Volume 1 Chapter 6
06. Don’t Call Me Cute
“Welcome back, Princess.”
In front of her own room, Sera, as a maid, had been waiting for a long time.
She bowed to Xia Yi in welcome.
“Have you informed Her Majesty the Queen of today’s victory?”
“Yes, Sera, Mother praised me a lot! Ehehe!”
Xia Yi pushed open the door and jumped in happily. She raised her leg and flung her shoes off, then pounced on the bed and started rolling around while hugging a pillow.
“Sera, Sera, was I amazing today?”
She had an expression on her face that said “hurry up and praise me”. Rather than a dragon, she was more like an energetic puppy, with starry eyes shining.
“Your performance today was truly beyond my expectations. You were indeed excellent in battle, flawless.”
Sera closed the door and picked up the shoes on the floor, placing them properly where they should be.
“However, Princess, although you have gained the dragons’ recognition in terms of strength… you still need to maintain excellence in etiquette. Throwing your shoes all over the place and running around the room wearing only socks is not the behavior of a proper lady.”
“Eh, how troublesome, Sera.”
“Princess, perhaps you need to retake the royal etiquette class.”
“Wha?!”
Upon hearing the words “etiquette class”, Xia Yi instantly felt a chill down her spine.
Recalling that old, single dragon lady teacher with a bad temper, many unpleasant memories surfaced.
For example, in order to correct her sitting posture, Xia Yi was subjected to a body-binding spell by the etiquette teacher and forced to sit for several hours straight, unable to even scratch an itch on her tail. It was simply torture for both body and mind.
Her head was already starting to ache. She had to find a way to gloss over it!
“Sera, those who achieve great things do not get bogged down by minor details. How can one accomplish anything if they pay so much attention to trivial matters!”
Xia Yi sat up from the bed.
She even imitated the Silver Dragon Queen, crossing her legs and giving her maid a haughty look.
Her delicate jade feet, covered in semi-transparent white silk stockings, swayed lightly up and down at the edge of the bed.
“I, the future ruler of the Dragon Race, need not strictly adhere to the overly complicated and unnecessary etiquette for ladies!”
Seeing her little princess trying hard to imitate the domineering style of the Silver Dragon Queen, Sera was truly amused and almost couldn’t hold back her laughter.
What kind of ruler was this?
Sera couldn’t sense a shred of majesty from this loli dragon. The way she tried to put on airs only made Xia Yi appear even more adorable to her.
“Yes, yes, yes. The princess is truly amazing. I’m convinced.”
“I can’t sense any sincerity this time, Sera. You’re just humoring me.”
“Princess, you’re really cute.”
“Mm, that’s the right tone… Wait, don’t call me cute!”
“Then, as the formidable and authoritative future ruler of the dragon race, how about this, Your Highness?”
“It sounds so awkward. Just address me the way you usually do,” Xia Yi ordered her maid, “Sera, take me to bathe.”
“As you wish, Princess. Please don’t move.”
Sera picked up a pair of slippers, walked to Xia Yi’s side, and knelt on one knee. She held up the delicate little foot in front of her and placed it on her palm.
She could feel Xia Yi’s faint body temperature. Even through the layer of silk stockings, she could sense that smooth, jade-like skin, as if it were a carefully sculpted work of art, soft and boneless, truly making one want to knead it thoroughly.
However, from Xia Yi’s expression, Sera could tell that the princess seemed unaware of her own alluring charm, despite her body being enough to drive anyone mad…
Of course, as a member of the Royal Maid Corps, Sera would always maintain her excellence and not do anything out of line. She simply put the slippers on Xia Yi’s feet.
“Princess, please allow me to take you to the bathroom.”
…
The bathroom in the Dragon Palace was very spacious. Surrounded by mist, Xia Yi couldn’t even see the walls around her clearly.
Mermaid statues held aloft pitchers, from which warm water continuously flowed into the pool.
Xia Yi soaked in the pool, feeling the fatigue from today’s battle gradually dissipating.
If she remembered correctly, these water sources were all expensive magic spirit springs with special properties.
The magic spring water used for alchemy in the outside world was now being used for bathing… The treatment enjoyed by the royal family of the dragon race was truly luxurious.
“Sera,” Xia Yi said.
“I’m here, Princess.”
“Why don’t you come in and soak for a bit? I remember you haven’t rested in a long time.”
Xia Yi turned her head and looked at the obedient red maid standing on the side, waiting for her master to finish bathing.
“Thank you for your kindness, Princess. I am truly honored. However, only the royal family is allowed to enjoy the springs. We Royal Maids are not qualified,” Sera calmly declined, “As long as you can enjoy it, I, as a maid, am very happy.”
“Alright, this rule existed before I was born, right?”
“Yes. However, it wasn’t always like this. Back then, even ordinary dragons could enjoy the magic springs like you. In ancient times, the dragons possessed vast territories and abundant resources. They were the most powerful Superior Race. However, other Superior Races feared the dragons and united together to wage war against us. Although we barely emerged victorious, we lost a lot in the war…”
Xia Yi was aware of what Sera mentioned.
For some reason, she had a strong interest in the history of the dragon race and even studied it with gusto.
It was that ancient war that engulfed every corner of the world in flames… Willing or not, all races were dragged into the conflict.
It was precisely because of that war that the entire world recognized the strength of the dragons. However, the dragons also paid a heavy price for it.
The dragons were indeed strong, but what they feared the most was losing members.
Because the reproductive ability of the dragon race is… well, it’s almost the worst.
The dragon race is still strong now, but they dare not act rashly anymore.
After all, even the united races couldn’t completely defeat the dragons, a strength etched into every race’s blood memory.
As long as the dragons made any move, other races would choose to tacitly put aside their differences and unite to oppose the dragons.
This led to the existence of the dragons being akin to the evil of this world.
Absurdly, Xia Yi had even heard that in the outside world, the Silver Dragon Princess was seen as the future tyrannical Dragon Queen, personally flying to human cities every day to revel in slaughter, bloodthirsty and indulgent, allowing her kin to burn, kill, and plunder, taking tens of thousands of lives in just a few short years.
But in reality?
Her hobby is just staying at home and slacking off.
The outside world’s misunderstanding of the dragons is really a bit too much.
