Junior was lying on the bed, his eyes were closed and his breathing was steady, he had a contented expression on his face.

It had been very long since he was able to lay in bed without worrying if someone would barge in and demand that he get up and run an errand or go do some chores.

Junior was still deep in thoughts about just how much his life had changed when the sound of his phone ringing jolted him out of it.

Picking up his phone, he saw it was Jasmine calling. He wondered what she wanted from him. Could it be that she missed him?

The chances of that being the case was very slim but Junior still felt hopeful. A part of him was willing to forgive Jasmine if she begged for it, afterall, he could give her the kind of life she desired now.

After a brief moment of hesitation, Junior picked the call.

"Hello Jasmine," Junior said.

"Hello," Jasmine replied from the other end of the phone.

"Hi, how are you?" Junior asked.

"Don't act like you care. I'm calling to remind you about our divorce. Just tell me where you are and I'll have someone drop the papers with you, I've signed them already" Jasmine said.

"Is that all you have to say to me? You haven't seen me in days and you never bothered to call, not even once to find out about my whereabouts or if I'm safe" Junior replied.

"Why should I care? You humiliated me and my family in public and lied against someone very important to me and the company" Jasmine replied.

"That's not true Jasmine. Micah lied and used me. Can we at least talk about it in person?" Junior pleaded.

"I'll be in the office till 5. You can come whenever" Jasmine said and hung up.

Junior felt hopeful, at least she agreed to see him. Maybe there was still a chance their marriage could work out.

Having had his bath already, he quickly got dressed. He called Donald and asked him to drive him to the Banks company.

Less than an hour later, they got there. Junior walked into the building and straight to Jasmine's office.

When he got there, he said hello to the secretary and was about to go in when she stopped him.

"Where do you think you're going?" Lisa, Jasmine's secretary, asked Junior.

"I'm going to see my wife," Junior responded.

"Miss Jasmine is not available right now. Can I help you with anything?" Lisa asked .

"What do you mean she's not available right now? I saw her car in the parking lot" Junior replied.

"Listen up Mr, know your place. I'm not going to interrupt my boss because her jobless husband decides he wants to see her, you can either wait or leave, I don't care" Lisa said.

Junior wasn't shocked by the manner Lisa was speaking to him. The Banks made it their duty to remind him, both in public and in private, how much of a burden he was to them.

They had humiliated him to the point where the workers in their company had zero respect for him, to them, he was the gold digging husband of their CEO's daughter.

But Junior wasn't going to back down, he had every intention of seeing Jasmine, so without thinking twice, he barged into her office.

"You cannot go in there" Lisa screamed and ran after him, but it was already too late.

When Junior got into Jasmine's office, the sight he met made his stomach churn and his heart drop.

His wife was making out with a man, they were both so engrossed in the act that they didn't notice him come in.

"Jasmine!" Junior screamed

Jasmine and her lover quickly turned to see who it was.

"Junior, what are you doing here?" Jasmine asked.

Junior wasn't even paying attention to her, he was focused on the man she was with, it was Micah MacMatthew.

Junior couldn't believe Jasmine was cheating on him with the same man who mocked him publicly.

He couldn't even believe Jasmine was cheating on him at all. In all their 2 years of being husband and wife, they had only slept together once.

Jasmine only allowed him to touch her on their wedding nights and to kiss her during the first few months of their marriage, and as a fool in love, he had been content with that.

"I asked what you're doing here, are you deaf now? How dare you barge into my office like that?" Jasmine asked.

"You're cheating on me Jasmine. Since we got married, I've loved you and supported you, I've always tried to make you and your family happy, even when you guys didn't deserve it, how could you do this to me?" Junior asked, his voice laced with pain.

"Oh please, spare me. Whatever I choose to do is none of your business and I haven't done anything to you that you don't deserve" Jasmine answered.

Junior was shaken to the core, he was still trying to process everything when Micah started laughing.

"You really are pathetic, take a look at yourself, I wonder where you stole this outfit you have on, but it doesn't change anything, you're a good for nothing imbecile" Micah said to Junior.

Junior was about to reply when Jasper Banks, Jasmine's father, walked in, he had a smile on his face, but the smile disappeared when he saw Junior.

"What's this lowlife doing here?" Jasper asked.

"He's just here to sign the divorce papers, daddy," Jasmine answered.

She quickly brought out the papers which were in her drawer and threw it on the table along with a pen.

"Sign it," Jasmine said to Junior.

Not waiting to be told twice, Junior signed the papers. In his heart, he had resolved to pay everyone in that office back for the way they had humiliated him.

After signing, he was about walking out when Jasper Banks started talking.

"I'm glad we're finally rid of that leech. Hopefully, we never have to see his miserable face again. You've done the right thing by divorcing Jasmine, I'm so proud of you" Jasper said.

"You're proud of her? Your daughter was shamelessly kissing this man when I walked in here. I'm sure you and your wife are fully aware of her infidelity but because of how greedy you people are, you kept quiet" Junior turned and screamed at Jasper.

"Watch how you talk to me boy," Jasper warned Junior.

"Or else what? You're a terrible father and I promise you and your daughter as well as this conniving lover of hers, you all are going to pay" Junior said.

"This is truly hilarious, the poor loser is threatening us. You seem to have forgotten who I am" Micah said.

", you've overstayed your welcome, Lisa, please call security to escort Junior out" Jasper said.

"There won't be any need for that. I'm leaving already" Junior said and exited the office.

While walking out of the building into the parking lot, his heart felt heavy, he had tears dripping down his cheek, he vowed to have retribution.

Donald was already there waiting for him, Junior got in and instructed Donald to drive them home. He was wiping the tears away from his cheeks when his phone rang, it was Elise, he answered immediately.

"Hi Elise."

"Hello Junior, how're you doing?" Elise asked.

"I'm ok, how about you?" Junior replied.

"I'm good. I was just calling in to check up on you. I haven't heard from you since the incident at the company, I wanted to make sure you're okay" Elise said.

"That's very kind of you. We can meet up if you want" Junior said.

"Sure. I'll be leaving the office in 30 minutes. You can tell me where you are and I'll meet you up" Elise said.

"I can come pick you up, it'll be easier that way" Junior said.

"Pick me up?" Elise asked

"Yes. I'll explain better when we see" Junior said.

"Ok. See you soon" Elise said and hung up.

30 minutes later, Elise was sitting in the car with Junior while Donald drove, she was very confused but Junior assured her he would answer all her questions.

They drove to a fancy restaurant and once they settled in, Junior and Elise started talking. He told her about his parents and everything that had happened since they last saw each other. Elise was shocked, but at the same time very happy for him.

They had finished eating and were about to leave when they saw Xavier Harkin walk into the restaurant, he was with a very attractive woman .

"Look who we have here, it's Micah's evil best friend" Junior said to Elise.

Elise quickly grabbed Junior and tried dragging him back.

"What's the matter? Are you ok?"

"Yes. I just don't want Xavier to see us" Elise said.

"Why?" Junior asked.

After a brief moment of hesitation, Elise replied.

"Because he's my fiance."
