Is It Funny That The Dragon Slayer Failed And Became The Dragon Princess?

Volume 1 Chapter 7

07. The Human Sword Saint Appears?

Within the palace, a dragon maid from the Royal Maid Corps approached the Silver Dragon Queen, Xia Lulu.

She had red hair similar to Sera’s, and her figure even surpassed Sera’s in subtle ways. The two of them shared many similarities in appearance.

This was Sera’s older sister, Lucia.

However, compared to Sera who always maintained a polite smile, Lucia was more aloof and never smiled. Her way of doing things was decisive. The personalities of these two maid sisters were quite the opposite.

“Your Majesty, I have returned. Regarding the task you entrusted me with…”

“Shh.”

Xia Lulu, who had her eyes closed, raised a finger and placed it in front of her cherry lips, signaling Lucia not to disturb her.

It didn’t seem like Xia Lulu was doing anything particularly important, just resting with her eyes closed.

Lucia stood silently beside Xia Lulu, maintaining a standard posture, waiting for her master to call for her.

A long time passed.

Xia Lulu slowly opened her silver eyes and said softly, “Lucia, how long did I sleep?”

“About an hour, Your Majesty.”

“Lucia, I made you wait a long time.”

“Not at all, Your Majesty. This is part of my duties.”

“Lucia, I hope you haven’t disappointed me?”

“Your Majesty, regarding the past of the Human Sword Saint Wright, I have completed the relevant investigation. His experiences were indeed very tortuous and extraordinary.”

Lucia explained methodically.

“The Human Sword Saint was from the Rhine Kingdom. He lost his relatives at a young age and spent his childhood in an orphanage, where he was very popular. At that time, the heir of the Schubert family in the Rhine Kingdom met with an accident and fell into a coma. As a precaution, they selected him from the orphanage for his outstanding talent in swordsmanship… So he was chosen by the Schuberts to be adopted and renamed Wright Schubert, brought back to the Schubert family. For the sake of reputation, the Schubert family publicly claimed that Wright had Schubert blood and was the legitimate heir, concealing his past in the orphanage.”

“And then?”

“Wright continuously broke through in the field of human swordsmanship, defeating many powerful enemies for humans and bringing much honor to the Schubert family, becoming the Human Sword Saint. Wright Schubert should have continued to be cultivated as the family’s heir, but an unexpected turn of events occurred. The original heir of the Schubert family who was in a coma unexpectedly woke up. This caused a big problem for the Schubert family, as they suddenly had two heirs.”

“…”

“As you have seen, the Human Sword Saint took on a task too bizarre for humans, to become a dragon slayer and defeat you, resulting in his death after being defeated by you. This is the secret I uncovered while infiltrating the Rhine Kingdom.”

Lucia finished her report.

After hearing this, Xia Lulu roughly understood.

So he was never expected to return alive, just a sacrificial pawn.

“What about the orphanage?” Xia Lulu was somewhat concerned.

“The situation at the orphanage is not very good. Due to the Schubert family’s concealment, even the people at the orphanage didn’t know that the child they had adopted was the Human Sword Saint. The Schubert family had long since ceased their support, and the orphanage is about to face closure.”

“Lucia, secretly support that orphanage in the name of the Human Sword Saint. Provide financial support discreetly and don’t let the orphanage close down… If anyone dares to have ill intentions towards the orphanage, just kill them.”

“As you command, Your Majesty.” Lucia was very surprised by this order.

“Lucia, you were excellent in this task. What reward do you want?”

“I don’t need any. Serving Your Majesty is already my greatest honor.”

“You have something you want. Your eyes betray you.”

Lucia was a little embarrassed and remained silent for a moment. “Your Majesty, please forgive my ignorance. I really don’t understand why you would investigate an insignificant human to such an extent, and secretly support that orphanage in the name of the Human Sword Saint. Is there any important benefit in doing so?”

Xia Lulu smiled slightly. “No benefit at all, just pure fondness.”

“Fondness?”

“Yes.”

If her daughter wanted to run away from home, at least let her have a place to go.

Xia Lulu thought.

Night.

In Xia Yi’s bedroom.

Sera tucked the little princess in and was about to blow out the candle to say goodnight.

“Good night, Princess. Sweet dreams.”

“Sera, don’t go yet. Wait a bit longer…”

“Princess, could it be that you’re afraid of the dark?”

“Huh?! Wh-What are you saying? Afraid of the dark! What a joke! I’m not! I-I’m just…”

Xia Yi tugged at the blanket, covering half of her little face, and made a guilty excuse.

“I have class tomorrow. I thought Sera would feel lonely not seeing me all day, so I’m keeping you here a bit longer!”

Not convincing at all, Princess.

Sera was tactful enough not to point it out and just nodded.

“Then, Princess, I’ll stay a little longer and blow out the candle after you fall asleep.”

“That’s more like it, that’s what a good maid should do!”

Afterwards, Xia Yi chatted with Sera.

The content of their chat wasn’t anything special, mostly Sera sharing some of her experiences with Xia Yi.

As the little princess, Xia Yi stayed in the Dragon Palace all year round and rarely went out, so she was curious about the outside world.

But she never went out even when she had the chance.

She was simply a pure, stay-at-home dragon.

“Huff… huff… huff…”

Xia Yi, who was originally sleepy, felt a strange sensation in her heart. In a half-awake state, she heard someone calling her name, causing her to wake up.

“Sera… Is that you calling me?”

She lifted the blanket and sat up from the bed, but there was only herself in the bedroom. Sera was nowhere to be seen, and the candle was still burning slowly.

Xia Yi frowned slightly. “How could Sera leave without blowing out the candle?”

She found it strange and called out a few times, but Sera didn’t respond.

This was the first time since Xia Yi had known Sera that she left her master without a word… As an outstanding Royal Maid, Sera had almost never been so negligent.

Xia Yi got out of bed, put on her slippers, and felt a bit worried, thinking that Sera might have encountered an accident. She searched around.

When she passed by the mirror in the room, she froze.

The reflection in the mirror wasn’t herself. There was no silver-haired dragon loli wearing pink pajamas, but a male swordsman in full-body armor.

The sword in the swordsman’s hand was all too familiar to Xia Yi. It was the Sword Saint’s sword, the Holy Sword Gram.

Xia Yi’s silver eyes widened in shock.

“The Human Sword Saint?”
