Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments

Draxus woke up on a wide plain as his body jolted up from his back.

"H-Huh?" He showed confusion, unsure on where he was brought as he woke up. He looked around, and could only see nothing but plains within the area.

Draxus then stood up, wondering what had happened as he tried to recall everything that occurred before he suddenly woke up.

"I was... Fighting against Iapetus... Mnemosyne... Unknown... And Wrath..." He placed his hand on his head as his memory showed complete fog. After thinking for a while, he finally remembered the exact details. "Right! Mnemosyne... This means..." Draxus looked around once more, and could still only see the plains as he created an ice shard in front of him, trying to examine if he was seeing into the life of the soul.

Upon gazing at his own reflection, he could a person with white hair and cerulean eyes. A reflection of himself could be seen, which he made a conclusion that he was transported somewhere else. Or so he thought...

"Oh? It's you." He turned around to the owner of the voice and saw a person with light blue hair similar to the skies, and green eyes like the forests. The aura of the person resembled himself, but there was a hint of nobility in his voice. "Hello me." Draxus' eyes widened from shock, as he never expected an event like it. "You're surprised huh? I guess that applies to me as well... Never thought that I would see another fragment of myself in my world. You're not even the Destroyer or the Creator, yet you arrived here, even going back in time." "H-How..." Draxus was confused, but he wanted to try and gather information. "Well I suppose it's like that. I'll be borrowing your body for a while." "I-I see now... This is actually what's left of one of my fragments is it?" "Yes... Pretty sure you've known who I am already, but I'm Liam Belial. You know me as the [Soul of Nobility]. My abilities are the weakest among the souls, being able to control the [Natural Environment] of any world I live in." "As expected, your abilities range from controlling the weather to basically causing an apocalypse." The two continued to converse, in regards to Liam's abilities.

"So you're able to manifest the [Prime Form] huh...? Even if it's incomplete, that's quite impressive." "You know of our final limit?" "Yes, I've had knowledge of being able to manifest the [Prime Form], but I wasn't able to do so unfortunately. As expected, you have the highest potential of harnessing the full power of the [Prime]." "Why are you possessing me now?" Liam smiled as he started to explain what he has in mind.

"The enemies escaped because they couldn't handle this soul... He's not attacking me for some reason, maybe he's trying to assess my capabilities first?" Audrey was slightly confused as to why Liam, who is currently possessing Draxus was not attacking her. She had prepared to fight with all of her magic up. Liam simply kept his smile as he finally pointed his sword towards Audrey. "[The Fool]!" Audrey's instincts kicked in as she activated her [Arcana Goddess Forms]. She started the cycle as lightning struck through her body without even a single warning. Since she had the [Fool] form active, the lightning simply passed through her body without damaging it. She then started attacking as she unleashed various elements towards Liam. "[Absorbing Nature]." Liam calmly spoke as the magic unleashed by Audrey were getting absorbed as it enters a radius from his position. Seeing how her magic is useless, she was thinking of methods to attack Liam without using magic. "So any form of magic is useless huh...? Just what is his power...?" She continued attacking him, with more complicated magic as each one of them continues to get absorbed.

In the middle of her attacks, she wondered why Liam wasn't attacking her yet as he continued to absorb every magic she sends his way. And as she noticed that the [Fool] form is slowly starting to dissolve, she switches to the next form in the cycle. "[Magician]!" And in that moment, her instincts activated once more as Liam pointed one of his swords towards her. With the rain being loud, she wasn't able to hear anything as she was struck with lightning. Injuries instantly covered her body as she pulled out a [Recovery Deluxe] without delay and drank it.

She thought about dismantling the lightning strike by Liam, but it was too fast for her to comprehend. She started making moves to evade the attacks instead of trying to land attacks on her own as she noticed that every lightning strike Liam does generates some sort of orb near him. She wondered what purpose the energy orb holds as she continued dodging, but she knew it wouldn't be good to let it continue lingering around.

Audrey manifested thin nails that was almost difficult to perceive by the eye and launched it towards the energy orbs that was starting to accumulate near Liam. "Hmm...?" Liam showed a hint of surprise, as his energy orbs were dispersing one by one without his notice. He continued firing lightning strikes towards Audrey as he started to show a complicated expression on Audrey being able to dodge as much as she want. "[High Priestess]!" She switched to another form, as she was starting to become unable to maintain [Magician]. "[Air Resistance]." Liam activated another magic, which started accumulating an orb of dense air near him. At the same time, Audrey's speed lowered greatly, as every movement of her had greater air resistance now. 

"[Natural Magic]?!" She was shocked with the attacks Liam had been using. With her speed greatly lowered, she become more susceptible to lightning strikes as she was hit by three powerful ones directly. She still managed to recover using the abilities of [High Priestess] form.

The battle continued as they started to use more and more abilities, with Audrey starting to get close to the end of the cycle of her [Arcana Goddess Forms]. "[Judgement]!" She switched to judgement as she was still unable to find a breakthrough against Liam's attacks. Judgement allowed her to take hits without damaging her body in any way. The attacks launched toward her started to accumulate as she purposefully took lightning strikes. Liam takes notice of what Audrey was doing and stopped attacking with rapid succession. Since Audrey had dispersed multiple orbs from reaching maximum capacity, the orbs finally converged into the other sword Liam held and started glowing brightly. "[Calamity]." "[The World]!"

The chants happened at the same time, and both unleashed powerful shockwaves that clashed as both forces resisted each other completely. Audrey's form had completely changed, as her hair was starting to glow a faint red color for the activation of [The World]. "This power... It's too hard to control..." She lightly moved her hand, and caused extreme damage to the room as a dredge line was created in the motion of her hand. Liam's smile widened a bit as roots started to come out of the floor. The bathroom was slowly turning into a green house as gigantic vines covered their paths in between. Audrey opened them all up forcefully by unleashing magic using the movements of her hands, destroying all the roots that were brought up. Her continuous attack opened up a giant wall that led outside the castle. She could see the rain as she finally takes notice of reinforcements.

Liam smiles as he allowed them to regroup and prepare for battle.

"Audrey!" Keith and Wesley immediately went towards Audrey to help her up as her [World] form had been cancelled due to the lack of mana. "What is all this?!" "That soul seems to be a lot more tricky than the Destroyer. He doesn't use instant death attacks, but the speed of his attacks can be terrifying." Audrey drank a [Recovery Deluxe], [Precise Focus], and [Liquid Mana] to recover from the battle. Since she noticed that the soul hadn't moved as they started to regroup and form a concave around him without getting close outside.

Pauleen and Juniper were nervous. Despite the fact that they had already faced a soul, which was the Destroyer. Fighting another one meant that they're going to risk themselves heavily.

Jay, Mitch, Gilbert, and Justin arrived to the area a bit later. Jay moved in front of Audrey immediately to act as her defense as he prepared two swords.

As they all faced Liam, his smile never left his expression as he prepared to initiate the battle.
