Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments

Chapter 274: [Hunt] Phase I:

"That's two of them..." Wesley was inside a noble's mansion, right after murdering the noble that had been listed as one of the targets to eliminate. Since the noble tried to resist, Wesley did not hesitate to get rid of him. "Now to also free the slaves he has." Wesley went towards the dungeon of the mansion, looking for possible victims of slavery as he scoured for secret rooms and the like.

Wesley kept his presence shrouded as he wanted to not get detected by any enemy. His light armor allows him to detect every bit of magic in the surroundings and predict the future. With his equipment, he was pretty much difficult in combat and almost unparalleled in assassination.

"Hmm...?" Wesley took notice that the walls are a bit easier to handle on a certain spot, since he doesn't have time to solve a puzzle to open a door, he simply placed an breaching explosive on the wall. As the charge detonates, he immediately moves into the secret path and prepared his daggers in case of enemies guarding it.

"No enemies... But I still have to be on guard..." Wesley then started walking down the path, while planting explosives on the floor behind him so he doesn't get tracked in case enemies would follow behind him.

After going down the stairs, he arrived to dungeon cells of various races. From beast-human races to even elves and other humans. "Despicable..." Wesley was irritated with how nobles could act like such. "At the very least they can be free now." Wesley heard explosions from behind him, realizing that some guards may have followed after what has happened around the mansion. "I guess I have no time here." Wesley opened each cell as he freed the slaves from the collars with his equipment.

The former slaves were cheering, seeing a chance for them to recover their old lives. Wesley remained serious as he continued to give the freedom to the slaves.

"Wesley, Jevil has completed his first town, kindly send him to the next town as soon as possible." Wesley nodded as he created multiple shadows to hold every slave in the dungeon and transported them to the rehab center of the Preeliance. He then swapped with a shadow to a different town to search for Jevil.

Jevil forcefully entered through the town, most of the citizens were hiding but he noticed that some adventurers had been enlisted for the protection of the noble. Since he didn't want to get rid of adventurers, he moved and specifically targeted the guards and the private armies with his bloodlust. "Magicians!" The captain of the squad tried to had their magicians unleash magic straight towards Jevil as he started getting closer to them.

Jevil dodged each magic that they unleashed, even slicing magic that he couldn't avoid. "This much of magic looks so pitiful compared to the chief!" Jevil easily passed through the maelstrom of magic and started killing off the magicians. The captain was starting to see despair as Jevil continued to attack without getting hit completely. It felt like a pure mockery, nothing but humiliation as Jevil didn't even flinch with every attack he had made.

Jevil, after killing the magicians started approaching the captain with his scythe leaning on him completely. The captain seeing the blade of the scythe completely overarching Jevil's body struck him with intense fear. "Look here..." Jevil squatted down on the fallen captain who was no longer able to fight. "It's a little unfortunate that your country's heroes decided to do some oopsies that I won't be able to forgive. And double unfortunate that you're sent out to fight against some impossible opponent." Jevil started speaking on a more serious manner. "So yeah, goodbye." Jevil stood up once more and beheaded the captain. "Now, all that's left is the noble of this town?" Jevil started walking towards the noble mansion with his presence detection as he noticed that the noble had seemingly escaped using a hidden path. Jevil smiled as the pupils in his eyes started to change into the shape of a target. "Where do you think you're going...?" Jevil closed his eyes for a moment to take a breather. After opening his eyes, he started to see a line and followed it.

After following the line, he arrived into some back alley area. Jevil patiently waited for the noble to come out as he waited in the corner. A few moments later, a hidden door was opened and the noble was rushing out in a panic. He had a plump build as he looked like he was indulging in nothing but food and women with his scent that even Jevil covered his nose for a moment. The noble looked around, wanting to confirm his escape before cheering loudly. Just as the noble stepped forward in arrogance, he felt a blade sift into his thick neck for a moment. "Yo~!" Jevil spoke in a good mood as the noble turned around in dread. "Let's see, you are...? A fat noble who indulges in money, food, and slaves. Doesn't seem all that impressive don't you think?" "What rudeness! How dare yo-!" "How dare I? Stop a noble in his tracks? Did you forget? Or maybe you're irredeemably stupid? We're in war. Wallow with your missing riches in hell, fat fuck." Jevil swiftly cut off the noble's limbs and watched him die in disdain as he continued to weep for his life to be spared for more indulgence.

After the noble had finally stopped moving, seemingly from losing consciousness after the agonizing pain, Jevil beheaded the noble and sat down for a break. "Miss Olivia, this town is secured, no [People of Earth] base is found here." Jevil activated the intercom to report his success. He received a quick response thanking for his hard work and to take a rest before Wesley arrives. "I have to do this a lot more times huh?" Jevil looked up on the sky before looking at his phone. "9:00 AM huh...? I could see Draxus finishing his part before lunch or so. But to do every part at once instead of systematically dealing with them, I guess the schedule is quite tight since the [People of Earth]'s presence here makes it easy for them to retaliate if we do one part each."

Wesley arrives to see the noble seemingly having his limbs sliced off. "Goddamn, you really went all out." Wesley looked at the back alley in awe as Jevil had pretty much dismembered the noble's limbs, even the [Extra] limb they have that they use for self-satisfaction. "What can you say? There's a lot that happens that we wouldn't enjoy watching. So if we don't like what we see..." "We get rid of the person making it unpleasant for us and we do whatever we want." Jevil and Wesley smiled on the principles of their chief. "Never leave with a bad aftertaste." Jevil and Wesley then teleported to a different town. "Actually Wes, my nigga, that noble back there had a disgusting smell, you should check if he had any captive slaves. Though I haven't really gone to the mansion because the bozo escaped with a secret path." Wesley looked at Jevil as he was holding back his grinning. Jevil was dark skinned, but was also pretty racist to practically every other race. However, he wouldn't disrespect the races if he's with his friends. "If you're on Earth the media would have a field day with you, but yeah, I'll go check it out, good luck here my nigga." Jevil and Wesley fist bumped before Wesley returned to the town Jevil was in. They didn't care about the terms they used, but that's what made the Sentinel vice chiefs and the chief close with each other.
