Chapter 7: Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Is it because of the dance you stood me up? My mom wouldn't let me go honestly, she didn't even purchase me a dress.
Yeah well, I am moving to another school anyway.
Also when I graduate high school soon we won't be able to be together. Besides I don't like long-distance relationships.
He soundly like he was trying to convince someone that he wasn't confident about all this. I don't think he even believed his own story.
I knew he was stabbed and felt I couldn't stop him, nor did I think there was any chance I could convince him.
What I thought or my plans for our future, didn't seem to matter anymore by bother trying.
He was in denial trying to lie himself.
After he said all that, he turned and walked away fast.
The end of the year went by slowly.
I had gained the confidence for the rest school year to carry on. A couple of years went by 7th when 8th grade I was now 16.
In those 2 years, baby had a chance to train me some more. It was quite difficult and I had a long way to go.
High school was about to begin and with a fresh new start, I could start over and take this adventure soon to some of my life.
My plan for that year was to get a job, a roommate and to get a home. Where I could just chill for a while.
The summer last sucked. I went down to my dad's house.
He had a creek I like to go to a lot to just catch my breath and from time to time train demons were everywhere.
Baby started helping me on how to sense them faster and to keep my guard up with them. I could not fight them yet. That is also why Baby stayed around so much.
I learned People called, "Waymakers" could expel demons and release spirits to the afterlife.
As many times as I trained, I could never get my powers and these gifts to work for me and to open up any further. Baby said, to not give up hope in the right moment my powers may shine.
I had my first day in High school It was a blast. I at all my bullies were gone. The only ones messing around with me anymore were the occasional possessed.
One time I was in the wrong class when this one-time guy tried to mess with me. Before the school found out there was a mix-up in my schedule and put me in the right class.
I guess you could say I was asking for it. The teacher had me passing out papers and I was not in the best mood when she called on me.
It had been a hard time finding all my classes. Getting through the school was hard, the school was huge and the halls were crowded.
I came up to this boy with greasy long black hair that was down to the table. He covered his eyes with his hair and seemed in a trance doodling something in his notebook.
I stood there for a couple of minutes.
Annoyed I said, to him here take your paper.
He didn't hear me or was ignoring me. Then I spoke up louder to him in an unpleasant attitude.
At that after being ignored. I finally yelled "HEY", papers take your paper already!
He looked up at me like he was ready to beat my face in.
Over the summer I grew some attitude or should I say had a bit of back-bone standing my ground without fear looking at him.
I didn't see you there he said, coldly.
I fired back knowing my words were only my weapon. Maybe if you cut that mop of a hair of yours you might see something.
I knew that was a bit uncalled for, but there was something about him that got under my skin.
It pained me I wasn't about to let myself go another year being bullied and mistreated. I wasn't going to be a target at this school too thinking to myself.
As I rushed out of the classroom. Wanting to be gone of that jerk from earlier. I didn't get away fast enough with all the students being in my way and blocking the door. I knew I was a suck in a danger zone. Because He was on my heels.
He used an all-knowing too basic bully move.
This greasy-haired jerk hit my books out of my hands, kicked them crossed the floor, and then slid his arm around his very Gothy-looking but not-so-pretty girlfriend. Then gave me a very smug and proud smile.
Oh man, my blood boiled. I thought of 100 ways to get back at him.
That was when I got the news I was in the wrong class. They switched me out before I could go there the next day and get my revenge.
It was a good thing I guess. I swore I was going to tear him a new one! It was good luck I had never seen that jerk again, or so I thought.
When I got home most days I would go to my daily routine of homework, dinner, and regular chores. Baby would take me out at night and start teaching me how to combat the Deabru's.
The Deabru is the name of some of the soulless spirits and demons. Soulless are often people who go into the afterlife and have lost their way. Or was forcefully challenged to change by a demon?
The soulless can become a target for the Deabru's. So spirits that choose to stay here on earth were cursed.
A bad living person if they are not careful can create Deabru. Also if you have a person with a massively negative personality they can become targeted by demons.
This unfortunately means they will get consumed by a Deabru soulless.
What do you mean by that? If you don't let things go soon soulless can come and rip you from your spirit.
Yikes…I see. So it will be your job to stop the soulless Deabru's from coming after spirits and the living.
To the souls and the soulless, you are the difference, the protectors in keeping them safe and exorcising before they become part of the lost and take over.
Now I also must teach you of fully born. I believe you met one 2 years ago the thing that hell hounds that attacked us.
Before you ask full born is the fully fleshed version of a Deabru. They are like a guard of the underworld hunting the prisoners.
The bad thing is they are able to be seen by regular people who are alive. Causing panic it is so they are rare to be sighted.
Standing here talking to baby I heard a bone-chilling howl. Like, that is it a…? Yes, Kaysi that is the sound of a soulless.
What, we were interrupted by a scream. It sounds like a girl being attacked just now! We have to save her I said leaping into action.
Kaysi, you have no weapon or any real protection.
I know but I have to see, we could maybe help.
As we came to the scene at Spencer Park only two lights were on the rest of the others were flickering or dim.
The place looked pretty messed up. Some of the tree branches were broken and the smaller ones uprooted or down and some of the bushes were wreaked, knocked down, and destroyed.
It looked like some wild animal bulldozed its way through. I bent down to my knees, to take a good look at some tracks and fur. As I did so; I heard the howl again.
It almost sounded like the wild boar now that I am closer. Wild boars are known for their ability to destroy land and crops in the area.
Coming as fast as she could, a girl came running through the wooded area.
Something was chasing her. It was indeed something large, in the distance if could see, some of the trees were lying down flat.
The monster was not far coming behind the girl.
It looked like it had a boar structure but, couldn't be a boar it was super big, but it sounded like one.
As I came out of the forest I could see its skull and parts of its bones this thing was not alive. There were areas of rotted flesh and it had a bad smell of something dead. I saw a mark like an upside-down heart with a slashed x threw it.
Baby, what is that thing? That is soulless what we were talking about. What you are seeing is the form someone takes after death if they are possessed.
You take the form of your natural animal instinctual, if you change when you die everyone has a spiritual animal that their soul resembles.
Not all the time does it happen like this, but this one did.
The monster was getting closer and closer to the girl.
I made a quick discussion and my body reacted before I could think about it. I jumped into action grabbing its tusks. Holding on to the tusks as tight as I could I was able to distract the soulless from the girl. I yelled back at the girl to run.
I jumped on top of the boar hoping to turn its direction. I didn't expect what happened next. I saw we were heading for a large tree. I moved to get out of the way but it stopped in mid-run. The boar launched me forward and gourd me threw my stomach.
