I Just Want A Single Ending!

After what seemed like hours of trying on clothes, Saku Kamigawa was finally freed from Ikuyo Kita's fashion spree.

Of course, this wasn't because she was ready to stop—it was simply because she'd exhausted the options at this store and found nothing else she liked.

After paying a little extra for the store to deliver the clothes she'd bought to his place, Saku left the shop with Ikuyo.

"Sorry about that. I might have gone a bit overboard."

Ikuyo had finally come down from her dressing-up excitement, and she apologized for it.

"It's fine."

Saku truly didn't mind.

After a brief pause, Ikuyo brightened up and suggested, "Hey, how about you try it too?"

"Try what?"

Saku was a bit puzzled.

"You know, like earlier—just as I picked out clothes for you, why don't you pick something for me to try on?"

After making him try on so many outfits, it was only fair to reciprocate.

Looking at the system prompt, Saku thought it over for a moment before making his decision.

Ikuyo glanced down at her own outfit, feeling a bit flattered.

A sky-blue dress…

Come to think of it, Saku had mentioned that blue was one of his favorite colors back in the day, right?

Even though he didn't favor it as much anymore, it still held some appeal for him.

Curious, she asked, "Saku-senpai, do you prefer seeing girls in skirts?"

"Honestly, I don't have much of a preference," Saku replied casually. "People always say that as long as you're good-looking, anything you wear looks great."

"So, can I take that as you saying I'm good-looking?" Ikuyo asked, a little smirk playing on her lips.

After all, he'd complimented her outfit, then mentioned that good-looking people looked good in anything. That basically translated to calling her attractive, didn't it?

"I'm just stating a fact. I wouldn't call that a compliment."

Ikuyo Kita was, in fact, a bonafide beauty, no need for extra words.

"Hehe…"

Ikuyo's cheeks flushed slightly, a pink tint dusting her smile.

Checking his phone, Saku quickly changed the subject. "So, are we still up for more shopping?"

"No, I think we've shopped enough for today."

It had been more of a photo session than actual shopping, really.

"Alright, so should we head to the arcade next?" Saku asked, recalling her original plan. "Or should we go straight to the couple's restaurant?"

"Saku-senpai, are you hungry?"

Ikuyo wanted to decide based on his answer.

"Not yet."

Saku shook his head.

"Then let's hit the arcade!"

"Sounds good."

At the arcade, Saku looked around at the rows of game machines, then turned to her. "What should we play first?"

"The claw machine, of course!"

With that, Ikuyo pulled out her wallet and handed him a small stack of 100-yen coins.

"Alright, Saku-senpai! Helping your girlfriend win a plushie at the claw machine is a must for any couple!"

"True enough."

Glancing down at the coins, Saku nodded.

Scenes like this were classics in novels, anime, and even galgames. He never expected he'd get to experience it in real life.

Standing by the claw machine, Ikuyo pointed to a blue dolphin plush and said, "I want that one. Could you get it for me, Saku-senpai?"

"Just to check—do you actually like that plush?"

Saku asked for confirmation.

"Of course."

Ikuyo nodded enthusiastically.

"In that case, I'll go ask the staff if I can just buy it directly."

With that, Saku started looking around for an attendant.

"Wait, wait! Aren't you at least going to try to win it?" Ikuyo hadn't expected him to take such a practical route.

"Honestly, I've never played a claw machine, so I have zero experience. It's pretty unlikely I'd get it with just a few coins," Saku admitted. "If I end up spending a bunch without winning it, wouldn't it be better to buy it outright?"

He knew the ins and outs of claw machines—the way the owners controlled the claw's strength was no secret.

Getting the plush you wanted wasn't as easy as it looked.

That's why he'd never bothered with claw machines before.

He knew better than to throw money away.

"I don't mind if you don't win it, really," Ikuyo replied, not fussed at all. "It's the photos that matter. I want pictures of you trying to win it for me!"

This photo set would be called: "Boyfriend Trying Hard to Win a Plushie for Me."

"Alright, I'll give it a shot."

Relenting, Saku dropped a coin into the machine.

At this, Ikuyo readied her phone, snapping away as he began.

…And, Ikuyo had to admit, his side profile did look pretty good.

Ikuyo found herself pressing the shutter button more times than she intended.

Meanwhile, Saku focused on positioning the claw right above the blue dolphin and hit the button.

The claw grabbed onto the plush with surprising firmness and moved it to the drop chute.

When the claw released, the blue dolphin dropped out.

"Huh?"

Picking up the dolphin plush, Saku couldn't hide his surprise at how easy it was.

Could it be that he was a claw machine pro in addition to a galgame master?
