In Another World as a…Bus Driver?

Third person POV

 Meanwhile, in their room, Azalea and John were having a conversation. The room was lightened by gas lamps as night fell outside. "Oh, so you're from a place called Snowyfield Village?" John said to the snow village girl and adventurer.

 "Yes," replied Azalea back, "and my magic is ice."

 "Woah, no wonder you did a little wind attack on Adrian's ex-party."

 "Yup, it was cool, isn't it?"

 "Yes, it was."

 Later on, at 7:22 p.m., the May party is now at the inn's restaurant eating a nice and hot dinner. Their meal consisted of roasted steak, some vegetable Caesar salad, whole wheat bread, and glasses of water. John had some roasted liver on a small plate for dinner. The atmosphere in the restaurant is not as busy as the inn itself.

 "So, what should we do with that dragon?" Russell asked them.

To that, his party thinks about it for a bit.

 "Hmm…we can search for her and try to ask her not to attack the town again," Azalea made a suggestion.

 "Okay, that sounds feasible and possible," Russell replied back with some agreement.

 "But it would not be great if she doesn't budge," Adrian objected.

John then nodded before he resumed eating his meal.

Because of that, Azalea dived back into thinking, and then, she had another suggestion. "What if we could intervene between her and the townspeople? In that way, we can devise a resolution for both sides."

 "Okay, that would be good," Adrian responded as he sipped on his glass of water.

 "But we have to be specific and consider the options on our resolutions," Russell replied with a note.

His party agreed, considering that their resolutions will make or break their efforts of intervening.

 So, the next morning, after a short and light breakfast, all of them checked out of the inn and went out of town and towards the forest north of it to find the dragon and try to talk to her. They had known that she was residing and living in that dense pine forest from the townspeople yesterday. The reason is to find out why the dragon was attacking the town and what she wants from the townspeople. The trek to the forest was a bit long to do on foot, and they had worn their armor and equipment just in case they would get attacked along the way or get attacked by the dragon herself. Adrian was given a metal body armor by Russell since he didn't have his own as a D-ranked adventurer.

 Then, the party started to trek through the forest while remaining vigilant on their surroundings. They are close together to avoid getting separated. But then, a few minutes later, the party encountered a huge red cobra, and it then hissed at them in hostility. In a quick response, the party, except for John, wielded their weapons and magic. But Adrian have a magical ability of his own, which is…

 "Mind Manipulation!" he shouted as his eyes focused on the cobra's mind, controlling it.

He then controlled it to paralyze it in its position.

Hearing that, his party was stunned to see that.

 "Woah…"

 "What was that?"

Looking at them, Adrian said, "Now's your chance!"

Without a second thought, Russell and Azalea wielded their swords and jumped towards the cobra to strike it.

Their joint attacks were successful, and the big cobra was sliced into a few pieces, defeating it.

The two of them then landed back on the ground in action, and after that, Adrian's Mind Manipulation worn off after that.

John, who was sitting nearby the whole time, was astonished at Adrian's ability.

They had defeated the giant cobra in just under a minute, and Russell, Azalea, and John had discovered Adrian's ability, which was called Mind Manipulation.
