Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments

"His attacks are faster than lightning! If he points that sword at you, dodge in that instant!" Audrey shouted a command to all the members who are fighting as Liam instantly points towards Keith and Jevil. The two of them split away as lightning struck their location. Both of them were grazed on their foot as they felt a jolt of lightning remain on their feet, paralyzing it which makes their movements dull for a few moments as Liam then scattered what seemed to be liquid as he activated the other sword. "Gasoline!" Gayle reacted quickly as she picked up the scent of the liquid. "Prepare against a fire spell!" Everyone distanced themselves as Liam started generated a fire wall that was spreading away from his body. "[Oxidation]." Liam unleashed a wall of fire as the gasoline scattered started a wild fire, and as he applied oxidation as well, the fire was now pretty much rampant. Audrey then unleashed a cold wind, dispersing most of the fire as she mixed ice and water magic to get rid of the rampant fire, impressing Liam with her ability to country natural effects with magic. Everyone then started rushing towards Liam who prepared himself for melee combat.

With pure finesse he easily drove Wesley's daggers away while blocking Jevil's giant scythe. He would then fire out lightning strikes as Wesley shifted his actions from attacking Liam to dispersing the orbs from accumulating too much power. None of them were able to reach him. As Liam had strengthened the [Air Resistance], making every movement of the Sentinels a lot more sluggish as they needed more force to break through the speed. Liam then took notice of three targets preparing to unleash magic. Since he knew Audrey would materialize objects instead of creating magic, he couldn't afford to let them get through. "[Tidal Wave]!" A wave of water started to cover the entire room from outside. It pretty much absorbed every attack they made and made every materialized object move twice as slow due to both water and air resistance.

And everyone was now soaked, making themselves even more heavier. Liam finally went on the attack, firing a lightning strike towards Viceroy who managed to block by activating a defense mechanism from his crystals. He rushed down the front guard as they barely manage to block one attack before getting kicked away. They were hurt but their lives weren't in danger.

"This is weird... This doesn't really feel like a rampaging soul..." Keith was starting to second guess their approach in the battle. He took a glance towards Liam who was attacking the Sentinels with kicks instead of slashing them with his swords. "Is he inexperienced in battle? No, considering that movement, and the way he uses his abilities to make it advantageous for him... He's likely a soul that's composed completely." Keith continued to look at the situation as he tries to compose himself. 

Gayle was surprised with how much more power was lurking inside Draxus with his souls. Since she had full knowledge of all the souls, she tried to react to every new attack Liam made and give information so the Sentinels could think of a counterattack or defensive maneuver. However, she was stumped currently, as she recognized that the current soul they're facing is the one with the highest variety on abilities despite being the weakest soul. 

They continued to barely dodge and received attacks from Liam's kicks as they were more sluggish due to the environmental factors. Liam continued to generate energy as they were slowly starting to lose their limits. Since they weren't in any grave injury, they were able to stand up once more and prepare themselves to fight Liam. As all of them prepared themselves, Liam's smile returned as he started floating and placed himself in the open area where a corrosive rain was falling. None of the raindrops were hitting him, which surprised all the members as they prepared for the next attack Liam will do against them. When he raised one of his swords, the rain started to stop the moment it reaches around his level. Gayle recognized the ability to stagnate the flow of nature and shouted in panic. "Everyone! Guarding abilities!" Liam then pointed the sword towards them who are still inside the giant bathroom hall and the rain started to change their trajectory towards them.

Keith started swinging his weapon to try and prevent as much rain from hitting them. Audrey and Gayle created different barriers as most members took cover behind their barriers so they wouldn't be hit by the corrosive rain. In that moment, vines wrapped around their legs, stopping them from moving around as Draxus continued sending the rain towards their general location. With Audrey and Gayle using up their mana to basically protect themselves and the Sentinels taking cover behind them, and Keith face tanking most attacks as some rain drops managed to get through his defensive lines with his extreme finesse over the chain and sickle. Behind him was Layla, as she was somewhat no longer able to move. Wesley rushed forward after escaping from the vines and tried to interrupt Liam from continuing a corrosive storm the bath. He took multiple hits as he tried to deflect as much as he could. "Ghh!" Wesley was getting injuries all over his body just trying to get close to Liam as he leaped and attempted to strike him down. Liam blocked his attack with one of his swords that he had used to redirect the rain, allowing everyone to move as he started to fall down.

Wesley swapped with a shadow back into the bath as he prepared more clones as he started rushing back to the front. Juniper fired magic nullifying feathers straight towards Liam but her attacks were instantly absorbed the moment it entered a certain radius away from him. "Magic attacks won't work here, we need to get close to him so we can attack." Pauleen was shocked by Audrey's words, as they couldn't make use of one major factor to fight against him. Juniper was the same, but she prepared herself to fly and intercept Liam's attacks as she was one of the few members who could fly. "[Equalizer]!" Gayle activated her scythe's functions and divided the mana to everyone in equal capacity. Pauleen drew a sword into her bow as Audrey instructed her. "The magicannon effect won't work on him, but he can't absorb the sword." Jay, who stood in front of Audrey was struck by lightning, but his wings which were composed of swords received it all and conducted it properly. His wings then stabbed the ceiling so he could transfer the electricity away from his body. "[King of Spirits]!" Keith activated his form once more as the Heavenly spirit materialized herself, protecting Keith from harm.

Juniper took his attention as he continued to block her attacks smoothly while swatting away bullets and arrows from Mitch, Justin, Gilbert, and Pauleen. He was not attacking directly still, but was seemingly judging the actions of others. They were sustaining injuries greatly as Keith now took over as Wesley and Juniper retreated to heal themselves using potions and Maria's magic. Audrey started firing more materialized objects towards Liam. However, despite that, no attack still managed to reach Liam's slippery defense. Wesley quickly returned to the fight and started thinking as he observed Liam's movements. With the speed Liam was going to defend from everything, and Keith starting to slow down again from the damage, he had a short time to analyze the full capabilities of the person in front of him. Keith rushed back into the bath and healed himself up for a moment. Jevil swapped with him as they didn't want Liam to go on the offensive after what they had witnessed.

Jevil had the highest physical capabilities among the Sentinels, yet he was still unable to create or find an opening on his clash against Liam. And just as Jevil flew back, Wesley leaped up and struck Liam. Scuti, Cephei, and Canis, took over Jevil to ensure that Liam won't have gaps to attack. Because of the three of them, Wesley managed to slice off one of Liam's arms, disarming him from his weapon that controlled the weather.

The rain stopped falling as everyone was finally able to close in and attack.
