Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments

Keith started rushing towards the castle, and eventually takes notice of a figure holding two swords as he was casting magic towards the direction of the castle. In that moment, he also saw Lilianna and Julianna seemingly exhausted and showed a few injuries here and there.

And as he got closer, he started to get a feel of the power that he had trained on using. "[Kingfisher Bladework Fantasia]... [Advanced]..." Keith swapped out the chain ball into a sharp weighted blade on the other end. "[Bladestorm]!" Keith arrived closer and started swinging the chain around with finesse. Lawrence was surprised by the sudden ambush behind him as he realized that he was now surrounded.

A dark blue tornado appeared from below Keith as it flung him up to the air while damaging his clothes. "Miss Lilianna! Miss Julianna! Continue the extraction of the royalty! Leave Lawrence to me!" He wasn't fazed even if he was damaged by the attack, as the [Heavenly Spirit] is still active embracing his body, the injuries were easily healed as he took command of the two to get them out of the battlefield. Lilianna and Julianna understood the command and immediately turned behind them and guided the King and Queen of Aquila to a different direction.

"Tsk! I didn't think you'd be able to get through them. But then again, that is a new spirit that you're using. So it's pretty fair that they may have been overwhelmed by it." Lawrence was irritated as Keith landed in front of him, blocking his chance from attacking Lilianna and Julianna. Keith had somewhat understood Lawrence's capabilities. Since the [Heavenly Spirit] protects his body, any form of decaying ability would not work against him at the present time. For a few moments, the stand off continued. Neither one of them wanted to make the first move as they could easily put the other at a disadvantage for taking the initiative. Keith drank a full set of potions to prepare himself for battle. Lawrence simply allowed that to happen.

"You're not attacking huh?" "I could say the same to you." The two were talking as they were unsure on whether to attack first or not. After a few moments of spitting out their disdain for each other, a powerful shockwave burst out from the castle, as wind passed by them greatly. With the shockwave boosting his speed, Keith attacked with a gunshot instantly as he swings his chained blade which started destroying the nearby buildings. They were empty so Keith had no problem destroying them. Lawrence blocked the initial strike with his black sword, but Keith didn't space out in any way. "Is the range helping him? Or maybe it's that spirit's effect...? Along with protecting his body and healing injuries... If it could also deny me from breaking his concentration then this would be trouble..." Lawrence's thoughts were having some issues as he wanted to quickly find an opening. Looking at the pillar of light that was surging up, he tried to make use of Draxus being in danger as a distraction. "Don't you think that the [Prime] is in trouble? You're running out of time here [King of Spirits]!" Lawrence laughed as he unleashed the power of the dark blue sword, summoning a fire wall that decays every body it touches, orbs from behind the wall ready to fire and a tornado that was quickly flying towards Keith's location. Keith dodged the attack smoothly and tried to dodge the other attacks that were hidden behind the dark blue flames.

With the [Heavenly Spirit] defending him, he couldn't really make any reckless movements as once the [Heavenly Spirit] fades from exhaustion, Keith would be in trouble for not being too careful with his actions. Therefore, every time Keith attacks, he moves around while continuously swinging the chains around to ensure that most attacks are blocked or deflected. And with the [Heavenly Spirit] also blessing his weapon, he wouldn't have to deal with decay on his weapon as he noticed Lilianna and Julianna not using their actual weapons beforehand on his arrival.

In the few moments of dodging and minimizing the damage done to the [Heavenly Spirit], Keith swapped out the blade back into the giant chain ball. He knew that Draxus was now in a position that could already be possessed, and he started to take notice that the skies are starting to darken as he received communication from Olivia that was given to all present Sentinels in the mission. "All units! Be advised! Take cover from the incoming rain! I repeat! Take cover!" Hearing the panic in Olivia's voice, Keith launched the ball using his feet to amplify the force along with the spirits of time and space to hit Lawrence, but he managed to dodge easily as smoke rose up from the impact of Keith's weapon as he pulled it away before Lawrence could cut the chain. He then took cover in one of the houses as instructed by Olivia.

"Hmm...? He's hiding?" Lawrence was confused on Keith's decision to hide from him, and as the rain started pouring, he was hit by the few raindrops. "Ow! What hit me?!" Lawrence was confused as more raindrops start to land on his shoulders and body, and when he looked the raindrop was absorbed into his body and left a painful burn mark deep into his skin. He then realized what was happening. "Tsk! I have to retreat here!" He rushed into a building and opened a power to escape.

Keith looked up the window and was able to see Lawrence feel agonized with the rain before he saw him take cover and escape. He sighed again as he recollects his thoughts, and considering that the rain will hurt anything he thought about some ways to get to the castle without touching any raindrop. After some time, he saw one of Wesley's shadows, he waved his hand to it hoping it would find him, to which it did in a few moments. Wesley then swapped with the shadow as he extracted Keith from the house and back into the castle.

Keith was concerned, as this time it's a different soul unlike the Destroyer they faced. They knew that they're going to be in an impossible battle once more as the other Sentinels have retreated. They went through a short briefing as they couldn't afford to waste too much time.

As they charged towards the bathroom where Draxus was fighting in present time, the first thing they saw when they arrived was Audrey completely desperate as she was using her magic to slow down Draxus who had changed form completely.

Facing another soul was something the Sentinel Vice chiefs feared. As the souls are some of the strongest beings, even above the council and other threatening opponents due to the absurd abilities each one holds.

Keith seeing one of his best friends slowly fall into the possession of one of his other selves again was a difficult pill to swallow. But considering that they have to fight another powerful entity in quick succession, they could only prepare themselves for battle as they prepared to surround him while distancing themselves from the open wall and ceiling as Draxus' form stood under the rain.

However, Keith noticed something in the expression of the awakened soul...

"This soul... Doesn't seem like he's rampaging..." Keith took notice of the soul who was smiling a bit as if he was testing them.
