Chapter 7: - Training is ago, for real this time-
You know, when one gets a figure that is the center of religion, the first response is to usually bow in their presence, but I fainted as my first reaction. However, their presence proved to be more calming and human like than I would have thought, including Ainz and Harry.
It was a couple days after as Harry began his magic training with Ainz and I was manning the Treasure Spot as Milim came barging in. "Bestie!! I missed you!" she shouted as she dived in for a hug which I dodged, lest I go splat on the walls. "Come on Milim, you know I wouldn't have survived that" I told her as she got up.
On her back was the Ame no nuboku, a spear she grabbed way back then. I was scared of her getting that thing, considering its history in the creation of Japan and its own water and earth properties imbued into it.
"Sorry but I wanted to see you!" She shouted as she gave me a normal hug. It was quite nice, even if she was a loli with the power to probably crunch a planet, no biggie.
"Anyhow, Milim" I said as she turned her face to me. "Do you know anyone who could probably teach me magic?" I asked her. She looked puzzled at it but it looked like an idea suddenly struck her at that moment.
"One of my followers might know!" she shouted as she drug me out the door into her castle, and two of her attendants, Middray and Hermes, were present. She ran to them with me in tow. "Hermes and Middray know holy magic" She said as I was confused and Hermes offered to explain.
"Magic is separated into four types: Aspectual, Holy, summoning, and elemental. Holy magic that requires faith and a contract with a god to control spiritrons which are deadly" said Hermes as the knowledge was still a bit much for me but I was able to understand the jist of it.
"Is a god really necessary?" I asked as Hermes responded "Not really, but it makes the process easier to use, especially if you can't manipulate spiritrons by yourself" said Hermes as I understood. "So, would you like to be my magic teacher?" I asked him as he looked contemplative.
"I can teach you holy magic, but someone who can use Aspectual magic would be someone to learn from" said Hermes. "Do you know anybody?" I asked him as he nodded and he sent for someone from the faithful.
The person was called Juro, and he was named that by Milim as a lizard man which caused him to evolve to a more human like state. "My name is Juro, and it would be an honor to teach a friend of Milim" said Juro as he bowed briskly and whisked me away to begin the teaching.
"Magic in this world is the embodiement of an idea that produces an effect in accordance to a law in the world. The aspectual magic tree, the one I am teaching you, uses these images to cause an effect like Ice or fire that can't be affected by normal elements" said Juro as he demonstrated by summoning an icicle.
"Your training will consist of image training and manipulation of magicules to form an effect" said Juro as my training began.
He made me imagine a fireball at first, a simple image. I was able to do so, and he then made me imagine the laws behind it, its heat and its shape and color. With the addition of so many variables, it became more difficult. However, now that I had a concrete image in mind, the goal was to cast it using my mana to move the magicules in the air.
My training in cultivation helped me somewhat in this regard, moving my internal energy in my body towards my hand, causing a faint glow. "Good! never seen a human have magic capacity like this! Now, envision the fireball" said Juro as the image appeared in my head. I imagined the heat, shape, and its effects and my mana moved.
Above the palm of my hand, a welling of mana began to form as it took on a shape. It became a ball of raging flames that mimicked the sun. "Good, now throw it" said Juro as I opened my eyes and launched it at a nearby rock, and it seemed to have caused an explosion as debris was flying everywhere.
"Very good, now do that again" said Juro as the hours of grueling training drained my reserves. As soon as my reserves recovered, I continued until it was dinner time. I invited him along with Milim and Middray and Hermes to the spot and when I entered I spotted Ainz and Harry sitting at the bar, with Harry feeling very winded it looks like.
"Whose up for some soup?" I offered as I started a pot and began peeling and chopping various vegetables like carrots and potatoes. I was not a chef but I can do simple soups and the like. It took a few minutes before it was done and I served it to my guests pipong hut and fuller of seasonings like chile and Red jalapeno pepper. It was a nice hearty soup, and Harry, now revitalized, explained his day to me.
"There was this lady with black wings that looked intimidating and a man in a pinstripe suit that had a metal tale that looked like he was dissecting me with his eyes" he said as he shuttered as he remembered them. "I'm sorry about that, but my subordinates are not that hospitable to humans" said Ainz. It was quite ironic considering Ainz himself use to be human, in a world that seemed to have already died.
It was quite a sad tale but he was in a new world he seemed to be intrigued by so that was good, as a friend I had to feel happy for him. I also told them about my day, training to master a branch of magic that was elemental in nature. It revolved around the laws of the world causing it to influence the world according to those laws and Ainz looked intrigued about the magic there.
"I wonder if I can gain access to the powers there?" he wondered as I reminded him about the rule breaker. I was brought out of my mindings by Milim having a stray thought. "Why don't I name you!" she offered to Ainz who looked intrigued and confused at the prospect.
"Sure, why not" said Ainz which caused Milim to jump in joy. "I name you Ainz!" said Milim as a flow of power left her body and began to infuse itself into Ainz own body, and began to deep into his very existence which I could see according to my spiritual senses. He went under a qualitative change, and I could feel something metaphysical change around Ainz, loosening its hold on him.
He collapsed onto the floor but his health wasn't in danger. "What happened Milim?" I asked her as Harry looked worried about his teacher. "He might be evolving and gaining new skills" said Milim as I looked at him. Evolving, can someone as strong as that still grow? Maybe what was loosening on him was his growth restriction and now he will evolve even further.
"Huh, neat" I said out loud as I decided to give Ainz a place to rest in the Treasure Spot. Milim looked unworried, probably because this was a fundamental part of her world, as was the case with Joru.
"Alright, lets prepare a gift then" I said as I opened the doors to the vault and began searching for something until I came across something that seemed very powerful and useful for a sorcerer. A holy grail from a world bound in a war among mages and spiritual familiars to achieve a wish. It was an uncorrupted version as I could see in the vaults flavor texts.
I approached Ainz and pushed the grail inside him, and it seemed to fuse with his soul and bodies bones. I felt his magic increase bit by bit, and it seemed it would be for an eternity. "I hope you appreciate the gift my friend and use your wishes wisely" I told him as I let him sleep and approached the front of the shop.
