Kings of Eden

The moon shone high in the sky, shedding light on a dark castle atop a hill. The castle was surrounded by deep forest, in it dark malicious creatures roamed, prowling in search of something to quench their thirst for blood.

Below a beautiful city was having a festival, festive lights and fireworks lit the sky as the people roamed the streets and enjoyed the games. As the people and children enjoyed the festivities dark otherworldly creatures followed. These creatures came from the void and were a gift to the people from the king who ruled the land.

At a certain age the children at the festivals would be chosen by one said creature to become it's knew partner. The creature would then bind it's soul the the child vowing to protect them no mater the cost and to help the child grow and become stronger.

Walking throught the crowd a young man with dark brown hair and dark blues eyes waved at the people, greeting them as he passed. The young man was well know as one of the people who stood side by side with the king, everywhere the king went the man was soon to follow as his third in command.

The young man goes by the name Kylan and is a talented void manipulator, some say he could surpass the king himself. Although others doubt it because he and the king are only a few years apart, and seemed to be blessed by the void personally. Kylan himself is tutored by the king as well as his second hand, and is chosen for the most dire missions because of his talents.

After taking some food from one of the concessions Kylan waved toward the owner and headed toward an alleyway. Once there he snapped his fingers; opening a portal before heading through with his arms full of food. Exiting through the other side he appeared beside an older man who grabbed some of the food as soon as he arrived.

The area they were in was surrounded by beautiful forest filled with wildlife, in front of them was a beautiful waterfall that flowed seamlessly into a lake. Slightly above the lake a young man was meditating the air around him calm.

"So father when's our next mission?" Kylan asked the man beside him as he began to put the food into a pocket dimensions for storage.

"Bored are we, you've got to learn to cherish these peaceful times Kye. You know it wasn't always like this..." The man looked off into the distance beginning to remember the years before.

"Yeah yeah I know. The day of the outbreak the world was flipped upside down, then the great kings rose to power and now everything is all great and dandy, yada yada. You know I came out here cause I was bored right not for a history lesson." Kylan said rolling his eyes.

"Haha right right, you know you could always fight the young master again." John said with an amused smile on his face, remembering the beating his cocky son took a few days prior. It was hard to feel bad for him when he literally asked for it.

"Yeah no, I uh... I think I'll pass." Kylan winced remembering the toothy smile of the faceless humanoid creature the king unleashed on him. "I think I'll just go find some beast to hunt."

In that moment the air around the man stirred and began to move wildly, before calming back down. As he began to move dark platforms appeared under his feet making it seem as though he was walking on the water itself. His purple eyes began to fade back into their normal color, and his raven black hair began to settle back into place.

"I take it you've retained your control over the beasts?" John asked always in awe of the kings mental strength.

"Indead, they grow rowdier with each passing moment of peace. Some just need more taming, most have already givin in to me." As he said this he had finally arrived back onto the grass, and stood in front on the two.

The man before them was Vash the king who controlled the void, and wielded its power to protect his people and help them grow stronger.

"You must be hungry, that's gotta take some kinda toll on you right." Kylan reached into his pocket dimension and passed Vash something to eat.

"Not as rowdy these days huh, guess Zikan taught you a lesson you wouldn't forget." After saying that the toothy smile flashed in Kylans' head once more.

"Heheh... I took it easy on him last time... anyway I just thought you could use some extra energy that's all." Kylan said rubbing his neck.

"Haha right right, thank you, I appreciate the gesture." Vash said as he took a bite.

"Sir earlier today we got information that lord Frost caught the man you were looking for." John said stepping forward.

"What a shame, eh well at least it wasn't Soul who caught him, God knows what that lunatic would've done with him." As Vash said this he began to walk towards the forest. The air before him rippled as a portal opened, the others followed as he stepped through.

Stepping through they entered a chamber in the castle that was filled with different kinds of weapons and instruments. Vash motioned them toward nearby seats as he moved toward his desk.

"So how's the festival going, nothing gone wrong I hope.?" Vash asked as he began to write in a journal.

"Heard there were a few high tier contracts, even saw one myself before coming here." Kylan said as he looked around the chamber. He noticed some of the weapons on the walls had seals on them.

"That's good, God knows when another fight might break out. Have you been keeping up on your training, fight any strong beasts."

"Yeah had a few run ins, nothing I couldn't handle of course. I mean I am the best hunter so it's no surprise." Kylan said smiling motioning cutting down a beast with a sword.

"You sound more and more like him by the day, he might like you, or kill you who knows haha." Vash said as he looked up at Kylan.

Kylan paused at the remark, then looked toward Vash who had gone back to writing. "Uhhh who.... might??"

"Frost of course." Vash said with a smile on his face as he concentrated on his work. "By the way I'm supposed to meet up with them in three days, you're welcome to come."
