gap between them.

Immersed in their practice, they lost track of time until midday, when noise from the front courtyard broke their concentration.

Both stopped cultivating simultaneously.

Irritated by the disturbance, Qin Nan frowned, but he still ended his meditation and stood up, heading into the house.

Walking through the main hall, he arrived at the front yard, only to be met by an aggressive crowd.

The small courtyard was nearly bursting with people.

Among them were He Qing and his two lackeys, being supported by others. They were in terrible shape, bandaged all over and covered in medicated plasters.

Their pitiful state was far worse than the mere broken legs Qin Nan had inflicted the previous night.

Qin Nan narrowed his eyes, immediately understanding what was happening—this was a staged performance, a deliberate attempt to provoke him.

His gaze shifted to the middle-aged man leading the group.

The man, around forty years old, was tall and thin with upturned eyebrows and an arrogant demeanor, exuding a sense of superiority.

This was He Shijian, one of the most respected figures in NiuJiao Village because he was a physician.

Before Qin Nan rose to fame as the “Little Miracle Doctor,” He Shijian had been the village’s sole medical practitioner. Although his skills were mediocre, villagers had no choice but to rely on him for common ailments.

As a result, He Shijian enjoyed considerable prestige, and most villagers deferred to him.

However, his prideful attitude and tendency to exploit his position made him unlikeable.

Since Qin Nan’s emergence as a superior healer with affordable rates and a humble demeanor, He Shijian’s influence had waned significantly.

The man’s pride wouldn’t allow him to admit it, but Qin Nan could tell He Shijian resented him deeply.

He Qing, the village bully, was none other than He Shijian’s son.

It was precisely because of his father’s backing that He Qing had been able to act arrogantly in the village for so long without being dealt with.

If not for the villagers’ reliance on He Shijian for medical care, He Qing’s misdeeds would’ve long been met with collective retribution.

But times had changed.

“What brings such a large crowd to my humble home?” Qin Nan asked indifferently.

“Are you seriously asking that after beating my son and his friends like this? Don’t you think you owe us an explanation?” He Shijian demanded.

“They tried to destroy my medicinal field, so I taught them a lesson. Seems fair to me,” Qin Nan replied..

“Don’t try to fool anyone. Your field is perfectly intact—we checked it ourselves,” He Shijian retorted.

“And why would I have attacked them otherwise? By the way, I only broke their legs and tended to their wounds afterward. These other injuries? Not my doing.”

“Still trying to shirk responsibility? My son won’t suffer in vain. You must give us a proper explanation!” He Shijian insisted.

“And what exactly would satisfy you?” Qin Nan asked, already aware that this was just a ploy to stir trouble.

“Considering your youth, we’ll let it slide this time if you compensate each of them with two gold coins for medical expenses and promise to stop practicing medicine. Someone as malicious as you shouldn’t be treating others—you’ll only end up harming them. I’m doing this for the villagers’ sake,” He Shijian declared sanctimoniously.

Qin Nan chuckled coldly, finally understanding the man’s true motive: to drive him out of practice.

“For the villagers’ sake or your own? You know the answer. Talking here is pointless. Let’s take this to the village square and let everyone decide.”

With that, Qin Nan began walking toward the courtyard gate.

But the gate was blocked by He Shijian’s men, making it clear they wouldn’t let him leave so easily.

“Don’t let him go!” He Shijian barked.

“Who dares stop my husband?” Shangguan Rouyue’s icy voice rang out.

The villagers trying to block Qin Nan suddenly found themselves immobilized, as if an invisible force held them in place.

Moments later, they were pushed back uncontrollably, many falling to the ground.

Such weaklings, and yet they dare to cause trouble here?

Shangguan Rouyue’s face was filled with disdain.

Even He Shijian, who had been standing at the forefront, ended up face-planting into the dirt.

Taking advantage of the situation, Qin Nan calmly stepped on He Shijian’s back as he walked out, eliciting a furious glare from the latter.

But fury was all He Shijian could muster.

He thought that by rallying so many villagers, he could give Qin Nan a good beating, but who knew it would turn out like this?

Before the cultivators, they were no match at all.

He Shijian now realized just how vast the difference between ordinary people and cultivators was.

The cultivator didn’t even lift a finger, and they all collapsed, bowing and surrendering. If the cultivator wanted to kill him, wouldn’t it just be a matter of a simple gesture?

He Shijian couldn’t help but feel a wave of fear.

But this fear quickly faded as he remembered his still considerable influence in NiuJiao Village, despite the drop in his reputation.

As long as Qin Nan and Shangguan Rouyue wanted to stay in the village, they couldn’t harm him.

After suppressing his own discomfort, He Shijian stood up again and followed Qin Nan.

He was curious to see what kind of tricks Qin Nan had up his sleeve.

He Qing and the other two, supported by others, also followed.

In the center of the village was a patch of barren land with a row of simple stone benches. Whenever there was a major event in NiuJiao Village and a gathering was needed, it would be held there.

As Qin Nan and his group made their way to the village center, the other villagers noticed and gathered around.

More and more villagers joined the crowd.

The village chief also appeared, surrounded by more than ten villagers.

Among them, Yang Xiaoqi’s petite figure could also be seen.
