Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments

Chapter 248: Natural Couple

Wendy had dressed up and prepared to go for a cosplay.

She's currently in a function hall, where an event is held for the mat. She was dressed as one of the more well known characters of a popular game.

As she left the women's comfort room she glances over to another cosplayer who was dressed as a character who seemed like a common ship with the character she cosplays.

"Hey Drax, seems like you're ready now?" The cosplayer, who was in actuality Draxus simply smiled and placed his phone back in his pocket. "Yeah, I'm ready now." "What were you doing with your phone?" "It was Serkyrio, I can't really explain while we're here." Considering that any topic with Serkyrio is not meant to be brought to public, Wendy simply smiled as she decided to forget about it for the time being.

The two of them wandered around the event area, greeting other cosplayers and having small talks. Most of the conversation was handled by Wendy, as most of them were simply her acquaintances. "Hey Wendy, who is that?" Some of her female acquaintances were curious about Draxus, who was simply following around her for the time being. "Oh Draxus?" She decided to show her left hand which has a ring on her ring finger. The girls then understood as he approached her after taking many pictures with other people and cosplayers.

One of the male cosplayers took notice, and was quite close with Wendy. Seeing Wendy have an engagement ring at a young age made him question whether she's being groomed. "Wendy, are you okay with being with him?" The way he asked was somewhat reasonable, but Draxus sensed some malice in him. He tried to move in front of Wendy but she turned her head towards Draxus and simply winked. That was enough for Draxus to know that she will be okay. "I don't think he's the kind of person that would do things. He's been constantly working the past few days for me and the others." Wendy then took Draxus's hand before she thanked the others for talking with her. "We'll be on our way now~!" She waved her other hand at her friends before pulling Draxus through the crowd.

"You really okay with showing it to them like that? Here on Earth we're still very young." "To be honest, I don't really want to be held back by other people for too long. And it's not like they can change the fact about our relationship now can they?" "Yeah, though I am quite surprised, you were born here, so I thought you'd be less accepting of being in a harem." Wendy grinned, as she was also quite surprised with her own decisions. "To be honest, I wanted to go after you when you helped me back then. You, Remuel, Arlesk, and Serkyrio were so famous back then, even without cosplaying at all. Everyone knew you four as the mysterious beings. You all wear to your color schemes, and you follow the theme of the events. Many girls wanted to interact with you four, but nobody has been really gotten close aside from probably those who have been working for Preeliance." The two moved towards a restaurant nearby to have their lunch for the time being, they were still in their costumes but people respected their privacy for a break and onlookers weren't moving in to ask for a picture.

"Why did you first join Serkyrio's group Drax?" The two of them are eating in a Chinese restaurant. They conversed about some things about Draxus's past as she was slightly curious now. "I've been with Serkyrio's group for a very long time now. The latest member of the absolute higher ups is Andreus, who is currently acting as the Prime Minister of Preeliance. But on my side, I had been a member since I acted quite brashly before. I always tended to fail on some things back then and I failed to mature so many times. But after meeting him, I had grown so rapidly being developed by him that I improved in almost all aspects aside from the emotional end." Wendy listened completely and offered some comments to his kind of life. They continued to converse until their food arrives.

"Is that spicy?" Wendy took notice of Draxus's meal, the food looked completely red that it wasn't out of the question to be ultimately spicy. "I believe I ordered the spiciest one, but I'm somewhat disappointed, I guess I'm far too used spicy food." "Do you perhaps like spicy food?" "Mostly, but I could say that my favorites are more neatly done and some roughly done cooking. Things like fried eggplant, spring rolls, or tuna even would make me go crazy in mere moments. Now that I think about it, I haven't really spoken about my favorite food." "Oh right, it's because you're the one that cooks for everyone usually." The chatter about Draxus continued until the afternoon events.

This time, the two are shopping for souvenirs as the stalls had various things. After collecting a few souvenirs of various characters from games they both played. They then went over a few more stalls which had puzzles that challenged the minds. One of the areas in the event was a whole escape room, and the two of them decided to try it as a pair.

They managed to finish the escape room within a simple stretch of thirty minutes, which was pretty much a record for at least the escape room. Draxus and Wendy gave a high five as the two showed the others on their capabilities on solving puzzles.

After going through various other stalls, they decided to go for one more loop, but this time buying through every food stall.

The two then spent the rest of the day going through the event, they ended the day by going towards a tower with the view of the sea.

"You know, ever since that day you were summoned, I was looking for a chance that you would return here. After you returned here for the first time, it was quite hectic, as everyone who was summoned turned into seemingly silent people on their return. But when I realized that they were simply clones, I was starting to lose hope again." Wendy was leaning her head on Draxus's shoulder, as she gazed towards the sea, she felt slightly nostalgic and melancholic. "If you were never summoned at all, what would I have done...?" Draxus simply listened, letting her monologue and tell him how she had felt for the longest time. "I would've likely been unable to let out my true feelings, and probably stayed behind watching you from afar. So when I was summoned into that world, I actually regained hope. I thought back then that maybe, I could search for you in that world. But to think that you came to rescue everyone who was summoned... I suppose that you've never really changed after all those times." Draxus brushed her hair with his hand, thinking that he was unable to realize such feelings were budding that time. He finally spoke what came into his mind. "But in the end, everything just ended up in place right? We met again, and eventually ended up together with everyone else." "I wouldn't have been unable to confess if it weren't for Olivia." "You two really get along huh...?" Wendy nodded, as she simply continued to lean on Draxus.

After some time, the sun had finally set. It was about time for the two of them to return to Preeliance.

"Well, it's time to return." Wendy stood up as she brushed off anything that may have come on her skirt. Draxus then stood and smiled as he looked off at the distance. "I don't think it's over yet." "Huh...?" "Look over there, it's surprisingly that celebration again." "Oh right, I forgot that it happens around October. I've been too busy with managing between Earth and the Otherworld affairs..." "Well we still have some time. Let's go?" Draxus offered his hand to Wendy, to which she smiled and took it immediately.

"There's never an end with you... My love..." Wendy smiled as she first gave Draxus a kiss before the two of them left the tower.
