Chapter 9: Christmas Morning
Lakeside, Illinois December 25th 1990
"Dad... Dad... wake up!"
"huh? what is it Charlie?
"Dad it's Christmas morning come on you got to see all the presents!"
"huh? O... I'll be down in a minute" I say as I put my head back on my pillow. Wait... my pillow? I sit up straight and look around me and I realize I'm in my own bed, in my own house. But how?
"Charlie how did we get home? "
"Does it matter how? you got to see this!"
Before I could ask him again he runs out of the room, so I decided to follow him to see what all the fuss is about. As I get down the stairs I hear the door bell ring.
"Be right there" I open the door and see Laura standing there.
"Morning Scott, nice PJs where did you get them?"
"Huh... PJs?" I look down and realize that I am wearing bright red PJs just like in the film. However, Judy never gave me to them so I honestly don't know where I got them or even how I could be wearing them.
"Dad got it as a gift from the elves we saw at the north pole. We had a great time, it was amazing to see."
"that sounds incredible Charlie why don't you go outside and wait in the car"
"ok. Bye dad thanks for the great time at the north pole."
"Good bye Charlie" as he walks out Laura looks back at me with a questionable look.
"So what did you guys actually do last night?"
"O you know had a Christmas dinner, stayed up late to watch a movie, and I even read him some Christmas stories. He must have had a pleasant dream last night"
Still looking at me Laura says "I see... well.. thank you for taking care of him last night. I sure that whatever happened you two had a fun night"
"That we did goodbye Laura... and Merry Christmas"
"Merry Christmas Scott"
As she opens the door and heads out I see them off as they drive away. Once gone from view I return inside my home, sit on the couch, and after a deep breath I say "Status"

As I read the message I recline on my couch thinking that this is definitely going to cause me some problems in the future.
