Chapter 27: Chapter 27 – A Bargain with the Silver Dragon

Third person POV

After that, Russell and his party leveled up, especially Adrian, who was now at Level 11, and his party was happy for him. But for Adrian's ability, Russell sheathed his sword and turned to Adrian, asking, "Woah, Adrian-kun, what was that ability?" Adrian then looked at him. "That was called Mind Manipulation." Azalea then sheathed her sword and carried John in her arms.

"Mind Manipulation?" Russell raised his eyebrow for a few seconds.

"Yes, that ability allows a user to manipulate the mind of living and sentient beings, like monsters," Adrian replied back.

Russell and his group were amazed and astonished to hear that.

 "Woah…"

 "Amazing…"

 "Yeah…"

Adrian then nodded, before he and his group continued on walking through the forest.

Along the way, Russell asked Adrian if his former party knows about his ability. "They did," Adrian responded back, "but they used that to have some glory for themselves, and I was just used as a tool to achieve fame." Russell and his party were disgusted to hear all that.

 "That was exploitation!"

"These people are way worse than I thought."

 "Bunch of selfish humans…"

"Yes…" Adrian replied as he looked at the ground while walking with them.

"But don't worry," Russell said to him, "we won't do the same thing your ex-party did to you. You have your own potential in your life."

"Yes," Azalea added positively, "don't feel as if you're nothing but a tool for others, okay?"

Hearing that, Adrian felt happier that he will not be treated as a tool by his new party. "Thanks, you guys."

A bit later, they had arrived near the home of the silver dragon that attacked the town yesterday. At this hour, she was sleeping in her slumber, so the May party hid behind some trees to avoid getting detected, before looking at her in observing. "Is that her?" John asked in a low voice.

"Yeah, I think it was her," Russell replied in a low voice.

Then to his party. "Alright, let's approach her slowly and cautiously and wake her up slowly."

His party nodded in agreement, and all of them come out and started approaching the sleeping dragon while trying not to make any noise.

Then, they did so without making a single noise and stood in front of her in a safe distance. And then, Russell took a deep breath and said to the dragon, "Hi there, Ms. Dragon, can we have a word for you?" The silver dragon heard that and opened her eyes, looking at them and waking up from her slumber. The May party raised their guard just in case the dragon would attack them.

"Who dared to disturb my slumber?" she said to them in a deep voice, contrary to her gender as a female.

The party were a bit astonished to hear her voice being more of a manly one instead of a feminine one.

"Um…good morning there," Adrian said to her, "we are here for a reason."

"Oh, then what was that, foolish humans?"

"We are here to ask you why you would attack the town in the south," Russell responded boldly as he pointed his finger towards the direction to Kapeton for a few seconds.

"That town?" the silver dragon replied as she moved a bit in her position. "Ah, the people who abducted my twin girls?"

"Wait, what?" Azalea responded back while being confused by her statement.

"Yes, humans, I had a pair of twin dragon girls. But those humans from that town abducted them. That's why I was angry at them for taking my babies away and attacked their town in a normal basis."

Hearing all that, the May party understood it.

"Okay…" Russell replied back, "…question: who are those girls of yours and what are their names and physical descriptions?"

"Their names are Rai and Ria," replied the silver dragon, "those two had silver, long hair in their human form."

"What??" Adrian responded. "They can transform into humans, too?"

"Yes, human, most dragons can do that, like me."

"Ah, okay then…" Russell replied back.

He then thinks of a solution for a bit, before eventually coming up with one and saying to the silver dragon, "How about this? We can go to town and ask the people there to bring your daughters back to you; and thus, you would never need to attack it again. How's that sound?"

To that, the dragon thinks for a while, then she says to him and his party, "Alright then, sure. That would be a good bargain. Make sure you do that. You only have until this afternoon, got it?"

Despite being fearful of her, the party nodded.

 "Yes, we will."

"Of course, we'll do it as fast as possible."

 "Yes, you have our word."

"Okay then, humans," the silver dragon responded as she stood up and showed her big wings to them. "Also, one more thing…"

"Yeah, what is it?" Russell asked.

"How about a little match with me?"

 "Wait, what?"

"Yes, no human would leave my presence without a fight with me."

"A-Are you serious?" Adrian responded while being terrified of her.

In response to that, the silver dragon opened her mouth and released a stream of flame just above them, scaring them a lot.

She then closed her mouth. "How about that?"

Without a choice, Russell boldly and strongly responded, "Okay, we'll have a match."
